My service SC was Nebraska.

I just received the approval for my stepdaughters application. Approved on 3/14/17, my PD was 8/24/16. 

Filed for my step daughter ( I am a US citizen), PD is 8/24/16. Case is with NSC. Yesterday (3/10/2017) email (5 emails were received) was received stating that "name was updated" on the I 130 application, although we did not request a name change. It looked like 3/10/2017 was the last time the case was "touched". However I checked again today and it looks like the case was "touched" again as the date now shows as 3/11/2017 for last activity on the case. I have no idea what is going on. This experience is so stressful. Is the "name updated" something I should be concerned about based on anyone else's experience? Good luck to all....

I filed for my step daughter, PD is 8/24/2016 (I am a US citizen). Yesterday (3/10/17) I received email stating "name was updated". No idea what that is about since we did not request a name change. It looks like again today 3/11/17 there was activity on our case but the message of "name was updated" has not changed. This is based on yesterday it had 3/10/17 as the last time the case was "touched" and then when I checked today the date was 3/11/17 as the last date the case was "touched". This is the most nerve wrecking experience. I really wish I knew what "name was updated" meant. Our case is with the Nebraska Service Center. Good luck to everyone...

I am doing the same process for my step-daughter who is 17 (was 16 when I applied). Sent I 130 overnight to Phoenix lockbox on Aug 22, 2016 and on Aug 26, 2016 I received a email confirmation that they had received the I 130 and rerouted it to Nebraska Service Center for processing. Received the I 797 a few days later in the mail. My step-daughter has a 10 year visitors visa to the US but she wants the opportunity to study in the US. I am a US citizen and my spouse is LPR. My spouse travels a lot for his job so he has not started his Naturalization process so that is why I petitioned for my step-daughter. I have not received any response since I received the I 797. Is this normal? I realize I just passed the 5 month mark but I am starting to get concerned.  Thank you in advance for any thoughts/encouragement...
