I downloaded the USCIS app yesterday and I'm having way too much fun constantly checking it...I was way too excited when it told me cases similar to mine had updates, even though they were RFE's from October. I need a new hobby!

I'm road tripping next week to go visit my fiance though and we're having our engagement photos done, so at least once those are taken I will have something in a shorter time frame to wait for! Maybe that will make the wait easier? One can hope  Fingers crossed I get a happy border patrol agent. I've been lucky so far and they usually smile once I tell them why I'm going to the states. I've memorized the question/answer format by now. "Going to Minnesota, sir! To visit my FIANCE (!!yay!) and have our engagement photos done! We met on reddit! 9 days, 10 if the weather is bad! Thank you sir!". I wonder if there will be more questions now that he's my fiance and not just my boyfriend... NOW I'M NERVOUS!

I did the app, quickly deleted it, ha! That is too fuuny though ?. This site has me finding so many nuggets, talk about needing a new hobby, LOL. What a great distraction with the pics, it's becoming more real, woot! How fortunate you have the option to road trip ?. Drive safe and from a Minnesotan ? WELCOME ?

Hi everyone - glad to join this thread and take the ride along with everyone else who applied in January.  I first met my fiance during Christmas when I proposed to her. I have been back from the Philippines since Jan 11th and the pain of seeing how slow this process is moving is absolute torture.  I know all of us are experiencing the same feelings being away from the person we desire so badly to have in our life.  I was reading the Nov 2016 I-129F Flier blog and some of those applicants are still waiting for NOA2 since October.  I'm glad that we are all in this together and will be holding each other up.  I'm staying positive as many of the applicants in January have significantly decreased compared to December and November.  I've decided to take another trip to visit my fiance departing JFK on March 10th to spend two weeks with her and prepare for the next steps after we obtain our NOA2.  I look forward to supporting one another and watching how we all progress.  Cheers to all of us on this VISA timeline and good luck to everyone!!!!!!

Heya, so exciting to have so many people from around the globe on the same journey. I myself have been back since mid December 2016 and feels like forever. I think there was a big rush to beat the new fee. Seems approvals are increasing so we have some things in our favor to continue to speed up. Always see the positive, Safe travels!! ?

So I have a question for those who may know...I have been offered another position in the same area. I make really good money and have a great work history..How would changing jobs impact my application? I have no problem passing on this opportunity as being with the love of my life is all that matters

Nothing like a great opportunity to further provide!!! I have seen this discussed just don't recall, out of the tons of forums I've read. Maybe would just require additional explanation and verificatuon. Someone is sure to provide you clarity, peeps here are so helpful ☺

Unfortunately this is true, particularly with the filing fee rising by nearly 60%!

However, one of the blessings of this process taking some time, is that you can plan ahead and give yourself some time to save each month. After the filing fee, you most likely wont have any other expenses until your application has cleared the NVC and your embassy asks you to schedule your interview.

Depending on your country, some things require a varying cost (my police certificate for Germany was much cheaper than England for example), but make a spreadsheet to time when you might want to pay for each thing! Get a quote from a doctor on the medical examination, and how much any vaccinations you're missing might cost.

So true, which I've done and continue to do as far as saving and planning ahead. I'm a realist ? ...

Well, I barely made it in the January group! I mailed our petition on January 31st and USPS says it was signed for on February 6th (why so long??!?) The check still hasn't cleared (I may or may not be looking at my bank balance several times a day) and of course still waiting for the NOA1.

    Let the waiting begin...

On a positive note, I will see him in 29 days!!

I don't think that seems long ... hold on, its coming!!! Lucky you, embrace the moments ?

Yep we sent a bunch of other forms of proof, but I still can't believe we completely overlooked that! The only information it shows are the usernames and discussion and that's about it. If we were smart we could have gone into the settings section where it shows your email address above the username and taken a screenshot of that along with the conversations to show that it's us. sigh.  Too late now! I'm fully prepared to have to send that out in the event we get an RFE

If you have plenty other proof I would say stop stressin ha!! I could easily get caught up in "things" if I analyze what I did or didn't do ?. Besides, they're prolly aware of that site and just overlook it because of the other evidence you provided. Be positive ?

I've been in a constant slight state of panic since realizing that there's a very high chance we get an RFE. We use GroupMe mostly to communicate and use different names on it and didn't even think of this when taking screenshots as proof. We both use the same fake last name and fake first names, which is going to look weird to whoever is going through our petition. Ughghg. Fiance keeps telling me not to worry and that it won't be the end of the world, but I really wanted to help this all go as smoothly as possible, yet we managed to overlook this important detail. At least this is the most of our worries right now!

Did you send other forms of proof? I could see how this would concern you ?. I'm not familiar with that site, is there anything on the very top of the screenshots/thread that signifies any factual information?

    Hi everyone,

I finally found the January filers thread! Reading through all the comments has eased my anxiety a little. I sent in my I-129F to the Lewisville lockbox on 1/23 and it was delivered on 1/27. No email, no text, and the check still hasn't been cashed -_- normally I'm an extremely patient person... but the past week has been brutal.

    Good Luck y'all!

    -taylor

Welcome! I have found this site as a great resource, so to ease the wait I research what's ahead. I am a bit eager however it's great preparation as the journey continues ?

We almost missed it, too - it was only through luck that I caught the increase in time to get the correct fee sent off. They will reject your case now, due to the incorrect fee. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. As far as I'm aware, you can't send an additional check - you will have to resubmit your packet with a new check for the correct amount, once you get the rejection. I'm sorry, I know this kind of delay must be so disappointing when the process is so damn long anyway :(

I almost made the same error as well, good thing I continued to research and go over my packet.  I agree with your feedback Nat023 ?

Just saw the fee is more. Grrr. So, should I call their customer service number? Where do I send the excess? Will they reject it wholesale? Mildly freaking out.

So sorry, I would call and get direction. I have read on this site of others sending the wrong amount and their packet being sent back. Of course these were closer to the date change. Good luck

Yes it can be expensive, if you ever notice when your out they always wanna charge more because of being American, this drives my husband crazy sometimes, but it's easier for me since I kinda look like them lol, there are times when he says for me to not talk so we pay regular price for things, that is how they are in Ghana

Ha, so true, when I travel to Liberia we tell them we don't want the white lady price or I stay behind and then go with after he's made arrangements !!! ???

You can collect tax returns, and such.

As for the I-134, current pay stubs, employer letter, those should be recent up to the interview almost or as close as can be.

Honestly, the letter from employer and I-134 signed by the petitoner are only 'originals' needed. the rest are all printed copies anyways, those could be emailed and printed.

I just used FedEx and sent everything myself to my partner about 2-3 weeks before the interview.

As for the bank account records, can't say myself, didn't use that as I just used my income for the financial support.

Could you guide me where it states that the letter from employer and the I-134 need to be originals? I am getting conflicting feedback. I also did not find this in the instructions?
