I recently filed for adjustment of status based on marriage to a US citizen. I have received nothing other than a receipt with an A-number and a biometrics date from USCIS since then. I am attempting to open a bank account here and I am stumped as to how I should define my status here. Attached is a picture of the question I have been asked; do I declare myself to be 1. A US citizen, 2. a US resident alien or 3. a US tax person for any other reason. 

Note that I have not received a tax number from the state yet nor do I have a SSN.

Hi all,

So I recently came to the USA on a visa waiver program (ESTA) to visit. I had not planned on staying here, but as it turned out I fell in love and married a US citizen here in Atlanta, GA.

So I am now married a little over a week and I want to file for adjustment of status based on that. I have been told that all I need to do is file an I-485 but now I am not so sure. Can anybody help to clear up what I need to do?
