  1. I had my biometrics appointment for removing conditions in December 2020 in Maryland.

On your appointment letter it should say what ID you need, however, 100% take your expired green card.

I did not, and even though it says on the letter any official ID is fine, they refused to help me until I presented my expired green card. I had to go home and get it. I even showed the lady what the letter said, and she said "I know what the letter says" but still refused to help until I got my expired green card.

I had a really horrible experience, and I'm not trying to worry you, I'm just encouraging you to take your expired green card, because it may be all they need.

  2. Hi all,

My wife is a US citizen but has only just returned to the US after living overseas since the age of 16.  We are assembling our AOS package and we are struggling with the form because she hasn't ever done a US tax return.  Her parents who do reside in the USA have claimed her as a dependent, I believe this affects her returns somehow.

As my wife is presently unemployed we are using one of her parents as a joint-sponsor on our AOS.  My question is, is it ok that we don't have any W-2, IRS Tax Transcripts, Federal Income Tax Returns or Social Security Earnings Statements for my wife?  Will we have to tick "Unavailable" and then explain in a formal statement that the reason we don't have any of these is because she hasn't worked in the USA since 2009?  I'm new to the whole IRS system, as is she, and I'm concerned she was supposed to file a tax return even though she wasn't earning money in the USA.

Any help would be much appreciated!

    Thanks

  3. Just thought I would add I am currently visiting the USA as we speak while my CR-1 is pending.  I was fully prepared to be asked questions at the airport and had my flight itinerary at the ready but they asked me no questions about it whatsoever.  The only thing the CBP agent said was that next time I could go through the US citizen line with my wife as it's "one of the benefits of being married to an American."  Who knew?!

  4. Hi all,

My wife (American) and I (British) moved to New Zealand together and applied for a CR-1 visa for myself.  We naively hoped that everything would be approved before our New Zealand visas ran out so that we could live together while my US visa was being processed, thus minimising the time we would spend apart.

Unfortunately, this has not been the case and our I-130 is still collecting dust at the USCIS Nebraska Service Center.  My question is:  We need to change the address, is it better to use my address in the UK or my wife's address in the USA?  That said, my wife probably won't have a fixed address for a while as she will be living with various family members while she gets an apartment, so will it be ok to use my address, even though I'm the beneficiary?

Furthermore, we had originally asked for my interview to be completed here in New Zealand as that's where we thought we'd be residing, will this be possible during the change of address?

    Many thanks in advance!

  5. Hi all,

My wife and I filed our I-130 petition in May 2017 and received our NOA1 in June 2017 via mail.  We completed the E-Notification form but never received an email.  Our case is at the Nebraska Service Centre.

Later on in June, we sent our I-129F to apply for a K-3 Visa.  Unfortunately, due to a minor error, it was sent back.  We then re-sent the I-129F after amending the error.

    Today we received this email:

Is this email in regards to the I-130 or I-129F?  As we have never received an email before we are unsure what it means.  Does this mean our case has been approved?  Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.
