I came in US on F1 VISA and my OPT expired in June this year. I married my husband in July during my two month grace period after OPT. We are about to file our paperwork now, but many things are unclear. First, I overstayed for couple months and I really do not know what to put as my current USCIS status on I 485 and I 765? I have came across many possibilities on the internet, but not sure which one to trust. Second, my husband did not file taxes for 2014 due to low income, so do we need to check the box, on I 485 part 6 question 20, that says I wasn't required to file due to low income? He did file for 2015 and we will send a proof of that. Also I didn't mention we have a joint sponsor. Third, my husband has no assets that could help him become only sponsor, and his income is below poverty line. Since we have a joint sponsor, is my husband required to show any assets on I 485 or is it optional even when the income is below poverty line?
