hi
yes he can, if he makes enough money to cover you and his wife,
as long as he has good income or income and assets, no problem in being your husband's joint sponsor
That's a relief. Thank you so much.

You working does nothing. He needs a job, why did he quit it knowing that you possibly had your interview? You should be prepared with a cosponsor because if they ask and you admit he doesn't have his job anymore. (obviously don't lie) you will be denied without the cosponsor.
Thanks. Maybe getting a co-sponsor is the best option for now. We didn't know we'll have our interview. We just received the mail last week and interview will be next week. I was the one who asked him to quit his job since he was so exhausted all the time.

So I'm getting confused now... Since my husband doesn't work for now, it means that we need a co-sponsor for our upcoming AOS interview next week. We are required to bring and Affidavit of support. Filed our AOS April this year. We are planning to make his dad our co-sponsor but I am wondering if he is qualified. He makes good money but 2 years ago he petitioned his 2nd wife for AOS. He was the petitioner and sponsor of his wife's AOS.. Recently, his wife processed her ROC. I'm just wondering if he can co-sponsor me given that circumstances. He is my husband's dad. I hope someone could help me. I appreciate it. I'm really confused. I don't know if we need to reschedule my interview til husband finds a job or we can make his dad the co-sponsor.

So I will have my AOS interview on Nov.4. When I processed my AOS last April 2017, my husband was still working and we provided an affidavit of support with no co-sponsor. Right now, he has not been working for more than a month and my AOS interview requires us to bring an affidavit of support, latest ITR and W2. What shall I do? I am working right now though. But my husband doesnt so I'm confused what to put in our Affidavit of support or do we need to find a co-sponsor? I actually submitted a fully accomplished I864 with itrs and w2s when i processed my aos and i didn't get any RFE. I don't know why they are asking for it again. Please help.

I got NBI 5 times due to work and visa purposes. My name is Rhea Torres so it's pretty common and those 5 times of getting NBI clearance made me have 5 times of NBI hit also. Just needed to wait 5-10 business days and it's clear. The first time it happened, I got scared but the succeeding times felt normal for me already coz I learned that it's so common for people to get hit whatever their names are. The last time I got NBI for K1 Visa I think I waited for 15business days after I got it but it was successful and I'm here in the U.S now. So don't worry about that if you Fiancé did not make any criminal offense. It's pretty common in Ph.

Wow if this is true then it would change everything. K1 was our dream when we first discussed marriage last year but after a lot of research I saw people saying co sponsorship is approved case by case and that they rarely approve it. I am gonna check out that group.
I promise. You can have a cosponsor with K1. What you need to prove is your genuine relationship. Also, interview takes 5-10 minutes only.

Yes it is true that I can have a co sponsor on the K1 but it is my understanding that the K1 is approved by the Philippines embassy, not American. And the Philippines embassy rarely allows for a cosponsor.
No, you're wrong about that. I know a lot of people who got approved with a k1 cosponsor. And it's very welcome. I suggest you join the facebook group of K1 visa journey and there, you can see thousands of experienced people who will help you regarding your questions. It's a very helpful group.
P.S. I'm 100% sure that cosponsor is for K1 also. A lot of people did that duting my interview and I know some stuffs because I read a lot of sources and articles ?

not possible for us. I am a student and I do not meet the income requirement for that. In order to have my family co sponsor her visa we must do the CR-1.
by the way, k1 visa and cr1 visa can both get a cosponsor. So either way, you can make any of your family members be your joint sponsor. Not only for Cr1. U just need to fill out the new I34 form (Affidavit of support) if doing fiancé visa

Really? Do you know anything about EastWest call center? That is where she works now. She used to be at Convergys which I know is one of the big guys in Manila.
Yes! I used to work in Convergys as well. But as a normal customer service representative. That's my last job before I left to come here. Convergys is the biggest bpo company in Ph and they will allow trainees to be absent if there's a valid reason. Having a vacation with your fiancé who lives outside the country and who cannot travel in Ph all the time is a valid reason coz I did the same as well. Lol. I was out for 2 weeks and I was in the 2nd phase of training that time, being 1month in the company. When I came back, I needed to wait for one more week because I needed to be in class with the lower batch and get in to class whenever the topic is same as the topic when I left to have my vacation. So I had vacation for 2 weeks which was not paid, and one week with no job as well. I haven't heard of Eastwest but almost all call center companies in the Philippines are the same since they are ahdering to how a BPO company should work.
-
She can talk to her trainer for her to be absent and be downgraded to another batch of trainees if your vacation is done. I know some stuffs because I was once a trainer in 2 call centers back in Ph. I worked in 3 call center companies, and yes, they will accept that. I know you're not expecting answers but I'm just sharing you my knowledge about it. Goodluck!

