Hey,
I don't really post here too much, just read and see what's is going on in general...But today, i decided to check my case status on-line as well as processing dates...Oh, Boy..USCIS changed their web site
, and to be honest with you, i can't find anything useful there..it's complete circular logics without any helpful information..i spent over an hour trying to figure out how to get to the time line, and i failed..
may be it's just me, who is stupid and cannot understand anything,
but it really makes me mad, what have they done?Seems to me that they just spent more taxpayer's money to make information even more difficult to get..I do not know..
What are your opinions??
-
Hi!
I'm sorry to say so, but no. I have never actually been to greece.
My husband is greek, but he is USC and we met here.
But I wish you the best of luck with your interview...
Sorry for confusing you!
-
jabree,
I noticed from your timeline that your case has been denied
..but what was wrong? what has happened?
And I'm very sorry to hear it..hopefully things will get better soon..wish you the best of luck
-
me too.
.all we need is either a touch or a letter stating the interview date
We haven't been touched since 09/09/2006..it is terrible...
I know i should be patient, but i don't want to...I wanna start working and go thru the college applications:(
BTW,kaffykat, we have the same time frame as u could see...
except i didn't receive any rfe requests and it scares me, as for the other stuff we are very close in dates...
let's be friends!
-
yeap...
I have been waiting since 09/09, the date my I-485 and I-130 were both touched, my EAD hasn't been touched ever since 09/05
..nothing since then..I'm a little bit impatient
but we have nothing else to do,except waiting and, god bless, we will hear from them soon enough....
and hopefully it will be smth good, not an rfe....
good luck and tons of patience for all of us..

THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR YOUR STORY!!!!
It was very nice of you to mention al the details!
I will probably have my interview in Chicago too
, since I live not far from it..so it was very valuable for me to read you post!
thanx again!!!
And my congratulations on your approval..sorry, it took them so long..but the result is positive-which is GOOOOOOOD!
-
oh! i see...
yeap, but I understand that nobody is insured from subliminal and unconscious drives and desires, which are very likely to be seen from such an obvious interpretations:)
The one who interprets-that's is his business
..nothing to do with me:)
I'm pretty comfortable with my name, as a proud wife of a noble greek man from a highly respected greek family...
Let's just say you think so-you deal with it:-)
-
[N.B. Be careful how people interpret your new name (it has a wierd sexual connotation.)]
What????????
How come? Is there smth I do not know???My husband didn't seem to mind or point...I'm confused!!!!
hey, motu..thank you for pointing out at a good side of USCIS workers!
You are actually right, sometimes, we keep forgetting or mixing up, and a bad experience smt overcoming the good one..
But I still think that there is only one way the government knows how to do stuff-BADLY!
Despite having some good ppl, it is still a bureaucracy:(it's still smth that is not very efficient and needs to be decreased in size big times BUT! step by step...

Hello everybody,
I have just noticed, that my case, I-765 and I-485 in particular, were both touched ..on saturday
!!!Wow!
I didn't know those guys were actually working on weekends. That's something really surprising since we have to deal with the government, and these ppl don't seem to be workaholics at all.
Pleasant surprise, I guess...
Hopefully it was a "good" touch..:-)
have a nice weekend everyone!
-
that what happens every time you deal with the government. Mistakes, delays, bureaucracy....and on and on and on...
Just imagine how better the things are, when you deal with private sector instead of government? It is just unbelievable what the government does to its ppl and there is no way to complain, cuz you cant complain abt government to government..
that makes me mad...
And the worst thing is, that despite being absolutely inefficient, harmful and destroying, it is still growing..
-
Very good, very good!
Congratulation guys!!!that was very neat and I'm glad you had such a nice officer to be interviewed with.
Officer from asia, interveiwing you vietnamese wife-such a lucky coincidence!!!
Good for you..
and now you are good to go, w/t warring for at least 2 years..very happy for both of you and God bless!
-
Not me this time
I was touched yesterday, and I hoped the same would happen today..but.
eehhh...*_* happens..
Gongrats on your touches, folks:)
-
Good news, Martin!!!
Congrats!!!
Best wishes for you and your sweetest one:)
You did it!
Everytime I read that smn is approved it gives me hope and patience!
Thank you for sharing and I'm looking forward to read your experience
-
thanx!
hopefully it will be just a beginning:)
-
I just realized what it means to be "touched"!!!!
I'm sorry for being so stupid before, but I checked my portfolio just now and there were new dates next to the application numbers! I'm so excited! Now I know what that is and how it works!
I have just waken up actually, but noticed that my case was touched today twice already, so I guess someone is working on it!!!
sweet sweet nectar!
-
And I did!!!!
but she didn't care..ehh..anyway, I have scheduled the infopass in a week or so. Me and my husband will try to talk abt it with an immigration officer. Cuz it was just BAD way to treat ppl...
We will see what we can do and also check if she actually submitted my fingerprints instead of stating that I didn't show up. Who knows what was on her mind.
thanx everybody for being so caring! I really appreciate it!

