  1. Hi all,

My wife and I recently moved, and we changed our address on all relevant forms (of course thanks to support and help from others on these boards).

After updating our address online at uscis.gov, I received confirmation e-mails saying to expect a reply by Sept. 23.

Obviously we are almost a week past that date, so a few questions:

    1. Should I be concerned I have not heard back from USCIS yet about the change of address?
    2. What would USCIS be be reaching out to us about anyways? Just confirmation of the change of address?
    3. Should I try to reach out to anyone at USCIS given the timeline above?
    4. What can we expect in terms of timeline for scheduling my wife's interview? We are Feb. 2017 filers (I-485, I-130, and I-765, EAD has already been received). Curious if anyone has any insight on whether the move could potentially speed up/slow down our wait.

Thank you all, as always, for your advice and counsel. Much appreciated!

  2. Thank you all for your responses, greatly appreciated!

I submitted the change of address online for my wife (for forms I-485 and I-765), for myself (I-130), and I mailed in the I-865 as well. I think this should take care of all of our obligations - any comments/concerns are welcome if you see something wrong/missing.

Really grateful for all of your help! :D

  3. Hi all,

    Two questions:

    1. When changing address online (here), do you have to submit the change of address forms for both the petitioner and applicant (beneficiary) or does it suffice to submit for only one of those two?
    2. When I click the link above (again here), is there a special place to submit the form AR-11? Or does my submission of changes for the relevant pending applications/petitions using our receipt numbers represent also submitting the AR-11?

    Thank you!

  4. Hello all,

    Two questions:

    1. At what point is it worth following up to see when my wife's I-485 (AOS) interview will be scheduled?

    2. How does one go about doing that?

Context: My wife is adjusting status from H1B to LPR. EAD card was received on May 13, 2017 (day 98). Currently on Day 140 of her application (from mailing date of entire package).

Thank you for your help, much appreciated!

  5. Hello all,

I would like to ask a few questions about the following hypothetical situation.

Let's say I am a US citizen working abroad as an expat for a company, and my wife is a legal permanent resident (LPR). Here are my questions:

    1. How long can my wife be out of the US and retain her citizenship?
    2. How often must she return to the US to maintain her LPR status?
    3. Would the years that we spend living abroad while I am working as an expat count toward her years required for applying for citizenship?

Thank you for your time and help, much appreciated!

    Mike

  6. Hello all,

I received texts and e-mails from USCIS on 2/14/17 indicating cases had been accepted (I-130, I-485, and I-765) and routed to National Benefits Centers. Checks for I-485 and I-130 also cashed the same day.

Question is: does this mean everything was OK with the applications? Or is there still a chance that an RFE will be requested/application will be returned?

Would greatly appreciate if anyone can share their experiences/thoughts/opinions.

    Thank you!

  7. Hi All,

We are about to submit my wife's application for her AOS - would greatly appreciate if any of you could review the application cover letter below and point out any errors/issues/omissions, or anything else you think could help our application package. Much appreciated!

To give a bit of context, my wife holds an H-1B visa, and we were married in the last two months.

    Thank you!

  8. Hello all,

My wife has her H-1B visa and we are not planning to travel while her green card application is being processed.

Given the above, is it correct to say that she does not need to file her form I-131 (Application for Travel Document)?

This is what I am able to glean from trying to read between the lines, but I cannot find a definitive yes/no answer. Would appreciate any insight.

    Thank you!
