It went like I described it could go haha. The interview went great. He said the I-130 was approved but didn't want to approve the AOS until he reviewed the case  then a few hours later, my uscis account was updated to say the card is in production. The next day it was updated to say approved.

have you received your card? If so how long did that take from notification of approval?

Im guessing this happens often then.

    Glad you were approved.

My card arrive in the mail a week after the approval. Hope yours comes soon.

I spoke to a lawyer about what could happen at the interview. He said one of two people could interview me, namely a field supervisor or a field officer. Field officers cannot approve you in the system without the say so from the supervisor. Often they would say something along the lines that you mention then defer the case to the supervisor along with a recommendation. The supervisor would then act upon the case.

If this is all true, then maybe this is what happened to your good self. Congratulations. My interview is tomorrow.

    That makes sense.

    How was your interview?

Congrats!!! What kind of questions were you asked? And what evidence did you bring ?

    Thanks.

Also got greencard in the mail 6 days after interview.

We took with us copies of all the original forms, copies of the medical exam, tax return, ID documents, and extra stuff that was on the interview notice list such as bank statements, apartment lease and photos. There is a list of documents on the interview notice.

The officer didn't ask us much, she didn't ask for any of the other evidence apart from our original birth certificates, IDs, and marriage documents . She just asked us to confirm that the information she had was correct (names, divorces, etc), for us to confirm each others full names and d.o.b.s, and how we met (online), our first meeting in person, why I chose to stay after coming here on a visa waiver, and if I had met his kids and if he had met my parents. Then she read out the list of questions on the I485 and I answered.

It went well. Still not sure what the additional background check and waiting 30-90 days thing was about, we thought maybe she had to get someone to approve it or she had to run my background check again as she seemed confused thay I was previously married despite it being in the paperwork. But approved 2 hours later. Not sure if that is normal.

  4. Hi everyone, just wanted to let you all know had my interview on 8th June.

    We got approved!

The interview went really well until the end when the lady said she had to run additional background checks and we would hear back in 30-90 days.

Our hearts sank, worry, panic, couldnt figure out what was going on.

Then 2 hours later I checked my online status and status had changed to approved.

We were so scared and really still don't know what the lady meant so seeing the status updated was incredible!

Got the approval notice in the mail a couple days ago. Now waiting for card to be mailed.

So exciting! Congrats! That's my birthday, so I'm sure it'll go well for you ;)

Thank you. And I hope your birthay brings us a easy interview.

    And Congratulations to you!

    Congrats!

Also, good to note that Philadelphia Field office(your local office) says processing as at July 2016 on USCIS.gov.

Yet you filed in december and got a date already.

So I guess those processing times are not really accurate.

    Thanks.

And yeah, I don't think they are accurate all the time.

  6. Getting overly anxious with all the waiting recently.

Status is scheduled for interview right now, but I feel like that's a tease as there's no definitive time frame between that status and when to expect an interview date. I'm not sure if the processing times are accurate for my office or not.

And in the next month my husband has to accept a Grad school position and I don't want to even think about what will happen if we don't get the interview before August, he will probably have to defer an already accepted MA/ student loans and find a new job, and somewhere to live, as far as I know uscis won't consider student loans as income, and he can't lie if they ask if he's still got his job. This is all such a tight squeeze time-wise but we're hoping the processing times are correct.

Anyone else know about this yet? Looks like both the green card and EAD'S are getting an updated design starting May 1

Yes! My husband got an email about this. I don't know what they looked like before but the GC design sounds nice.

Finally finally it is with such a relief that I can say my card is here with me in my hands ! Came with approval for travel- advance parole. I am so so happy ! Time to go make that trip home in 2 months to see my mom and to send save the dates for our religious ceremony!  Thanks to this forum for every support along the way . It took 119 days and was very painful but would have been possible without each of us keeping each other updated ! Thanks a lot .

wait for the green card continues but I am happy for now 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

    Yaay! Congrats!

Received Green Card today in the mail. Cannot believe now I am a resident here. So in exact 3 months I got the green card ......:) :)

😀😀😀 So happy for you. Congratulations. Its so lovely to hear peoples news. 3 months was fast.

  8. So it seems the processing times have been updated on April 18th for some local offices.

No change for me. In fact the dates are exactly the same, just a month different, makes me wonder how accurate that is. Anyhow...

But can someone tell me if the processing cases as of July 6th 2016 means they are processing cases that were filed in July, or if that's when cases have been transfered to the local office (I've been told that when they send the scheduled for interview message, that means your case is now at the local office) Im just confused as to when the service centre becomes the local office, when I believe the majority of people file at Chicago or Vermont etc.

