Some of the services can apply for naturalization once you are in & at

a certain point ( I can speak only to the Navy) by the time you do boot

camp etc  they will do the paperwork based on you being in the service,

so if the enlister told you that then it applies to that service too.

If you are no longer with your wife you cant naturalize via her, so it will

be after you enter the dervice

Thank you it works for National Guard. So i think thats what am gonna do

    US is not at war.

You can speed up the transition to USC from GC through serving in the military, but that would require 1 year wait post-GC approval.

Trust me they are at war right now, Mr. president haven't withdraw anyone or stop deployment as yet. No i had same problem as him.  The military would only require him to have atleast 6 months left on his green card (Conditional) the process starts as soon as he goto training. Pretty easy way, and when he finish training (if he did the documents and got transitioned while training) he will have his citizenship after his 10 weeks of training or during.

and yes that what you said is sorta a better term, but still is war. So pretty much "the war" part doesnt necessarily mean anything, pretty much just doing service gives him the benefit of being a citizen. Really easy.

Thats the only option i could say that he could use to save himself from deportation or what not.

    What? How does that work?

Last I checked, from CGC you have to go through ROC, and then have the standard green card with standard timelines for citizenship.

Oh it works only if he make an oath to serve the USA. Meaning joining the military or national guard.

He would get his citizenship within 10weeks after he complete his training

it says " If you enlist in the U.S. armed forces during wartime, you can apply for U.S. citizenship after as early as your first day of service. (See I.N.A. Section 329, 8 U.S.C. Section 1440.)"

well thats a tough one, but you do know there are ways to just go straight from CGC to U.S. Citizen you know right. :) would only take 10weeks

    Need immediate Respond

I am on my range for the removal of my conditional this year,

I am already divorce and my divorce is final

how long should a send a file to the USCIS for my removal of conditional ?

Just join the national guard like me, they will take your conditional green card and throw it in the trash and give you U.S. Citizenship instead haha.

I too had exact same problem as you! My marriage was same as you, But only way i saw saving myself was to join the National Guard (Which i love).

  6. Hey everyone, So my plan here is to  join the Air National Guard, because i wanna do law enforcement, but i'd need security clearance. So my plan is to enlist as another job after BCT I should become a U.S. Citizen and would no longer need a Conditional Green card. This is what my recruiter said. So have anyone enlisted into the military with a 2 year green card and just went straight to being a U.S. Citizen after they completed training (10 weeks)? Was it an hard process?

Also what documents should i bring with me to BCT just incase?

This will sorta save me, because too my marriage aint really going so well and if i get divorce then the military would technically save me because i'd be a citizen, and not a permanent resident.

    Good Evening All,

I entered NYC on the 1st of Nov on a K1 visa and just got married on Dec 10 this year. Now i am in the process of filling 3 forms I-131, I-765, I-485. Do i need to fill any forms other than that like biographic information or affidavit of support or medicals as i have done medicals before i got the K1 visa in May or June and my fiancee now wife had submitted an affidavit of support and i did my biomatrix before K1.. Could you please assist me with what has to be done now...and is there any form for temporary work visa till the actual work authorisation form is accepted.

Congrats you'll need  g-325a and i-864 and maybe an i-693 (medical). The most tedious forms to fill out for me was the I-864 and I485. If you do need to get your medical done though, its an easy process, you get around 5 injections and stuff. If you have insurance you wouldnt pay much, but at the time i didnt and i payed 587USD for all medicals. Cost may vary for you. So goodluck :)

I'll check that out. I'm assuming you couldn't e-file through turbotax could you?

Hi Maria, I should've been clearer. She left in Oct 2015 and re-entered the US in Nov 2016, so she would still be a nonresident.

I also have a bit of an issue with the health insurance. She wasn't insured for the last couple of months and I found out that I could fill out code "C" on form 8965 (did not live in the US and/or are not a citizen) to be exempt from the insurance penalty.

Do you know if electing her to be a resident for tax purposes would affect this?

hey again! Yes turbo tax is so easy, and everything is done online, both federal and state taxes. When joining turbo tax it will ask you if your married or single, i clicked married and it went through smoothly. I will be doing it again after i receive my w2's! Turbo tax is the most easiest thing i ever used.
