SO you just had your interview on Thursday

Everyone goes through AP at some point, which can be very brief while your visa is processed and is what most people go through

If your AP is for other reasons such as missing documentation or pending security checks then AP can last longer - months to years

Yes it is possible to be told your at the interview that your visa is approved, and still end up in true AP

Kastrs you're right. My fiance went for his interview September 2016 and he was told that his visa was approved and they took his passport and was asked to register with aramex. As I type it has been seven months still on AP, they have not ask for no documents. This is very painful for us. I pray mehdi-T don't go through such. Just hope for a call soon .

It may just be because they have to do extra background checks. If no other documents were asked for they are most likely just going to review the case more and do background checks on your fiancé.

There is no set time on AP cases. Plus it is not uncommon for people from Morocco to go through AP.

Howare you dear, had the embassy get on to you please?

Morocco is known for denying K1 visas

Do not expect any information about your case now from USICS / when K 1 is returned to USCIS nothing happens / no review

    they allow it to expire

    Marry and apply spouse visa

    steps to marry in Morocco

    10. If possible, do a trip to another city for a honeymoon and photos of that

Adil & Jeanne  how are you dear, I really need your advice on my case. My fiance went for interview on the 9th September 2016 and he was told that they approve him, and they kept his passport. They didn't ask for any more documents. And it been six months now no visa,  they ended up placing us on AP. I've called to know if they needed anything they said no. Since December when they last updated the case. On the 6th,7th and 8th this March it has been updated.  Do you think we should be expecting good news at any time now. Pls .

    Hello Lizlus,

With AP, no one can really tell what is going on or when the process is going to end. My case has been pending AP since November 2016 yet they are holding my passport, and no matter how many times I try enquiring, the answer is still the same. The embassy is not allowed to give out any information concerning administrative processing. My date was updated everyday for a whole week in February but no change in status. So all you can do now is be patient and hope your visa will be issued soon.

Thanks dear, I just pray that they make decision this week that will favor us. Today again the case has been updated,  our case has been since September. We're believing God for it to end this month.

    Did they keep your passport?

Did they ask for any additional documents"

IF not, be prepared to get the notice that the case is sent back to the US

and when that happens it is allowed to die / no appeal for K1

I hope she can return to Morocco and marry

We went thru this and completely understand your frustration

seems very heartbreaking and inhuman to put us thru this

Write to me if you need the instructions to marry in Morocco with US citizen as it takes traveling to Casa embassy and Rabat to Foreign minister office and then back to your city

I think you have to be patient,  my fiance is going through the same line. He went for interview on the 9th/9/2016,  and he was told that they approved his visa and they took his passport. As I write he is still on AP, they send the same information about sending back the case but they didn't send it. They still kept his passport,  my senator write them, they said let's wait maximum 60 days for final decision. We're praying for God to help us.

Good day and my apologies if this information is posted elsewhere. I searched and couldn't seem to find what I am needing help with understanding.

My NOA2 was July 1st and after calling the NVC several times a week, on Aug. 1 I finally received information. They gave me my case number, invoice ID, and when I mentioned that I'd like to request an expedite, they said I couldn't, as it was already sent to the embassy on July 29.

I'd requested an expedite with USCIS and was denied. I requested again with NVC after my NOA2 via e-mail, but it was before my case number was generated and I received a canned e-mail reply that nothing could be done as I was not in their system at that time.

I am really confused - I wasn't told that they expedited my case at all, just that I couldn't request it since it already left for the embassy. Possibly I was expedited and the rep. simply didn't mention this to me?

Today I filled out the DS-160. It would log me out of the application after 1 or 2 minutes of inactivity (no exaggeration) and I had to stop and save at each page to keep it from doing this. After finally getting it completed, I was given the confirmation page with only instructions to bring it to the interview - nothing more. When I try to check my status on ceac.state.gov, it simply says "No Status", today's date as the Case Creation Date, and to contact the U.S. Consular office responsible for processing our visa application.

When I try to pay fees online, I receive the following message:

"The National Visa Center has forwarded your file to the US Embassy/Consulate where you are applying for an immigrant visa. Any other required fees must now be paid directly at the Embassy or Consulate at the time of your interview."

I am so confused at this point. The NVC flow charts and other references I see seem to be very different from what I am experiencing thus far. Are we simply to wait for contact from the embassy for our next step? To recap, we've not paid any fees or sent in any paperwork at all.

If anyone can point me in the right direction or provide any guidance of any sorts, I would be appreciative of your help. Again, my apologies if I've missed an obvious area or post already addressing this.

Thanks in advance and best of luck to everyone. :)

Hi , we went for interview the same day, 9th /9/2016. And I'm still on AP, any update please.

We were told they sent it back to USCIS in States so filing FOIA at USCIS and also asking legalnet for more information.

We are going to file CR1 instead because the K1 is pain.

Good luck with your case!!! Hopefully, you will get your visa soon. Did you already register on the site for visa? If your passport is still there, and you didn't register for the visa online, it could be a reason that it still held up.

Ohhh I'm so sorry about your case, yes I registered with aramex, and my case they keep telling me it on AP

Which country is he from? Some country have almost automatic AP (extra security checks) after the interview, and then now of course there is issues with Trump's executive order.

You could try contacting the immigration office at your Representative's office and see if they an find out more.

He's from Sierra Leone but working as a pastor in Morocco. My representative write the embassy,  they said that we should wait the case is under review. With 60 days they will take a decision
