I think it's because they asked for a Rfe about the medical exam,, I told IO that i did everything and he was like I should go to the same doctor and tell him he didn't include my gonorrhoea results but let's hope for best

Oh yea my attorney mentioned that might be the problem for our case too. But IO did not say anything about that at the end of my interview. I think you just need to do exactly what they asked you to do, go to the same doctor and asked him to do a completed medical exam result for you.  You will get your card soon

On August 02 2017 , and 3rd my i-130 got approved but the green card got me stressing

Oh I see. So you are just waiting for your GC to arrive now ? If your I-130 get approved, you don't need to worry so much. It should be the background check or something that relates to your I-485 form that delay your GC production. Both my I-130 and I-485 status changed to case must be reviewed :(  consulted with my attorney, not good.

My husband missed his biometrics appointment because someone at the USCIS misread our apartment number on our I-485 and we never got the notice. We called them and got them to change our address but still haven't received anything about updated biometrics. What is the best way to handle this situation? It's been 2 months since we filed and we don't want his application to get forgotten about.

Try to do a walk-in for infopass and explain the situation to the officer. My friend missed her bio-appt and she just took a chance and went in there and asked to get her biometrics done. They let her do it that day, surprisingly

I am also Adjusting from F1 too...I have done everything listed there. The workload is much and even my renewal EAD too have been pending since i applied for renewal. I have done three infopass.....I was told my case is fine and will be contacted when it gets to my turn.

Your friend case might be based on other factors....and I also find out that it also depends on the case officer (both in handling and the IO)...Some are more efficient than others.

I think you can try writing letters to Congressman/Congresswoman or Senator too. I really hope you will get your interview soon :( one and only benefit about cases like ours is that if they approve us after 2 years anniversary, we won't have to do ROC. You are right tho, it has a lot to do with the case officer, mine was a young and a new one (my attorney said she had never seen that IO before) so it might be because the case needs a supervisor to sign off.

The status change does not really mean anything...With USCIS your status can change three times within a day.... You should be relax and be patient...At least you got the interview out of the way. I have been waiting for the past year and two months for any interview...At least I will know something is happening on my case...lol......status is still saying as at August 15, 2016....your case is ready to be schedule for interview........lol.....

You will be surprised your status will change from case under review to your card is being produced and then immediately to card being mailed......... You have been patient, a lil bit more....

Thank you :( I am trying to be patient. It's a really long process and it sucks. Was there any RFE ? Have you tried service request and infopass ? It might depends on the workload of your field office but I rarely see any case that wait that long for the interview. I am adjusting from F-1 status so most of my friends are foreigners. 6 of my friends went thru AOS and 5 of them got green cards within 2 weeks after the interview, only 1 friend's status changed to "Case Under Review". It has been 2 years since the filing date and he still hasn't received anything. He went thru stoke interview, house visit and all that.

Anyways, goodluck to you. Please have us all updated with your case !

Yes, i had my interview 07/19/2017 in Baltimore, the interview lasted 20 min. The IO said doesn't need more evidence, he said everything looks good, and we should expect the decision in mail. The same day the status changed to interview was completed and the case is under review. Has been  2 months already the status hasn't changed,i put a service request and didn't get response.

I really don't understand why they have to do this to us :( 2 months wait ? Omg why

Have you tried infopass? That might help since the officer might be able to tell you the reason why the case is under review. Might be a new IO that doesn't have authority to make decision and needs a supervisor to sign off, or might be background check issue etc.

    Anyways, keep us updated !

  8. Hey guys,

I applied for AOS from F-1 status. I came to US in 2012. So here is my timeline:  We submitted all paperwork on Dec 7th, 2016, priority date Dec 10th, 2016. I went to biometrics on January 8, 2017 and status changed to "Case is ready for interview" on February 13th, 2017. I got my EAD sometimes in April 2017. On August 20, 2017 we received our interview notice. I went to my interview on Sept 15, 2017, my attorney was there, lasted about 25 min.

    Here is my interview experience:

The IO called our number and we walked in the room where the interview took place. She was young, very nice overall, didn't have the mean look at all. My attorney said it was the first time he met this IO (he has been to a lot of AOS interviews) We swore in and she opened our file and started asking both of us: What is your name, what is your DOB, where have you lived in the past 5 years, who did you live with, which school did you go to, all basic verification questions. Then she asked us about our relationship and marriage questions. When we told her how we met, she smiled and then asked how he proposed to me and how long was our relationship before getting married. Then she asked how the relationship went after the proposal, I said I and my in law planned the wedding, then I talked about the wedding for a bit. She then asked me my spouse's name and his DOB (easy). She went over the I-485 questions then asked if we had any questions. I told her I prepared a folder and asked her if she would like to see all of our photos, bank statements, bills, wedding invitation, activities, joint tax return etc (I spent a lot of time preparing it so I just thought I should show her those ?). She said "okay I will look at some pictures" then asked me to explained what was going on in the pictures. She smiled at I was going through them and after that she told me "that's all, I already have a few things in your file so I don't need those".  Did not take anything from me, not a look at the originals or other evidences. We said "thank you for having us" and that's it. My attorney did not need to say anything during the interview, I asked her how did she think it went and she said it was good, I don't have to worry too much, she was just surprised we didn't get approved on the spot. However, she said showing the new evidences without the IO asking for it might be a little  over-prepared, because to them, it seemed a little rehearsed (well I spent days preparing it so I thought I might as well show it , i did not think much at all lol).

