  1. My interview is scheduled in one month in Ciudad Juárez.  My lawyer decided to schedule the biometrics appointment without informing me.  She scheduled the appointment for Saturday but I was not planning on being in Ciudad Juarez until Sunday or Monday.  How hard is it to change the appointment?  Thank you!

  2. Hello!  I received the P4 appointment e-mail today - my husband's interview is on June 15.  The e-mail did state the items that we needed to take to the interview (police certificate, passport photos, etc.) but it did not have a checklist of codes like I have seen in other P4 letters.  I guess as long as I know what I have to take it really doesn't make a difference but it seemed odd that I didn't get that.  And now comes up that police certificate issue for Mexico.  I have heard so many different stories about where to get it.  In the P4 letter it states that the state police of each state can provide a police record.  So it is okay that I get the police certificate in Ciudad Juarez?  Thanks so much and good luck to everyone!

  3. My CC was on May 8th and my interview has been scheduled for June 15th.  It seems like such little time

in order to prepare everything!  I am already overwhelmed thinking about all the things I need to organize and the travel plans I need to make.  Are there any threads about the next steps to take after the interview has been scheduled and preparation tips for the interview?  I need all the help I can get!  Thank you and good luck to everyone!

Does anyone know how long it takes nvc to schedule an interview...I called and confirmed cc on May 9th but I haven't received an email yet and do they also stop scheduling after the first 2 weeks of the month? Im confused does anyone know

My cc was on May 8th.  I was just curious and called NVC today and the representative said that it has been scheduled for June 15th.  She said it usually takes about a week to get the email so I would definitely call to see if they have scheduled your interview yet.

  5. My scan date was March 1 and my case was completed on May 8.  When I called NVC to confirm the CC the representative did

confirm that my case was completed and that the next step would be the interview in Ciudad Juarez.  He even said, "You guys

did a great job" - which I assumed he meant that all the paperwork was in order and there were no issues.  The next day (yesterday) I received an e-mail that said that there was a problem with the AOS (Part 5, section 8) and that the Mexican police certificate is needed.  The e-mail said that the interview will still be scheduled but that I must take the police certificate and the corrected AOS to the interview.

  6. I checked my case this morning and there were no changes.  I checked later on the afternoon and the case showed completed!  I called NVC to confirm and the representative I spoke to confirmed that my case was complete!  He said that the case will now be forwarded to the consulate in Ciudad Juarez and they will schedule the appointment.  I asked him if he knew how long it would take to schedule the interview but he was not sure.  My scan date was March 1.  Good luck to everyone!  :D

Good morning...just joined a few minutes ago.  Our scan date was 2/2/17 and our CC date was 4/19/17 (one day shy of 11 weeks).  I got an email this morning with our checklist.  Luckily both items can be brought to the interview  The two items we need:  A complete set of our 2015 W2 forms and a police certificate (from Mexico).  I'm reading conflicting information on the PC.  Some say you need it for the interview in Jaurez, but some say they won't even ask.  Does anyone know?  We are working with an attorney and my husband is waiting on a call back from her.  Also, this has been asked a million times, I'm wondering how long before his interview is scheduled?

We've been working on this for almost 3.1/2 years (he had a complicated case) and I can't believe we are so close to been done!!

There has been so much confusion regarding the police certificate from Mexico.  My lawyer said that it is not needed but I've seen in other forums and also on the state department website that it is needed.  I guess if your checklist states that it is needed you should try and get it.  Good luck and keep us posted!

Do they have the dates or ages written on them anywhere? If so then yes they could be evidence.

If you have been living together that whole time, then I think a better piece of proof is evidence of you two cohabitating that length of time. Leases, titles etc... that have both of your names? Bills that go back 10+ years?

As for "relationship" proof, I think most people tend to use photographs for that rather than birthcard cards, but I don't see why they wouldnt' work. You must have photos of the two of you going back many years? With a relationship that spans 20 years you would probably only need a few things spread out over that time.

OK - thank you for your advice!

  9. I have been with my husband for almost twenty years but we were only able to become legally married about three years ago.  We have many

birthday cards that we gave each other through the years but since we were already living together there obviously was no need to mail them to each other.

My question is should those cards still be taken to the visa interview?  Because they are not postmarked would they still be considered proof of a

bonafide marriage or since they are not postmarked would they even be considered?  Thanks.

  10. I haven't been able to get any information.  I'm waiting for NVC to approve the final paperwork I submitted and schedule the interview.  I guess once the interview is scheduled and I'm sent the final checklist of what documents are needed I'll know then if the police certificates are needed or not.  I'd like to be prepared and have them before the interview is scheduled but I don't know where else to look to try and obtain them.

IR-1/CR-1 visa interview scheduled Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at US Consulate Ciudad Juarez, and we have no definitive clarification, and/or answer as to what the requirement is for obtaining and or bringing Police Certificates to the interview.  Our research has yielded conflicting, and/or contradictory reference sources, and we're perplexed as to what it is we need to understand to be fully compliant and prepared for the interview.  Would greatly appreciate any/all confirmable and substantiated information with regard to the need for obtaining Mexican Police Certificates .  TIA

How did your interview go?  Did they ask for the police certificates?

Once the nvc receive your documents there is nothing to update they will sit there for about 10 weeks until someone review them , you gonna keep seeing the message that says send your documents until your case is complete then it will change to at nvc , the only way to find out when they received your documents is to call .

To find out when your case is complete before they send you an email keep checking the ceac website , right now under AOS fee  it says paid  it will change to n/a if you see that call them to confirm.

Here is an example of mine:Screenshot_2017-03-12-20-30-49.thumb.png.698d393c22d49d60f3148ac95a1144ff.png

OK thanks everyone!  For my affidavit of support documents and financial evidence it shows N/A and it also says N/A for civil documents.  Does that mean I'm just waiting for one more N/A and then the case will be submitted to the consulate?

Your scan date is when your documents are received at NVC. The latest date is the most current scan date.  After 8 weeks if your file is not complete you can request a supervisor review. If you look at CEAC DS 260 online visa application page it will display 3 N/A's when your file has been reviewed and it's complete.

OK I assume the page you are referring to online is ceac.gov.state right?  It only shows that my next step is to submit the documents (even though I already have) and the instructions on how to submit them. There is no date that shows that that the documents were received even though a woman at NVC told me they were received on March 1.  There is a link to check NVC status but it takes me to a page that basically only has FAQ, nothing to check the actual status.  Will the ceac.gov.state page update with the status as the case moves forward?  Thanks for your help!
