  1. Hello,

My wife and I recently moved to a different part of the country while her N400 is in process. I know that it's never ideal to move while one has an application pending for immigration benefits, but as we are all finding out these days, we cannot always control the circumstances of our lives. She applied online in early July and received a biometrics reuse notice the day we moved out of our old place.

We thought that this would be fast and easy since it was no problem the last time we had to update our address when she was still on her conditional green card some years ago. Instead, we are running into a technical problem and some confusion from the wording online.

First we logged onto to file the AR-11 form online, since that's what we did last time. We were greeted by this message:

"If you have a myUSCIS account, you should instead visit the myUSCIS login page (unless you fall into the category of "Victims of Domestic Violence, Trafficking, and Other Crimes" - then see above)."

Since she filed online, we then went to her my USCIS account and followed the process to change her address. However, when we click submit, we get the following error message:

"We are having trouble updating your profile information. Try again later."

We have already tried three days in a row and have received the same error message. We have 8 days left to fulfill the obligation of reporting a change of address within 10 days of a move and the clock is ticking....

To add to the confusion, toward the bottom of the change address page on myUSCIS, it says "Updating your contact information in your online account profile is the first step. Please submit Form AR-11 to complete the process."

This seems like a contradiction. The AR-11 page seems to suggest NOT to submit the online AR-11 form if one has a myUSCIS account. Should we just go ahead and file AR-11 regardless?

We just want to fulfill our legal obligation of respecting the 10 day deadline and get her case transferred to the proper jurisdiction as swiftly as possible.

    Thanks for your help!

  2. Hello,

I'm getting ready to filing DCF at Rome, Italy for my spouse. I understand that while my spouse's visa is in process, she will not be eligible for any other visas to the USA, and will therefore have to renounce any USA travel during this period of time.

I have concerned family members back in the States who are worried that I, as sponsor, would also be subject to similar travel restrictions. This seems unlikely to me, given my status as native-born US Citizen, but I have not been able to find any information explicitly saying whether or not I can travel to the US during this process.

Thanks for your attention and replies.