    Thanks.

To those who have applied for a Ssn recently : how long did it take to receive it in the mail ? Was it regular mail ??

Also, were you able to get your number at the office itself ??

Hey, I know Brandja replied already, but just wanted to echo what was said. I applied for my first ssn with ead recently, I received it in the mail 6 days after visiting the office. The man told me to expect it in 5-14 days. Most people it seems to take a week to arrive. My ssn office has signs up saying they cannot give printed ssn's in the office anymore at all. And most seem to have to wait on the mail, but it isn't long at least.

Congrats to all you guys 🍾🍾🍾🍾, Eads and 485 !! That is wonderful 🎈🎈🎈

@dcfilerdec22 So happy you got fast results . Was your card mailed to you already ??

To those who have received their Eads,  Were you able to track it via Uscis case status ??

My card was mailed on the 11th, nothing today.I received the approval notices this Monday I think ( was away).

Congrats again , it's great to see all of us reaching the end of this process together .

I didn't get any tracking, but once the status changed to mailed I received it in 5 days, that was over a weekend though and our mail is kinda slow here. You should get it soon. I heard that some people call up for a tracking number, but they usually arrive soon after the status says mailed.

We have just come out of our interview and our case has been APPROVED!!

We are so excited. My wife almost had a panic attack in the car before we went in due to the stress of it all but it wasn't needed.

We will do a full review later but we are very happy and my wife is gone shopping to destress.

Best of luck to to everyone else!

    Congratulations! :D

So happy to hear that it went so well.

    2 in one day! Awesome!

    Lol always good to ask.

I applied for mine on a Thursday,  and got the card in the mail the next Friday. (8 days wait for me).

They will advice you that it should arrive in 2 weeks time.

    Great. Thanks for your help.

My husband's kid was wondering if I would get the actual number on the day, as she got her number before the card came (she's usc but 22 and only just applied), but I'm guessing it's maybe different for immigrants.

In all honesty i never read about it either, but a friend told me to, and when I went the lady asked for it. I did use a bank statement.

I live in Florida, so I'm not sure if every state does it, but I had to present mine.

Wow, maybe it does depend on the state but you must've been grateful for your friends advice. I will take a bank statement just in case.

I was wondering how long it takes to get the ssn?

  15. 3 minutes ago, Brandja said:

Okay that's a good step, definitely something to be excited about. What you will need is your work permit (EAD), passport and a proof of address.

You don't need the I-485 receipt nor your expired I-94 but do walk with them to be on the safe side.

Thank you Brandja. I hadn't read about proof of address. I'm guessing something like a bank statement is what they're looking for?

EDIT: Or is my address on the USCIS paperwork ok too?

  16. It surprises me how professionals mess this up. Our tax preparer told us the same thing last year and added me without a SSN this year when I could have just applied for an ITIN with the tax return. There are some morons out there. But I really think you won't be denied due to this, but you can also get your taxes amended as others have said. We are going through that process, as no refund yet due to the incompetence of professionals.

For those who have received the EAD card, did you have a way to track it or got a tracking number?

I received a notice that the card was mailed to me yesterday.

Today, myUSPS app captured the package being shipped from Saint Lois, MO.

Download myUSPS app. It will request your info (name/address and some other stuff) and will capture any USPS package (priority/express) being mailed to you.

    I've been wondering the same.

Will try the usps app, thanks.

THANK YOU so much for your help. i'll be getting a new license and filing for a new ss card tomorrow, so ill call to confirm what's needed and send copies over once everything new comes in the mail. : ) also - good luck with your upcoming interview!

Glad I could give you some information having had the same situation.

Good luck with that and the rest of the process.

And thanks, we're still waiting for the date but things are progressing.

I'm sorry to be a bummer:wacko: but as far as I know, this notification shows that your case has been transferred to the local office, and is in queue to be scheduled... which is good news!! but doesn't necessary mean you'll get your interview scheduled soon. Mine was scheduled after 45 days, my local office is Norfolk, VA which is apparently a fast office.

Oh, no worries. I'm aware it could be a long wait still until the actual interview date/get the date. But this update is still good news in my opinion, it's not so much that the interview could be in months time, it's hopefully knowing sooner rather than later and that it probably wont take 9 months to get the interview. It's entirely hit and miss I think.

Congrats! Can I ask what exactly does your notification say?