I had the Cebu-Taipei-Houston flight in June. My friend and I had thought about going into Taipei, but the airport is about an hour from the city. Also, It was raining, so we decided to stay at the airport. Also, a taxi into Taipei is about $32 each way.
Transportation info:
I see. That's quite a lot of travel. I will jist print a travel cert just in case. Thanks ?

Your ok with the documents you have for traveling to USA via Taipei but you'll need additional documents if you leave the airport. Your confusing the two processes.
I get it now. Thanks.

So I found something in the application saying that I need to present the primted certificate and other required documents when entering Taiwan or else my entry will be denied? What does "entering Taiwan" trying to imply? Is that entering the airport or leaving the airport to explore what's outside? Sorry I'm quite confused.

Hi again! Anyone here who experienced having long layover time in Taipei, Taiwan. We will be flying through Eva Air and Route is Philippines-Taipei-Houston. I'm just wondering if we could do something like explore some parts outside the airport making use of the 8-hour layover. Any knowledge about this? Thanks in advance. ?

Yes you will be fine, Philippines is not on the list of "countries" .
Like said, have your DO NOT OPEN envelope with you in your carry on. When you get to POE ask the agent as you walk in the room which counter you should use for processing.
Do you have an extra copy or two of your PSA birth certificate? You will need that in the USA.
Safe Travels!
Thank you. What do you mean by extra copy? Extra original copy or extra photocopy? I only have 1 original PSA birth record with me because I submitted the other one to USEM when I had my interview. Shall I get another copy or this will do? ??

Hi. So I will be flying to the U.S next week. Any pieces of advice you can give me starting from the documents that I need to bring with me and the preparations I need to make. I know that Trump has signed something about banning some immigrants but as far as I know Philippines is not included and I processed my papers legally so I am not worried. I will be fine right? Thanks in advance.

I found some posts here corcerning about a PSA birth certificate which is not clear but the problem is I couldn't find the topic anymore so I just thought of posting this as a new topic for the convenience of future readers. Well, having an unreadable birth certificate is very common here in the Philippines. So I will just share my experience with such issue. The first thing that I did with my birth certificate which is a total mess was I processed a change for clerical form in our local civil registrar. I told them the the details then they made a letter for me to be submiited to the nearest PSA here. So we got one in Dumaguete. I just paid 50php at the local office's cashier. So I then submitted the request right after they released the letter to PSA. I was advised by a PSA staff to come back after 2 weeks since they will still forward it to Manila ( they will process it). I came back after two weeks. I was really disappointed because the request was not approved since according to the staff, there is already an annotation on the bottom part of my record saying "best possible image" and because of that, they cannot at least change my record into a clear one. It's really stupid. Yeah I guess! It's like they are telling me that for the rest of my life, I will be bringing with me my National birth certificate which is a total #######. What I did was I requested a letter from PSA stating there the reason why they didn't approve my request and they put there a very informative one. So what they noted in there was it was disapproved because records which already have annotations cannot be changed anymore. After that day, it was my interview already. I attached my clear local birth certificate, baptismal certificate, the note about the disapproval of my request from PSA and my unreadable PSA birth certificate. Of course, I notified the consule about my issue right away before submitting it so that they will not come back to me asking. Yes, it's alright! She told me that my local birth certificate is fine as the only back up document but she said that attaching those additional documents is very helpful. Ok that's what i did. And thank God, I was approved without having any problems. So if you are having the same issue, it's okay, just follow the things that I did or what the consule told me. Goodluck.

So how long did the entire process take from start to finish(until your visa was approved)? It was the DCF process im assuming right ?
I'm not that good with acronyms so I don't know what DCF is. But what I processed was K1 (Fiancé Visa) filed I129F late October. The entire interview process took 2 and a half hours. Well the waiting time took it all. Interview is 10-15 mins.

Congratulations! !! So happy for you.
Thanks for sharing with us your experience. You reinforced many things that we talk about here.
1. Be prepared especially the I-134
2. That most get so nervous over something that takes 5 min.
3. Being confident
CFO is next. BTW don't buy airline tickets till you have received and verified that everything in the visa is correct.
Safe travels.
Yes Greenbaum. Thank you for the pieces of advice and for all the answers you have provided me along the way.

