As above, a lawyer can’t do anything. No way to expedite when a visa number isn’t available anyway.

As for not knowing how much longer he has to wait, it will be many years, but all you can do is keep an eye on the Visa Bulletin and hope it moves forward. Nobody can even really guess, you could look at the VB and say it’s currently Sept 2015 so he has another 4.5 years to go…….but it’s been stuck on Sept 2015 for a couple of years now without any movement. So it’s not linear and who knows when it will move again, or by how much. All you can do is wait, keep checking, and hope really.

When his date becomes current then he can try to expedite, but he’d need valid grounds to do so - just having the rest of his family in the US isn’t a valid reason.

is the priority date for F2B 2015 or 2017? Because the bulletin has two different tables.

Not possible to expedite a case that's pending visa number availability so hiring a lawyer would be wasting money on things that lawyer cannot change. The brother will just have to wait for the number to be available - and remain single for the duration.

I thought the priority date is 2015 but I see also this on the bulletin. So which one is correct?

  2. Hello Folks,

I have a brother overseas that my mom has petitioned for him to come to the US early 2020 and his case has been under "CASE IS BEING ACTIVELY REVIEWED BY USCIS" for over 500 days. The thing is that My parents, my youngest brother and myself are all together, except him as he was 21 and a couple of months old when mom petitioned for him.

My question is, is it a good idea to hire a lawyer to expedite his case or it is a waste of money and effort? He has been waiting for over three years now and we don't knw how much longer he still has to wait.

    Best,

    Sam :)

No need to send the old I-864 and I-864A through Aramex (or document drop off if your brother is coming to Jordan for his interview). That information is technically outdated anyway! Fill out a new I-864 for your parent to sign and I’m assuming the new I-864A is to be signed by you. You’ll need to provide 2021 tax transcript + W2/1099 too as right now they’re the most recent tax returns that can be requested.

Uploaded the updated documents to CEAC + let your brother send them to the embassy. Good luck!

    Thank you!

  4. Hi All,

My brother is having an immigrant interview soon under the F22 category and there's a packet that he needs to drop off at US Embassy a couple of weeks before the interview takes place. One thing is confusing is whether we need to submit copies of the original l-864 and l-864A with most recent W-2 or tax returns. We have uploaded those on CEAC more than 2 years ago, so could you elaborate more on that please?

    I appreciate your help!

  5. Hi all,

my brother is waiting for an interview since May 2021 and every couple of months, he gets a notice from the embassy telling him he has to wait and they will let him know. I am not sure if you guys are in category 1 but he is F2A category.

    Thanks

  6. Hi All,

My dad has had a Green Card for less than 5 years. However, his current employer does not offer medical insurance. The State of Illinois has a new program that provides health coverage for people who are 55-64 years old which immigration status prevents them from getting regular Medicaid. Based on that program, my dad was approved, and he was issued an ID number under what is called Temporary Medicaid. I called the State this morning to ask if this affects his eligibility of becoming a citizen later on and they said no. I'd like to see if there's anyone who can advise further because sometimes State employees are not well rounded with immigration law.

    Thank you!

    Sam

  7. It’s been 90 days since entry in the US and more than 90 days for fees being paid for green card. I called USCIS because dad’s green card hasn’t arrived yet and they created a case for that and escalated it to immigration officer then they gave us a long case number. Any idea how it actually takes to get an update as they said 30 days but isn’t that too long after waiting 90 days. Please share your experience and many thanks.

  8. Hello everyone,

I have a quick question here, my dads visa application for IR5 visa was in administrative processing for almost two years until the embassy finally asked for his passport, two new photos, medical exam and a new police certificate. After two weeks which happened to be this morning, I saw ceac status as REFUSED which made me panic.

would this status alter or any thoughts please?

    thank you!!!

He will have some age-out protection because of CSPA, without knowing details if he just turned 21 then almost certainly his CSPA age is still under 21. If you submit the documents then you (he) will lock in that CSPA age under 21. How long to get the interview depends on which embassy he is at ( the queue of backlogged visa applicants at that embassy, Covid restrictions etc)

    Thank you for the reply!

If your mom is a US citizen or a Legal Perm Residence, then use the birth date shown on her passport, naturalization certificate, Green card, etc.

Name and address in native language can be included at the end of the form as supplemental/additional information. Any official Jordanian document showing name or address in Arabic would suffice. This may be birth certificate, police certificates, etc.

    Thanks for the feedback!

  11. Hello Folks,

My mom is in the process of petitioning for my brothers to bring them to the US as LPRs, online.

One of the requirements to submit is a document that shows the beneficiary’s name in native letters, in this case Arabic. But the requirement is also to submit a document showing the name in native letters and address.

I know that the passport has this info but not the address though.

Any idea which document I need to submit here? It’s confusing.

also my mom’s parents’ date of birth is not known so is it okay that the petitioner’s parents’ date of birth would be left blank in the form?

I appreciate your responses on this