When we got home, the status changed to " Interview was completed and my case must be reviewed.

Your interview for your Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status, Receipt Number MSCXXXXXX, was completed, and your case must be reviewed. We will mail you a notice if we make a decision or take further action. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address."

I was like "huh?" and did research on the status change and came out BADD !! People who got this status change in the past, waited for months and even years to get their GC. My hubby tried to calm me down and he called my attorney and she wasn't sure why the status changed to that. She told me I should just be patient and wait for 3 weeks to see if we receive any approval notice. It's only been 3 days and it's already driving me crazy ! Note that our case does have a red flag, as my sibling also filed for AOS and it's been pending for almost 2 years (they did the paperwork themselves and there were RFE, stoke interview and a home visit from USCIS). Not sure if my sibling's case effects mine, my attorney said no.

We dated for one year and got married with the presence of both families, our other relatives and bunch of friends. We submitted a tons of evidences with form I-130 and I-485 such as photos, our joint account statements, bills with both our name, our lease, wedding congrats cards and receipts, honey moon boarding passes, activity tickets, a blessing letter from my spouse's biological dad, an affidavit from my friend.

I read some posts from visajourney and people also said sometimes new IOs doesn't have the authority to approve so the case needs an approval from a supervisor, which usually takes months.... :(

Sad, I really wanted to go back to school next Spring and we planned to have Canada trip with our in laws on Christmas and now I don't know when my GC will arrive...

I have read a lot of AOS posts and this is the first time I see this status. What will happen now ?

You mean I-131 (travel document)? It was last updated at 12/23/16. The I-130 is Petition for Alien Relative and was updated in January.

    I meant the I-130,Petition for Alien Relative . Basically the whole AOS package includes I-130, G-325A, I-485, I-864, I-765.

I did not know they updated the form again in February.

    USCIS website says:

"02/27/17.  Starting 04/28/17, USCIS will only accept the 02/27/17 edition. Until then, you can use the 12/23/16 edition. You can find the edition date at the bottom of the page on the Form and Instructions."

When is your package to be delivered? Hopefully it can be delivered by the end of tomorrow. I am not very sure if USCIS takes the mailed out date into account.

I sent from Seattle so it will be delivered to Chicago lockbox tomorrow ! 04/28/2017

OMG. I am going to cry. I called USCIS customer services and the agents weren't even sure. They were like "wait for the notices cause I don't know"  .

  12. We had been preparing our Adjustment of Status package since January and just went to USPS and the package was postmarked 04/25/2017. We had no idea about I-130  newest update in February, 2017. We submitted the old version of I-130 (12/23/2016) version with G-325A. Unlike the December 2016 update, there was no official announcement about this February I-130 update, unless you actually click on the "edition" section on I-130 USCIS page. According to USCIS official announcement on December 29, 2017:

"We will accept prior versions of forms, with the exception of Form N-400, until February 21, 2017.  However, all filings postmarked 12/23/16 or later must include the new fees or we will reject them."

Is the same policy apply for this February update ? We included the new fees for sure.

    Thanks guys

  13. I am speechless.  My husband is USC. I am the beneficiary. My husband and i reviewed the forms at least 10 time before we signed it. I sent it out on December 22, 2016 and USCIS received the package on December 24th. It's January 15th and still no notification. I scanned everything before sending out so I checked and realized that my husband did not fill out "current individual income" part (ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh it's one of the most important information !!!)

Now I am very worried that USCIS will reject my package because of the missing information. Any chance they will still accept it and just send an RFE ? It's been 3 weeks though, if they send it back, wouldn't it already be in my mail box by now ?

    Anybody has similar experience ??

  14. Hello again people!

Well, here's our situation: my wife just lost her job this morning. We were about to send the AOS package. But the thing is: today was also going to be the day that she would give them her 2 week notice, because she found a way better job, with better payment that makes her beat the 125% mark by a lot. However, she will only start at this new job on January 9. All of our proof of income that we were going to send along with the I864 refers to the previous job.

My question is: what do we do? I want to file before December 23 to avoid the raises. And we only have until January 22, when my I-94 expires. At the same time I'm worried about sending an application during this gap between the old job and the new one. What do you think we should? Send some document regarding the new job (what kind of document?), avoid mentioning anything or wait?

You can send the AOS package now. No need to wait if her 2015 tax return meets the 125% poverty guideline. Send it with tax return of 2015 and W-2s, her previous 3-6 months pay stubs of her old job. You don't have to let them know she has a new job now. After she starts her job in January, you can always call USCIS and ask to speak to 2nd level immigration officer and they will tell you how to update the info/income. Sometimes they will tell you to just bring new pay stubs to the interview. You also don't have to worry about I-94 expiration date. I know a lady whose I-94 expired since 2008 and she has no problem getting her green card.
