  1. Once the visa gets approved and they deliver your passport to the address you gave them, does anyone know what happens if no one would be there to receive it? (Country specific Philippines) would they redeliver it? Would they text/contact you for a convenient time for the delivery?

You can check CEAC status to know if you case file has reached the embassy and is ready for your interview.

But I would not sit around waiting for that to happen.  Most case files are delivered to the embassy within two weeks.

You have your MNL# !!  Do not sit around burning daylight!   Follow the flashing arrow below and get started!

If you are on a phone here is the link  http://visaconnection-philippines.com/index.php/2-visa-process/3-usem-k-1-visa

Thank you VERY MUCH for these information 🙂

No problem at all. The average is about 10-15 working days. So since it's only been about 8 so far don't worry. Also now that you have the MNL# you can go ahead and pay for interview as well.

Also, is it true that the Medical has an expiration date? If I do my medical early would there be a certain number of days for it to be valid for the Embassy to accept it?

The embassy might not tell you info over the phone honestly..

And as long as you have your NVC case number (MNL**********), then you can set up the medical and get it done yes. Just take a copy of the NVC case letter with you as well as the other required items.

Can check your case status here also under "Immigrant" visa using the MNL case number : https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx?eQs=WwjqOlbeRYzCYubaSQI+RA==    Once it says "Ready for interview" under status then you can also set up the interview and pay online or at BPI.

Leave about 1-2 weeks between medical and interview.

Also you can go a head and complete the CFO course, you just have to return later after you receive approval at the interview and have visa in hand for the final stamp/certificate for immigrations. http://www.cfo.gov.ph/

Also go a head and get your birth certificate( couple copies) CENOMAR, NBI clearance, any police reports if needed ect.

Thank you! My fiance got an email from the NVC and he forwarded it to me, would that be okay? Also, how long have you waited for your case to be received by the embassy?

I apoligize for the last post I was having problems with my keyboard. But all you need in order to start rocking and rolling is the MNL# and the letter from the NVC. Please note that the person in the Philippines either you or your fiance WILL NOT be receiving the letter from the NVC, but the petitioner will get that letter. This is a common misconception that the beneficiary will get the letter, when that is not true. I was able to email that letter to my fiance and she was able to go get her medical done after she received it.

  7. Hello! Our case was delivered to the Philippines on March 20 and I've been calling the embassy to check if they already have it and they still don't. How long does it usually take? Also, would it be alright to have my Medical Exam at St. Luke's even if the case isn't at the the embassy yet? Thank you in advance! ?

It looks like it may be going to Philpost now, then on to the province. What province is it going to? Once it gets there you can not track it. Next time if it's just documents then scan them and email them.

It's going to Baguio, I'll definitely do that next time and just send the things that just needs a signature.

i hope I can stop it when it's in Manila, so when my fiancée can just pick it up before if it gets lost or stolen  :/

Never ever send anything of any value to the Philippines using USPS. I did it one time before and it took almost 3 month for my friend to get it in Korondal, and I only believe that they received it because we kept following up with it.

im a little worried since I sent copies of my w2, birth certificate, pay stubs, passport. And such that were required for packet 3 for k1. But I do have a tracking number on there. Right now it it say on th usps site "Your item departed a transfer airport in METROPOLITAN AREA, MANILA, PHILIPPINES on March 26, 2017 at 5:45 pm. The item is currently in transit to the destination." Does this mean it's already going to the province I'm sending it to? :/

USPS themselves are are fine for delivery IMHO (albeit I'm biased as I do non-delivery work for them), but they don't have a presence overseas, obviously. They have to coordinate with the local carriers in the destination country, and that's where all sorts of problems arise. Personally, I'd say go with another carrier if it's important to you.

Yeah, I agree with you. When I ask the lady at usps she told me it would take 7-10 days to arrive in The province. That's why I didn't really question too much until my fiancée told me it would take additional month or 2 to actually receive it. :/

Perhaps you can just ask your local post office about the date of its arrival or schedule a pick up. Now I remember my cousin used it as well while they were doing their CR1 and it takes around 3 weeks for her to claim any correspondence/packet sent.

I'll definitely try that first  before I reprint everything and re send it though fedex

Mine took 17days. Wait for few more days.

One more thing..all of you who is waiting for there NO2's NVC NUMBER. Register on ASK NVC. when i woke up yesterday. They are the one who send my NVC number and i was shocked! And they send it EARLY MORNING.

    Heres the link

    https://secureforms.travel.state.gov/ask-nvc.php

Do you get your nvc # instantly by using the "ask nvc" thing?

i just received my noa2 3 days ago. Should I wait before doing this?

  13. Hello! I was just wondering if anyone else noticed that the California Sevice Center progress keeps changing. So I checked on January 23,2017 and it said that they were already processing the November 27,2016 NOA2. Then, I checked three days after and it went back to November 23,2016. It happened again when I checked yesterday and it said that they were processing December 2,2016 but when I checked again today, it went back AGAIN to November 27. does anybody know why this is happening?? Cause the two other service center seem to be only going forward ?
