Thank you for that! That helps.. I stupidly thought I would get an interview end end of June beginning of July and kinda made life arrangements accordingly but it is what it is. Thanks again for getting back to me!

Like you,I too thought I'd be getting a date end of June or at least early July. Guess there's no predictable pattern of allocating interview dates.

It'll give me more time to work and save a bit more money.

How was your medical? How long were you in there? I’m currently about to walk to Selfridges and hang out there for a couple of hours before heading over to my appointment. I hate blood tests so I’m not too excited to go ha.

It was quick and easy. Few questions from the doctor about medical history, physical examination, weight and height, plus blood sample. Vaccines seen by nurse, signed off and the xray. In and out in 1hr 20 mins

  3. Hi all,

I hope this makes sense and I can get some advice.

Our I-130 was approved on 01/01/24 and we got the notice in the mail. Upon checking USCIS ,it states that on the 01/04/24 case was reopened and resumed work on our case. A RFE was sent, but as of time of writing this,we haven't received anything in the mail.

Should we be concerned that the initial approval was a mistake or just wait to see if we do get an RFE in the mail? Is this normal for them to request evidence after approving a petition?

  4. Yes,as it would contain the LND # in order to book the medical appointment. plus the necessary documents needed at the appointment. I received my "packet 3" 3 weeks after My Fiance got the NOA2. I think you may contact NVC to get the LND # if you don't want to wait for "packet 3".. the more experienced VJers may correct me if I'm wrong.

:joy: Thanks so much for that information. So I guess my fiance's research into the Ryan White Programme was correct.

I've read that there's a limit to the amount of medication one can bring into the US, but I'm thinking if I were to come

with say 2 bottles, surely the process of changing my status and getting health care insurance and everything else

sorted, I'd be out of medication.

Are there ways of getting round that legally?

  6. Hello all,

I am new here and would like some advise.

My fiance is preparing to put in the petition for the K1 visa. I am HIV+ and am aware that this should not be an obstacle to obtaining the visa.My question is based around the Ryan White programme. My fiance researched into this and was informed that it is not part of government assistance, therefore when I go for my Consulate interview I'll say that is what I shall be using to get my medication.

so is it in fact a non governmental programme or not? I don't want us to get to the point of the interview only to find out that it's only a programme for US citizens.

We have discussed me being put onto his health insurance at work once we're married, and he earns $45,000 plus bonuses of at least $10.000 so he earns way more than the poverty line threshold in Florida.

Are there any health insurance programmes we can look in to for purchasing upon my arrival that cater for new immigrants with pre-existing conditions?

My condition is stable and I do not have any other health issues.
