I understand this enterprise is still going strong. https://www.uship.com/
Compared to a household goods mover who has a 2100# minimum, maybe this would be an option.
Other than this, I wouldn't have any idea, except renting a Penske van
Thank you. I did post on there and got zero bids.

Hi all,
Are there are recent threads on different moving options for Canada to the US?
I saw old posts and a lot of people used UPack but those are very old and my quote for the smallest option to ship was quoted at $2300 which it crazy seeing as it's mostly clothing, shoes, and some personal effects that I'm looking to move.
I'm going from BC to Texas. If anyone has any info or if I've missed a thread that has all the info (the likely case), please let me know.
Thank you!!!

Just an FYI - I ran my scan after midnight (EST) due to the maintenance window. However, I saw no updates at all (no RFEs, no approvals, etc.). CSC was open today, so this sounds like their system just hasn't updated, so that's why there's nothing to report for today. I will re-scan in the afternoon tomorrow.
thanks Geo

I am a December filer. I check the processing times monthly and as of today every service center is listed as July 28, 2016 as of December 31, 2016? Can anyone explain this to me? It's discouraging to see it go from August 2016 to this on the USCIS site and simultaneously encouraging to hear so many late November cases are being approved, and talk of December being as soon as next week.
Not sure anyone answered this yet but the USCIS date is not accurate. They may have unfinished files going back that far but they are currently working on new November files. Just follow this threat to see the progress. Geowrian posts an update every business working day (no holiday postings) around 8:30pm PST. That's the information you're looking for. Forget the Visa Journey estimates and the USCIS date; just follow this thread.

This afternoon, I left for a work conference in San Francisco. I decided that I wasn't going to think about the visa at all -- I was just going to enjoy being in California. The plane landed, I took my phone out of airplane mode, and the app said APPROVED!!!!!! I almost burst into tears in seat 23B. I keep checking the app again just to make sure it's real!
Congratulations!!! Awesome news!!!

The negatives are caused by the addition of the new records added today. They won't appear moving forward.
NOTE: I removed the cases with "approved" and other "final" statuses (Rejected, Denials, etc.) as of yesterday from my list, and added the remaining ~300 cases from Dec from my original list. If something was missed then let me know.
Wow, lots of activity today. Nice!
Thank you for the good news, Geo!

I was an examiner for the US Patent Office. I wonder if the folk examining our applications at USCIS go through a similar process like I did at the patent office. In the old days, the US Patent office had paper applications like USCIS has now. When an examiner requested applications to work on, we would physically receive 10 or maybe 20 applications on our desk at a time. The examiners would review the applications one at at time, but we would do the easy ones first, because we were working on a production schedule, and not by the hour. The easy ones were worth as much as a hard one, and its human nature to do the easy ones first. And lets say an examiner ordered 20 applications to work on, but then went on a short vacation, was out sick, was out for any reason really - an application might sit in his/her office for days, maybe weeks longer than other applications with the same filing date that are being worked by examiners who are actually at work those days. Reviewing geo's graph, it seems something similar might be happening at USCIS. Not trying to knock the process. Just trying to understand. Those who know, please correct me
And does anyone know if the USCIS examiners work on production? IMPORTANT question!
There was a comment in the old thread about the adjudicators getting audited once a week and it sounds as if its something similar to your US patent situation.

For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction.
Slower day today. That said, late Nov. cases are starting to be approved in addition to the early and mid Nov. cases.
Note: 2 cases were approved today mixed in with the Dec. filers. They were, however, Nov. filers just with later case numbers. USCIS, please...
10 files for 28Nov processed!!! So awesome!!!

Howdy, all although I am a December filer, early December but still December. Following your posts has been inspirational. I can commiserate with those you have been waiting for forever and vicariously be happy for those who have gotten their approvals.
Not being a November filer I don't have any standing but I don't find anyone's griping about still waiting to bring me down. Nobody has flamed anyone who received theirs. Fortunately when someone is complaining I'm usually in a good mood and when I am bummed out someone gets their approval and I feel better. With all that said I am by no means a patient person. But I've been deployed multiple times and that taught me a lot about being patient. We can't control the situation. We can only control our reaction to it. Soon folks. Soon we will all have them.
I look forward to the day I can type to you all I got mine. If my thumbs arent shaking too bad to write. ?
lol My fiancé is familiar with deployment and his tolerance for waiting far exceeds mine. Quite amazing to see how those experiences have afforded some the gift of patience.

I think this is a great forum where people can be honest about their current emotions and it's comforting to hear there are others going through the same thing, positive or negative - especially when eveyone on this forum is away from the person we might normally express those emotions to. I'm not a huge fan of negative posts, but every person's experience here is valid, and it's easy to skip them if you're not in the mood to read them.
No, they're not easy to skip. You have to read them to know to skip them...
I agree this is the appropriate place to express concerns and whatever emotions one may be having but you don't need to say five times a day that they haven't touched your file or that you're frustrated that file dates after yours have been worked. These types of comments have zero value to the poster and to the reader.
If you have a bad day and cried in the shower for an hour, feel free to write that and we will all do our best to comfort and cry with you and cheer you up. Complaining that your file hasn't been touched and you've been waiting 70 days is entirely unnecessary and sets a negative tone for others imho.

As we can all see from Geo's breakdown, they're not working on one specific date.
They're working on several dates throughout November. There is nothing anyone on this forum can do about the fact that later cases are being worked before earlier dates have been completed. Everyone here is anxious and nervous about their file and wanting to see CSC make some movement on their file. It would be helpful for everyone to try to stay positive in this thread and remember we are all in the same boat. Continual complaining that your file hasn't been touched doesn't change anything and its making this thread burdensome to read. I would like to ask that everyone please keep the negativity and complaining to an absolute minimum.

Okay, these are all great suggestions, everyone. Thank you! I will look into all of these. My fiancé said he does think the postal service might be the cheapest way for me.
I'm moving in a week and I haven't planned this out very well. I had every intention but then found out I'm pregnant and the last month has been work and exhaustion and sleep and constant nausea and very little else. So....things went quite sideways for me.
We WERE going to drive my stuff down and have a two week road trip with a Vegas wedding in the middle but decided to put that off since I already feel sick all the time and two weeks in a car would be horrible. Won't fit in my wedding dress anymore either.
Oh life, you are funny, aren't you!
Anyway, again, I appreciate the suggestions!!
