That's very strange. She turned in the exact documents they wanted right? Were there any red flags in ya'lls case at all?

It's very strange that it went as far as going to a non-immigrant and then sent the passports back AGAIN. Was there anything with the returned passport? You may want to try to contact the consulate, they're either doing serious background checks or somethings not right on their end.

We actually went to get the passports low and behold the visa and packets were in the mail and in hand

just their email was confusing just like the other emails I received from them but thank god , we are celebrating here today , flying out of here on the 15th of january god willing

The only time that I saw a case creation date change was right before it went from being marked as an Immigrant Visa to a Non-Immigrant visa! It's possible they're transitioning it over or at least starting too which is a great sign!

UPDATE, date creation date changed , however still AP  and passports returned with no stamp , this is really nerve wrecking ,and very frustrating , never seen anything

    like this before , never

For me I think it had switched to Non-Immigrant on a Thursday, and then Issued on a Monday.

But once it's switched to Non-Immigrant it's pretty much issued, so congrats! =D

    thank you again

Thank  you Ash , indeed it went to Non Immigrant , in your experience , how long did it take when it changed to Issued ?

Any time anyone touches your case you'll see that the last update date will change to that day. Even just as simple as anyone opening your folder and adding a piece of paper, the person doing that SHOULD update your case as being updated that day.

People tend to misunderstand the many definitions of AP. there's AP because they're doing background checks, there's AP because a paper is owed and it's being waited for/processed/approved, AP simply because that means that the visa hasn't been issued yet.

Anytime anyone touches the visa to work on paperwork for it or it itself, doing background checks for it, even creating the visa, your case will switch to AP status. Visa's aren't just approved, printed out and slapped in a passport right there. There's a lot of hands it has to go through before it's completed, and as it's traveling from person A to B to C to issuance, it'll show AP.

There isn't a way to see which "AP" your in, but overall it doesn't matter too much because you can't really do anything with the information. You'll see AP before issuance, people who are approved may see AP before they see their approval or issuance (and it freaks them out).

Most people who end up having to turn in documents will see their status marked as AP, and then READY, and then back to AP before issuance.

Also the processing completed could simply mean that the document you sent has been processed in the mail room, sent to the person it needs to go to, and put in your file. It doesn't mean that it's been looked over, verified for accuracy and then sent to the person who is going to give the approval stamp.

seems you got a lot of experience on this , what happens or what is happening when the case creation changes from one date to an later date ?

  8. I just searched for my case number and it says ERROR, Case number not found. I have my visa in hand.

They have been updating the website (since September as far as I know) and it has been a mess in the meantime. Therefore I trust the CEAC website more.

It is possible they did finish processing on the embassy's end and the only step left is issuing the visa. Tuesday could be your lucky day! (They are off Monday for Christmas...)

Thank you so much my friend thank you , the question no one could answer is who updates CEAC ? The consulate or State Department ? and i will let you know what comes next week as well

    thank you thank you

  9. I am not sure what the IV status you are referring to is, where it says processing completed.

It is normal for CEAC to say AP, you are under administrative processing due to the documents you recently submitted. They literally have to process your documents. Nothing to worry or be concerned about.

Mine changed from AP to Ready to Issued in the course of a week.

Good luck with the waiting, I know it can be stressful!

You are welcome and Merry Christmas to you as well!

I am referring to the consular web site https://tr.usembassy.gov/visas/immigrant-visas/iv-status-check/, it does say processing completed however the CEAC say AP

  10. Ankara is a busy embassy and they observe the holidays so they must be especially slow these days.

The wait is hard but they are at least working on it, and if you provided all the documents they asked for they will issue your visa soon.

You can also check the status of the visa with your case number (the one that starts with ANK) from here, select immigrant visa: https://ceac.state.gov/ceacstattracker/status.aspx

    Good luck!

Indeed they did say they were busy , and did they say they will send the passports hopfelylly next week , and you are right , when we went to the consulate there were over 200 people on line , and thank you for you insight , we did provide everything they asked of us , on the IV status it does say processing completed , on the CEAC it say AP

that is where the confusions lays ,

thank you and if you have any further insights let us know

    thank you Merry X mass

  11. Hi

We filed for my fiancé , for k1 visa , it took over 90 days to get the appointment which she did , she was missing one paper ,and was given form 221g after the interview which was successful , we sent that paper on November 24 , with the passports as instructed , later on as we proceeded we got the passports returned indicating further review , with in 24 hours she was asked again to resend the passports which she did on December 9th when we checked the IV STATUS CHECK it says , processing completed , we received another email saying review is completed , a few days ago we got another email saying it is still under review , and that the work load is big on them that it will take some time , for her to get the visa .

any input , and one experienced this before ?, I know the consulate is a good one in Ankara , just the wait is frustrating and confusing

let me know if any one has been through this thank you

    blessings
