  1. Hi all,

I just got my interview date on October 18 but it's been more than a year since we submitted all our documents. We submitted our I-693 together with all our documents August 17, 2017. I know that the I-693 is only valid for year now so does this mean I have redo my whole medical or is it possible to for our civil surgeon to update our forms for a charge or not do anything and use the I-693 that we submitted? Does anyone have any information to share regarding this? I would very much appreciate it! I am an F1 student, got married to a US citizen and applied for AOS. It took more than a year for us to get our interview date 😪

  2. Hi all,

I've been trying to find some insights about my situation and decided to see if anyone has been in a similar situation and can give some advice. I am currently a F1 student doing my phd (third year). I got married to a USC 4 months ago and we've filed the appropriate forms for me to get a GC. My husband will be graduating in December and he will be relocating for a job. I want to quit my program at the end of the semester and relocate with him. Will this put my GC in jeopardy of being approved? The stipend that I am getting from my school is also part of the I-864. I plan on finding a job once I receive my EAD, even if my AOS is pending, then start another doctoral program next fall. Will doing any of this risk my chances of getting my green card approved? Any advice? I am quitting my phd because it is also taking a toll on me mentally. I just wanted to make sure that if I do all of the above mentioned, I will not be risking my chances of getting a GC. I am waiting for my appointment to do my biometrics now. Thank you so much for reading this.

  3. Thanks DrEllaNJ! I do have a question regarding submitting the copy of my visa. My current visa just expired because it was issued by my previous school but my I-20 is definitely legit and issued by my current institution. I have no plans to return to Singapore in the near future because of school commitments, will that expired visa be a big deal when we do submit the paperwork?

  4. Dear all,

I am currently a F1 visa holder from Singapore and am in grad school right now. My boyfriend is a US citizen (also in grad school) and we plan to get married soon so we can start the AOS process. We've been living together for a year now. What is the best way to go about doing this? And what supporting documents do I need to submit? I appreciate any help I can get on this. Thanks in advance!
