Update the progress in my case.

I did my interview on 05/16 in San Francisco FO. It totally took about 40 minutes. Test was very easy, but the officer went through my case and my recent international travels carefully, so it took a long time.

After that, I was told my green card category code has a typo, so the officer said they would check it and send my a written decision.

Today, my case status got updated to be "We recommended that your Form N-400, Application for Naturalization , be approved. Your case was submitted for quality review." on 05/17 and "oath ceremony will be scheduled" in egov.uscis.gov.

But on myaccount.uscis.dhs.gov, it shows "Oath Ceremony Scheduled. USCIS has scheduled your oath ceremony and will mail you the appointment notice." and the last update is on 05/18/2017.

egov.uscis.gov updated the status of my case to be "Oath Ceremony Notice Was Mailed".

the officer has accent? what are the civic questions as well as reading and writing?

so nervous. i am happy for you.

Don't worry, the test is very simple, the test itself only lasted for about 1 minutes.

I only remember that one question is what is religion freedom and another one is when the constitution was written, what state boarders Canada.

The officer had some kind of light accent, but the worse is that the officer had bad pollen allergy, so her voice wasn't very clear; the worst is that I had pollen allergy too. So we talked about how to relieve our symptom.

  4. I went to my 2nd infopass today and got no any helpful information, but just being asked to wait.

Right after I left the building, I got messages saying that

On April 10, 2017, we scheduled an interview for your Form N-400, Application for Naturalization , Receipt Number IOExxxxxxxx. We will mail you an interview notice. Please follow any instructions in the notice. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

That is a good news, but the more funny thing is the local infopass window doesn't know my case has been updated yesterday.

ok I would go to infopass in middle of April also if i did not get a interview letter. I went to infopass twice. the staff served me in local FO were a guy or Asian lady respectively. both them were not nice and did not provide useful information to me.

What questions did you ask? Last time, I was lucky, the lady told me some helpful information before I asked.

But the processing time on uscis web is June 16. the staff of uscis just use this time as standard when i called them for case status. it will take many month to get to aug 19 on the web according uscis officer. When you plan to go to infopass if we are not lucky and did not get interview letter promptly?

That's why I feel that infopass is a little bit more helpful than calling: the local FO can tell you the current processing time, instead of the processing time as of 2 months ago.

The infopass lady suggested me going to infopass in mid of April, if no interview notice is received before that. I'll go on 04/11.

my pd is aug 19 and did biomatrics on Sep 7. my field office is san francisco also. now still waiting for interview even though my background check has been cleared for months since nov. I dont know how the interview schedule  was arranged. sad

I have the same pd as you, but I did my FP at the end of Oct. On 03/16, I went to the infopass in SanFrancisco, I was told the processing time was 07/29. So it is close. The interview notice may be received on any day.

I was also told that if the processing time passed my pd, I could go to infopass again to ask for inquiry, instead of submitting inquiry online.

I've been given conflicting info from L1 and L2 about that, but I can say the USCIS Processing page shows LA office handling June 23 as of January 31, so that's a 7 month and 10 day approval time.  My PD was August 10 and I was approved yesterday, so that took 7 months and 3 days.  So if you are August 19, according to their website SF should approve you on March 29 or so.  Infopass will just tell you same thing.

I went to the Infopass today. It's pretty quick, my number was called when I was still in the bathroom.

The lady was nice, and I was told that my case status is eligible for interview. The current processing time of San Francisco FO is July 29, 2016. There are about 2150 people in the queue waiting, only about 70 are already scheduled for interview.

She told me that I should get scheduled in few weeks, otherwise I should send a request for my case.

yea sorry but you're just going to waste a couple of hours of your life, in 6 years here I've never heard one person getting any useful info from an InfoPass appointment if there priority date falls within their posted official processing times.

but USCIS only post official processing time as of about 2 months ago. like on Mar 14, they posted processing time as of Jan 31 was June 16. Does that mean only PD before June 16 will be given some helpful information?

  10. Hi All,

My online status is still something like " we scheduled you for a biometrics appointment "

So I sent email via ELIS account about 20 days ago, then got a reply from them, which says

Requesting information about your N-400, Application for Naturalization.

Your application information has been entered into the system which schedules applicants for interviews at their local Field Office. Interview appointments are scheduled as slots become available at the Field Office. Once you have been scheduled for an appointment, you will receive an Interview Appointment Notice to appear at a certain date and time at your local Field Office. You must take the Interview Appointment Notice and photo ID to your appointment. Please review the Interview Appointment Notice for any other requirements.

Today, got an email from ELISdonotreply@uscis.dhs.gov
