  1. Same here. It’s been a little over a year now. Filed requests and had an Infopass visit. We were told that due to change of address which happened half a year ago they waiting for an opening for the interview.

Is there any other way to hurry it up?

Our lives have been in limbo for this whole year and nothing seems to be done. Just wait.

how are you guys, those who waiting still, holding up?

Does anyone know how long it usually takes them to produce the card and send it out?

    A week.

  2. Hey guys,

did anyone had the issue when you can't submit the Case Inquiry request?

I filled in the information, but after hitting submit button got a message saying that your application is not late.

Although for the area we moved a few months ago, they are processing March fillers since October 31.

    Any thoughts?

The officer on the phone in December said you should expect some news in the next 90 days.

Man, they can't seem to get one right, can they? This is so frustrating. I'll have to call them tomorrow then, as today it's already too late.

Did they ever send you a letter about it?

When I changed address I saw the same thing online. But never got any confirmation. Had to call them and in fact they didn't update the information. So in a course of 2 months I called 3 times to check if they actually changed the address :)

  4. Hi there everybody,

I am waiting for the residency interview. Adjustment of Status based on K-1. Will it look ok for the officer if I and my partner will be living apart for a few weeks or months?

I was not lucky with getting any job in my field where I and my US partner are based at the moment. We both open to moving from the central US to the west coast. And I have better feedback work wise there for some reason.

Will it look ok to the officer checking our case if I move first? Due to me getting a better-paid job and my partner (who is the US citizen and my initial sponsor) is still in the job hunting phase. I don't want my partner to leave the job without having another one to go to in the location I will be now.

Thank you for your opinion and maybe experience. I am just so exhausted to apply in the area we live right now. I applied to like 50 jobs and no feedback. But as I apply to a location on the west coast or east coast. It is a much better response. I don't know if the central America is less friendly for the educated immigrants like me. It's really weird.

Also, what seems to work is meditation. Not with me though cause my mind starts working overtime the moment I tune out external distractions.

Absolutely. If the sitting one doesn't work for you, there's always a walking one :) Just going for a walk is doing the trick. I am blessed here with the very beautiful mountain views.

What kind of tribes are there in Morocco?

That's a good question. I'm a very impatient person by nature. And I have had always this attitude of: things don't come to you by themselves, you have to take action. This has always worked out for me in anything I've done. As long as I'm in control I know I will get the job done.  Untill now...now is this loooooooooong waiting game and even when I take an action to set things in motion I have to wait. Wait for others to make a decision, wait for documents to be processed.

Some days I'm doing well and some days I don't. I try to do the things that give me satisfaction, stuff like working out, reading and writing.

It's a long and sometimes frustrating journey. I have a very supportive partner and we do a lot of outdoor activities to relax, but he obviously has to work while I stay home. And I think that's the most frustrating part. I miss being part of a team, driving to work with a mug of coffee. Exchanging stories with co workers. Producing something useful and being creative.

But yeah, I feel ya :-)

Hi Beachlover, when the government institutions are involved, it seems that we do need to surrender a certain level of proactiveness :)

I never had that long of the period of my life without work.

    What do you write?

  7. Hi there,

this is the very point most of us coming to this forum. So we can find answers for some of the questions, have a look how other people are doing, get some support. But the main thing, I think, is we are just trying to handle the stress of adjusting to this new world in this new country.

I am in the same boat. My partner is American and we thought that there are more opportunities for both of us at this stage in life here. So the journey began last year and still goes on. First, it's the initial interview and visa wait, then it's adjustment of status and work permit wait. Now for me it's a job search. And during the specifics of my field, I actually need to wait for residency to satisfy US Person requirements. Every step has a bit of the stress involved. Double checking in all the forms are filled correctly. Waking up in the middle of the night thinking if everything is fine or should I panic about my application. Oh, and why is the job search going so slow? :) Plus all the changes in the politics. The list goes on...

So I wonder, how do you cope with stress? And what do you think about that period of adjustment time in a new country?

I had this similar experience when back in the day I moved to New Zealand. But now it's just like all over again. One day I am super excited and the next day, after checking the status on the USCIS website, I feel down and can barely function :-)  And then a good day again. I will be very grateful if someone would like to share their experience with the mental state of mind and how you handle stress! :)