Thanks for the great write-up.
I see you were asked for the I-134, tax return etc.
Now to NOT watch the CEAC website all day long.
Very happy for you.
Thanks Sagot. And another thank you for being one of the top contributors of my visa journey success especially that we don't have any paid legal assistance. Godbless. ?

im nervousmy interview will be next month, gonna do medical exam next week
Thank you. Yeah, I felt the same too. Now I regret why I let that feeling overcome me everyday. Lol. But I know it's normal to feel that way especially when you are waiting. Goodluck and I swear it's so easy as long as you have all the documents and you know your fiancé so much. ?

Like my medical exam, I will be sharing my interview experience as well. My interview appointment was at 8:15 am today, January 19, 2017. I arrived around 8am and lined up right away outside. Since it's almost my appointment time so it's alright if they'll ask for my documents already. Outside, I was asked for my appointment confirmation, DS160, and passport. They attached a sticker with an electronic number with your name on it and it also has 5 chicklets stating each process that you need to pass through (Data Entry, Pre-Screening, Finger Scanning, Interview and Releasing [in case of 221G]). We were instructed to get inside then I waited for 10-15 mins after they really told us to get inside to the real grounds of where all the processes take place. Interviewees are separated according to the letter on the electronic number. I was assigned at "B". My data Entry was around 9:04Am. The Filipino staff just asked me for my DS160 and Passport( not speaking in English) , my full name, birthday, and my Fiancé's address. Then I was asked to go back to where I was seated. Maybe after an hour, I did my pre-screening (not speaking in English again) and the Filipina staff asked for all my original documents so I provided my DS160, passport, NBI clearance( she only got the half part), my birth certificate( I attached a local copy and an endorsement to PSA for form 1A because my bc is not clear) and my CENOMAR. She asked me how me and my fiancé met, why is it that his step-sister is my friend, when did we started talking and when did our relationship got official. I answered everything confidently and when I sensed that she's done with the questions I asked her if she could update my DS160 because it does not contain my middle name. She asked me what's the reason for failure to put one, I said it's not being asked instead of connectiong it to my first name , I just thought of asking you to update it because someone told me so, she asked me if who told me thay she can update my information, then I said " a lot of people from Visa Journey". Then she noted it on my DS160. Good. ? She did not return all the documents that she asked from me. After that, I then headed to the window infront for Finger Scanning. The American CO there asked me where I will be going and I said , "Texas". He said "No". And I said "Why Sir". He replied, " It must be the Great State Of Texas, I was born there, and it's the great state of Texas. I just smiled at him then said how great is Texas. Finger Scanning is quite fast, then he told me to go to my interview and said "Goodluck" I replied "Thank you. ". There was a really long line at the interview corner and I think there are 5-8 windows with interviewers. After an hour of waiting, well, it's my turn to be interviewed. So the interviewers here are speaking in English now. I was really nervous because I was assigned at Window 63, and the first lady before me got a 221G and the first lady before her, was not approved for her protection because her fiancé has somewhat like a previous court case if I'm not mistaken ( she almost cried but can't speak well so she did nothing like defending her fiançé.) Then it's my turn, the American Consul there who is around 40-50 greeted me first by saying "Hi how are you" I answered and greeted back. She then said "Look at all these beautiful women wanting to marry Americans. America is blessed". Then I turned at the back and looked at all the women and she pointed me. Lmao. I just smiled and said "Yes always blessed." She told me something about being honest in everything and I just said "Yes, I do swear" with my right hand raised. Asked for another biometrics. These are the questions that she asked me:
1. Tell me more about your fiancé. I told her everything from basic data to likes and dislikes.
2. What do you use in communicating?
3. How did you meet?
4. What does she do for a living? ( She said that my fiancé's Job is really an impirtant thing.)
5. Affidavit of Support which includes I134, employment letter, paystubs, bank statements, stocks, 1040 and W2.
6. She verified if we are both Single.
7. She asked me why did his step sister chose me to introduce to him.
After that she said that she'll be talking about domestic violence and gave me a pamphlet and a website for me to chage my delivery address. And she said "Your Visa is approved" then all the nails in my heart disappeared. Lol.And that's it, everything was easy except for waiting which we get used to already especially here in the Philippines. I'm just so thankful to God and to everyone here in VJ who have helped me succeed my interview. I am really happy right now. If you are aspiring interviewees also, don't forget to pray all the time, wear your smile and always be confident professionally. ?
