You need to find a civil surgeon to complete form i-693. This involves making sure you have all of your vaccinations, so it'd be wise to get your medical/immunization record from home. You can find a doctor on this site: https://my.uscis.gov/findadoctor Call around as they vary greatly in what they charge for the exam.

You'll also need your birth certificate, so make sure you get someone to send you that.

The rest of the forms is in the guides.

    Thank you.

  2. Hi all,  apologies if this has been asked before,  I came out on a B2 visa to visit my boyfriend, he asked me to marry him which I did,  I am a couple of weeks off from being out of status,  having daily panic attacks because we are about to file for AOS,  I am horribly confused so please could someone help.  I need to know ALL forms we need to complete  and what happens as far as a medical since I wasn't planning to get married or stay here I never got any medical. Please can someone explain to me?  Thank you very much

Once you submit the AOS paperwork and receive the NOA1 you enter a period of authorized stay.  Make sure you send the I-131 and I-765 so you can travel and work (AP and EAD.)  Any overstay is forgiven and there is only a ban at 180 days overstay (3 yrs) and 365+ days (10 years.)

Thank you so much,  I have been having sleeplessness night.  We will submit paperwork this week.

If you have married, even once the I-94 expires, when you file for the AOS the overstay will be ''forgiven/forgotten" with the marriage to a USC.

While waiting for the AOS, you'll be in a technical legal status because of waiting for the AOS to be completed.

Thank you,  thank you,  thank you.  I have been having nightmares

  5. Please can some advise urgently,  I arrived in the US on a tourist visa I had bee  here a few months when my boyfriend decided to proposed and we got married a couple of weeks ago,  we are preparing to file for AOS but my I-94 is due to expire next month,  we are now really worried about what to do as this will mean I am here illegally and the AOS takes up to a year to complete.  Please can anyone advise urgently.  Thank you

if you don't need to return home to tie up loose ends, you should stay and do AOS. It'll be a lot faster and less expensive.

You can adjust from B2 status - it is only fraud if you come on a visitor's visa with the intention of getting married and adjusting.

Be prepared for extra scrutiny, but doing AOS in your situation is totally legal. Just follow the guides on this page to file i-130, i-485, i-765, i-131. - http://www.visajourney.com/content/i130guide2

    Good luck and congrats!

Thank you so much,  not many loose ends that family can't take care of.  Looks like we will take the AOS route, we were concerned that I would have to return home  it will save us the extra expense.  Many thanks again,  you have put my mind at rest

  7. Good day

i hope some can please help me with a simple yes or no, I have been looking all over the forum for answers but there are a few conflicting ones which have me a little confused and worried. Here is my situation, I arrived in the US on a tourist visa to visit my boyfriend and planning on staying for 5 months as we were touring Utah. I was due to return home in March 2017, however my boyfriend proposed and we decided to get married which we did 2 weeks ago on my birthday (yipee) I had already been here 3 months before we decided to get married and there was no intention of marriage or me staying when I arrived on holiday, I was asked at the point of entry what i was planing on doing in the US and I stated a vacation. I would like to know if is possible for me to file for AOS now without having to return to my home country?  my husband is a US citizen and having looked at the options filing for an AOS is a better option considering travel expenses of then having to return to my home country then applying for CR1 visa  and then returning again. Please can someone advise as I have seen some answers saying you can Adjust your status after marriage on a B2 visa and others saying that its not allowed. Both my husband and I are really stressed out and we would both appreciate input.

    thank you
