Medical documents needing translation would seem to indicated they concern the foreigner.  That's not a valid reason for expedite.  However, there is no need to legalize medical documents as they are not official public records like birth and marriage certificates.  Again, if these medical documents are about the foreign spouse, don't bother translating or requesting an expedite.  Not only will the expedite request be denied but the request itself could result in a delay.

I was advised otherwise, that the medical issue is a valid reason to & that it would not result in delays, however that there was no guarantee of being granted the expedition.

  2. Hello,

So I have a bunch of medical files and the most important one (signed by a doctor to confirm condition) I am having translated by a legally authorized translator ($45 per page, ouch!). Now my question is: do I also have to legalize this document in the courthouse? I know I had to do that for my marriage certificate etc., but not sure about this medical document. Or do something else besides translating it to English?

    Thank you!

are you trying to check your I-130 case number status? if so you need to use this link. https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/landing.do

Thanks, that one said they received it "Case Was Received". I'm still kinda confused since I submitted it in March & so many people in this thread say they have other info & they are tracking cases before and after theirs.
This whole visa stuff makes me feel like I have a goldfish brain, how do y'all stay on top of everything so well?!

9 months here, guessing you're stuck in the hellhole that is Nebraska, with us.

    welcome to the forums :)

Yup, Nebraska! If I had to make a guess, I'd say that the Trump election and muslim banned scared some people who filed as soon as they could, so it's slower than average now because there's more applications.

    That's just speculation though!

  5. Hey!

Just got married, just starting the CR-1. Now the border control officer told me I could not do the CR-1 while on a tourist visa.

I've read through this forum and the USCIS website, and can't find confirmation. Can't we just send in the i-130 package while I'm here, without applying for adjustment of status? I'm planning to go back to Europe before my tourist visa runs out :)

So I would probably have to go back to Europe to do the medical exam and stuff, but it will take a few months for the i-130 to get through anyhow, right?

    Thanks!
