Checking in. Less than 48 hours to go for interview. Kind of freaking thinking of all short of outcomes. God help me!
There is only one outcome. You get a visa stamped.
In some cases I have seen them hold the stamping till some documents are recieved. This as a done deal unless due to some major medical issues.

Speaking of IAD (Washington Dulles), I am told by reliable sources that yesterday people were being deported. May of who's nationalities (visitors/green card) were not on the Trump EO. Hopefully, some sanity prevails and this mess does not affect our process... Let's pray some sanity prevails.

Hello everyone. It's been a while.
An update. Me and my hubby entered the US on Jan 19 from IAD and the experience of that one was just....don't ask.
Anyways we are here and well I have a question regarding green card, can someone help? I applied before entering and I tried to find the case status online via the uscis website but I get a user defined error, what does that mean? How long it took for most people to get their green card? Does anyone know?
4What was the experience like? We will also be using the same airport.

@H&L thanks we can't get checklist for not sending Proof of US status right?
Depends on what you submitted. If you submitted I-864 as a joint sponsor then you need to send proof of status

The petitioner only needs to send proof of us status if -
If you completed Form I-864 as a joint sponsor, submit proof that you are a U.S. citizen, U.S. national, or Lawful Permanent Resident. You can do this by submitting a photocopy of one of the following documents:
- Birth certificate showing birth in the United States;
- U.S. Naturalization Certificate;
- U.S. passport/passport card;
- Form I-551 “green card;” or
- Foreign passport containing Form I-94 with I-551 stamp (if you entered the United States by land) or an electronic Form I-94 record (if you entered the United States by air or sea). You can request an electronic Form I-94 recordfrom USCIS online.

Hopefully no one here is from Iraq, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan and Yemen, or Syria
"U.S. President Donald Trump is expected to sign several executive orders on Wednesday restricting immigration from Syria and six other Middle Eastern or African countries, according to several congressional aides and immigration experts briefed on the matter"

Someone with more legal knowledge would be better answering your questions. To my knowledge immigration is not something he can just write an 'executive order' on. It has to go through the legislative branch first (checks and balances).
Furthermore, our supreme court ruled that gay marriages had to be treated "equal" to "traditional" marriages. Without the supreme court changing that ruling, I can't see how the legislative branch or the President could sign into law something that specifically treats gay marriages as "different" from a legal standpoint. If we recognise gay marriage in our country, we have to recognise gay marriages done outside the country.
That is my opinion. Hopefully I'm not wrong.
Even if he was to put a temporary stop, he would ask the USCIS to stop approving petitions. If you are at the NVC stage, you should be past his radar.

Happy weekend guys,
I've been following this thread for weeks now. Its very sad to see how inefficient the NVC is and how their delay, even though they collect huge money upfront, is causing families to be apart and in some cases tear apart. What's going to happen is some day we will get over this hurdle, forget this time, and move one. Then the next batch of petitioners will have to deal with this mess. My suggestion is we start an online petition and try to collect as may sign it as possible.
- We can use the petition as a reinforcement if we need to reach out our local Senators for help
- With many signatures hopefully, some will start to take notice. Specially when they find out that NVC is a 3rd part run center, so more scrutiny
- This will be our way of helping the future applicants.
I would love to draft the petition myself but being an engineer and spending my days counting ones and zeros, I can barely write more than a paragraph that makes sense. Can we have a volenteer, or perhaps a few that can draft this petition?
Any suggesting are welcome. I don't think anyone deserves to go through this long and uncertain delay. Run it like a business.. we are paying for it.
They charge us $160 to review AOS and per some job posts I have seen for NVC, they pay then $12 an hour. Who's making the big bucks by keeping our family apart?
