Hello guys, I received RFE on my I-485 case regarding my birth certificate. I was born in Bangkok Thailand, my parents were both Taiwanese and I am a Taiwanese citizen. My mom chose to give birth at home, the natural path. So they never obtained any birth certificate for me. When I filed my I-485, I provided 3 documents to show them that I was born in Thailand. 1) Affidavit of birth by my mother 2) copy of my passport page showing my birth place 3) a copy of a Taiwanese property statement indicating my birth location (stamped/sealed).
So now they are asking for more, or so-called "secondary evidence...: where a record does not exist, the applicant or petitioner must submit an original written statement on government letterhead establishing this from the relevant government or other authority. The statement must indicate the reason the record does not exist, and indicate whether similar records for the time and place are available."
Any suggestions?
Thanks

Bumping again, still haven't received any notice and the checks still haven't been cashed.
Did you hear anything from them yet?

It takes about 2-3 weeks. Just wait for it. They received mine on the 27th and I only got the e-Notifications on the 12th. There are people who got their packets received before the 27th and still got no notifications yet. Be patient
Cool thanks. BTW NOA is not the same as that G1145 notification??

Hello guys, so it's been couple weeks since we mailed out my paperwork, I filed my petition with G-1145 e notification, I didn't receive anything thus far...
here's my story... I came to the U.S. on an F-1 VISA, worked with my OPT (EAD card). Met my wife about a year ago, we got married last year before Christmas (2016). We mailed in our paperwork to the Chicago office on 12/30/16 via FedEx, they received it on 1/4/17. They say it takes about 10 days to receive notification from them, knowing that I filed G-1145... is that a little odd? In addition, I also filed to expedite due to emergency situation/financial loss. Should I call them and see what's going on? Any pro tip?
Thanks in advance...
Reserve and naturalization - 1y or instant?

that's awesome. I am looking into joining the military as well, but I prefer being on reserve. Is your wife doing active duty or reserve, and which branch?
Thanks
