Hi there
Im Australian and married to an American moving to Oakland. I lived in the US for more than 12 months since the age of 16. I recieved my Australian Federal Police report but have read around that applicants are not required to get the FBI check from the US if that is the place they lived outside their country of residence.
I know if i lived in India for example, i would need a police check from that country and all other countries other than australia i have lived in.
Is this the case and will not need to get a FBI check?

Thankyou!
I was just unsure about what they mean by "previous and present residents of the US are not required to obtain police checks"
Ive read places that this only refers to those who had previous permanent residence in the US or previous citizens.
All other stays, such as business, require US police checks aka FBI checks.
So confused!
I already did my FBI just to make sure, but i know its a long wait and have all other documents ready to go.
