My husband had his interview March 13th and I also was not able to attend. He said the process was painless. He was asked how we met, if I knew his family and daughter and if he has met my family and son. They asked him what I did for a living and what was the name of the company I worked at, my birthdate, and other basic questions and also did take a look at our wedding pictures. He said the entire interview lasted 5-7 minutes. The process from door to door was about 4 hours. He got his Visa 2 days later. I'm flying out to pick him up this weekend. :)

congrats !! Super late response jaja

Congratulations.  I was reading you post and saw that you were not at the interview.  Do you know what questions they asked him if any?  What documents do you suggest you should take to the interview? Did they ask him questions about you? My case was just transferred to the Texas office so I am guessing that my husband's paperwork will soon be approved....

I wasn't a bit nervous not going since I do have a divorce but my husband said they only asked him basic questions my bday ? And my sons bday who isn't his and they even asked him if he knew my ex husband . I feel all documents listed on the list before the interview should be brought be extra prepared always best ! They didn't even see the pics which was quite crazy to me cause everyone always states u have to take many pics ! And yes sis me I didn't go I sent a letter from my employer excuseing me from the interview but they didn't ask for that either... my best advice is to be yourself and be honest best of luck to you !

  3. Hey everyone ! Quick question my husband was approved like I said in a previous post for his cr1 visa on March 2nd. My question is they stated they would leave "Cita abierta" open interview or something for his kids. They just took there birth certificates and added it to his file not sure what's the  next step ? any one else had this experience ? I'm assuming they added them to the case he just need to take docs that were missing but I'm not sure ? Should I contact the embassy ?? I was told they give u a limited time to complete this ??

Congratulations. My husband's interview is a week from today March 13th. How long after the interview was the Visa approved?

    Any tips for the interview?

    Thanks

I didn't attend the interview with my husband due to work and it went quiet well and easy for him. The visa was approved same day of the interview and his passport is already ready in 2 business days ! He should be coming home Friday ! But yea tips for the interview is just be yourself and be extra prepared with documents !  In my husbands interview they didn't even take any pics from him he told me it was nice and smooth thank the lord! best of luck to you keep us posted!

  6. The only reason I'm saying this is cause of my job of course I would love to attend the interview just the circumstances of my job and when the interview is I won't be able to attend so I'm a little scared but I'm putting my hopes in god that everything will go well I will send a letter from my employer explaining myself and why I  may not attend. My best friend didn't attend and her spouse got his visa approved so my prayers are with god that everything will turn out for the best.. Thanks for your input

  7. Hey everyone this is my first post ever don't know if anyone else has asked this just want your inquiry.

So my husband and I met when I was 14 I'm now 28 me and him dated until I was 21 and then we broke up . The 5 years we were apart I got married and had a child , he himself had children within those  5 years (2), my ex husband and I didn't get along at all and decided to call it quites, then I went to Dominican Republic reunited with my first love and he had broken up with his baby mother so we decided to give it a try again! I got divorced Nov 2015 and got remarried Feb 2016 I truely love him and we will be married a year this Sunday , since then I visited twice. I read somewhere in the Dominican Republic embassy website that it's recommended for the spouse to go to the interview (petitioner). But in the email for the interview says petitioners are not required, here is where the problem is I have a full time Job at a hospital and don't have any vacation time to attend the interview since I took time in October, I have all the evidence needed just scared he can get denied if I don't attend!  Wanted to know what you guys here at visa journey think? Who ever is Dominican here knows that Dominicans take this seriously attending the interview! Please give me your input it will be highly appreciated

From what I gather DR doesn't take more than 15 days to schedule an interview. That is looking at the spreadsheet so let's hope we all get some soon