Sorry, it sounded vagely..I just was SO frustrated.
And YES!I filed all the documents for USCIS with the desired name. I brought the forms, the receipts and sertificates stating that I'm willing to use that particular name from now and on.
She saw it, but instead she scratch everything with her pen, all my receipts, yelled at me, and refused to futher process my information until I give her the signiture she wants me to write. I obeyed..I couldn't stand any longer such an attitude. Humiliating, rasism and total intolerance.
dr_lha:I'm glad that you had a positive experience. And yes, i filled out the form, but guess who has the key to that box?

here it comes...
I tried the first taste of people's cruelty and intolerance in this country. That was bitter and humiliating:(
I had that biometrics appointment in hammond today at 10 a.m. The first thing, there was no sign showing where the building is. We were running out of time and very frustrated. Finally someone very kind explained to us, that it was behind an abandoned and partly demolished "Kmart" building. We finally found it, came in. Cold and impolite person threw paperwork that I had to file out right next to me. "Sit and wait" he said.
then it was my time to get in and give all what i had to the officer, he was polite enough as to keep completely silent and indifferent. He took all the fingerprints so many times, doing and redoing it, so i started to watch tv while he was struggling with it. When everything was done, he asked me for my ID..I gave him the ID and the information(I was going to change my first and last name so I basically filled I-485 and other papers with my new name, giving my original name as a maiden. Nobody seemed to care). Until now.
All of a sudden right after I explained my situation some lady heard it, ran to us, grabbed my paperwork and started shouting that I have no right whatsoever to change my name like this. I tried to explain that I'm married and there are no restrictions as long as you can explain the situation and show necessary paperwork. But she didn't care..she was like crazy, she took my papers and scratched them completely. She was yelling that there were enough problem in his country so they do not want to deal with some immigrants who was faking(!!!) their identity. I was devastated. United States are the last country I expected to be yelled at. And it happened. She called USCIS herself, changed my name to what I had before marriage. Shouted at my husband for a while(he is a USC!) that we were stupid and she didn't want to discuss anything. They made me go thru the fingerprints stuff again and pressured me to put some bizarre signature with my maiden name instead of what I had in other paper and then threw me out of there...like an animal..worse then animal..
What is wrong with these ppl???
p.s. on the photo for EAD I'm crying. I wonder if the same picture goes to green card-that would be funny
-
I'm sorry, but your description is very very vague. how come that you know if it was already sent to you?
I know for sure, that it is a crime in this country to steal or open someones mail without a permission. Unless you have some kind of an enemy or a political antiimmigration group living next to you, so that they are ready to brake the law only to get you out of country, but it is very rear..
Therefore, I guess you have to either call the customer service or make an infopass of you definitely sure, that your interview letter was sent and now missing..
best wishes..
-
I'm actually changing my first name too altogether with the last name
....
Will see what they will do abt it..hopefully it will go smoothly.
Otherwise my husband will probably kill me, cuz he didn't like the idea...
-
hey,
I guess someone just started the same topic as I wanted:)
Good
here is my situation: My husband filed form I-864 while he was unemployed, so we basically used his assets to prove his sponsorship ability. But i hope by the time interview comes, he will find the job..Thus, my question is-Do we need to file another affidavit of support and bring the new one to the interview, since our financial circumstances changed? If so, where can I find the law, saying that, cuz my husband refused to file any paperwork
, unless the law requires it. He doesn't want to deal with the immigration issues at all...I do all the work myself
So I need an advise abt I-864..
thanx

hey,JARREA1,
I guess I perplexed you a little bit with the time frames, sorry
, i just wanted to show you, that those 10 days were nothing..some ppl spend much more time outside the USand that's o'k.....
just do not worry..let your sweety see his dear ones..you'll be o'k....
-
Hi,
If I'm not mistaken, he is free to leave the country for up to six month with his GK. Thus, 10 days will not make any difference. he is a permanent resident and he has almost all the rights in this country, he can leave and come back as many times as he wants...Just make sure he spends enough time here to be qualified for future naturalization(36 month out of five years probably).
you'll be fine!
good luck with a trip!
-
hey, approvals are coming like crazy!
that is definitely good thing..one more sweet couple is good to go..no more USCIS for at least tree years:-)then comes naturalization....
sweet sweet nectar...
good luck!
CONGRATULATIONS!
