hi, all...
Our K-1 Visa process was relatively smooth, and we are now happily married. We have just submitted our AOS and have a USCIS number. However, I have a few questions (if there is a FAQ/how to please direct me there):
- Will I need to show a joint bank account or something like that in addition to the wedding photos, and marriage certificate to prove legitimacy?
- Most banks will not accept my A# from the K-1 Visa - do I get an SSN now or wait? If so, where do I start?
- When we file taxes will we need anything special for this year? Any place for advice on this?
- Is there a list of next steps that we should be doing right now while we wait for the AOS process to go?
Thanks!

Anyone looking around, this link is from the State Department and is likely best in case policies change.

We just scheduled our interview... It is crazy how fast everything is going once we received the NOA2. I mailed out all of the original documents, and signatures needed yesterday. It is VERY VERY VERY Exciting.
For those who don't see the finish line yet... hang in there. The NOA1 -> NOA2 is the longest part.
Best of luck all!

I'm sure there is a post somewhere about what the next steps are now that I have the case and invoice id. Does anyone have a link or can tell me what I can/should do to speed this along (as best as I can)?
Thanks!

August 2017 AOS Filers, Part II
in Adjustment of Status Case Filing and Progress Reports

Just got off the phone with USCIS here is my terrible update:
1. AOD - is 16 - 33 months to decision so they said hang in there for another 1.5yrs (seriously?!)
2. Combo Card is about to expire - although we applied for an extension Aug '18...the receipt that came with the extension application allows for work an additional 180days but no travel outside the country. We were asked to wait another 3months due to their processing times.
Being patient is not one of my virtues - but really? Is this normal or should I escalate to someone?
Thanks!
