It will take around 6 to 10 months for the I-130 to be approved but that is just the petition, not the visa application. The visa application is the next part of the process. Then there is the medical and interview. Overall you need to allow around 12 to 14 months.
12-14 months until he is here?

One year for the I-130 or the whole process? If not the whole process, how long does that take?

I am a US citizen and I applying for my husband who is a Jamaican citizen. I have filed the I-130 and I have a receipt of October 5th of this year (2017). Does anyone know how long it will take from this point to get my husband home with Me? Also, what is the next step going to be? Thank you!

As long as your partner is truthful in all forms, in the interview, and with CBP, and does not intend to stay in the US when he visits, then you're clear. By clear, I mean he can apply and hope for the best.
After your wedding, you can apply for a CR-1 visa via form I-130. This will take roughly a year, but be ready for a wait of up to 18 months just in case.
Good luck!
Thank you!

Really? The title of this topic is "Getting married June 3rd"
We are getting married June 3rd permitting him and my kids mesh well on his (hopeful) visit in March. There have not been any papers signed and there is nothing set in stone.

He is going to tell them we are thinking about it, but nothing is definite yet. That is part of the reason we need this visit, to test waters before we make any life changing decisions. That's the truth

What am I lying about?

We are planning on bringing his son to live with us after we get him here and settled. His son will be staying with family while he visits.

His son lIves with him right now. He is telling them that, so I am thinking that should be a strongood enough tie. What do you think?

We are not telling them we are gettingredients married for the B-2. We are telling that he is coming to meet my family (which is the truth).

Hi! My name is Tabitha and I am new to this page. My fiancee lives in Jamaica and we are getting married June 3rd in Jamaica. Can you all please help me out as to what we need to do? We are both new to this and we don't want to miss anything or do anything to cause delays. Any and all advice is welcomed. Thanks in advance.
