I think the "review department" is really meaningless. When I was on supervisor review before and ended up with a checklist I called one day and they said "No news yet" and then I called the next day and they say "Okay seems like you sent the wrong birth certificate in yada yada". There was never a time where they said "Oh well we are reviewing it right now so call us back in a couple of days".

That being said some people seem to get that information, I just never did the first time. Today when they said it I asked "Does that mean someone is actively looking at it right now?" and she said no, it had just been "forwarded" to their department to be looked at. I don't know what, if anything, it means. If someone were looking at my file today it would be completed today considering the only thing they have to look at is a single page english language birth certificate. I can't imagine that takes more than an hour at most to verify.

I agree. Its all so confusing

On my update call today the lady said that our file has been "sent to the document review department". I tried to ask her if that is something new but she was cagey about it. She is the first person to use that phrase to me. Has anyone heard that? Does it mean anything? (Supervisor review started just 1/10 so I'm not really expecting much). It's so funny how they all use different terminology. Maybe it's just to give us the sense that something is happening.

Yes mine has been there for a week and I have been waiting over 10 weeks now

Okay, so obviously I am feeling desperate/a little crazy, so now I'm trying to think of all different possibilities....

For those of you that received your case complete or a checklist, had you all called and confirmed that you were in the "review department"? Or are there any of you that were just told "no news yet, sorry" and then received either a cc or checklist?

I am still with you. I am so frustrated. I am over 10weeks waiting  and still othing other then its in the review department. Im going crazy now.

I'm hoping you hear very soon.  The day before I got case complete, they were telling me that it is in the review department and I can hear at anytime.  I asked when I can call back and the person said I can call as many times as I would like, but he suggest a few days.

I hope soon. Thank you for the support and info. Congratulations on your cc

  5. I am now at 10 weeks waiting for NVC and still no news I call everyday and still get the same answer and thats its in the review department. I have talk to a few really nice people nd I do believe some are trying but again they are very far behind and clearly are not going in order according to scan date. My scan date was nov 3 and placed on a supervisor list dec 16. Now it been placed back in review. I am just praying for good news soon.

Your documents are currently at NVC. NVC will review them all, process them, approve them, and then send them to Juarez. Juarez will contact you directing you to their website and telling you to schedule an interview. You will then pick from a list of available dates.

If you do not have a medical expedite, NVC will review, process, and approve your documents. They will then send them to Juarez. NVC will then contact you and tell you when your interview date is (as in, they schedule it for you). They only communicate with the consulate for two weeks of the month so you need to wait until a slot is available and they schedule them first come, first served.

Perfect. Now it makes since thank you so much. I was really confused and wasnt sure what he was telling me to do. But this makes it clearer.

I made a medical expedite request that was accepted at Ciudad Juarez. It doesn't hurt to try, but it really depends if they will accept it or not.

The only benefit it will get you is that you can schedule your own interview instead of waiting for NVC to do it, but this only shaves off a couple weeks at best.

EDIT: Just to be clear, it does not speed up your time at NVC. You still have to wait for your documents to be processed like everyone else.

Yes I understand that. Thank you I have been waiting for 10 weeks now.

Thank you. But will all the documents I sent to nvc be sent to Juarez? Im just wondering how this process works.

My case is currently being under reviewed! :D If any feel like they are losing hope, just wait! Listen to this conversation I recorded talking to an NVC rep. This person was so awesome. He was able to tell me everything that was going on with my case, got me a callback request with supervisor, told me whats going on with NVC, and that the full team is there (document reviewers and everyone from 7am-12am) I only captured a portion of the conversation and uploaded to soundcloud

I also spoke to a gentleman last night that was very helpful and understanding. He gave me advise and explained everything that was going on to me. I believe some are really trying. I am thankful for those individuals at NVC.

Same here. I feel so happy for those who have gotten their c.c's. I was hoping to see something today being that I have been waiting since 11/4 scan date and supervisor review 12/19. You have certainly been waiting much longer. Hope we see a c.c soon!

I am there with you both. My scan date was Nov 3. Supervisor list Dec 16 and still no news ?. I try to keep my faith high and trust in gods timing, but its so hard and frustrating. I am truly happy for those who have got the cc but Its very hard when you see that you have been waiting longer then others whom have been approved and are told they go in order. I have now became worried and anxious of why I am still waiting ?. I hope everyone recieves good new and I am going to continue to pray. Have a great day everyone and best wishes.

Scan date Nov 14 th... Sup review Dec 27th... I had called in the morning today and spoke to a supervisor. ( finally was able to get a hold of one and begged him & he said he will give me a call either today or tomorrow). Prior to this I had been calling NVC and wanted to speak to a supervisor but every single time there was none available so i kept on telling them to give me a call back for numerous days. maybe 4 days in a row). This evening supervisor had actually called me. Can you believe that ? they actually called. It was a different supervisor. I explained my situation and started question what was the reason for delay since people that are behind me already got their cases approved and she kept apologizing.

Later, I told the lady that I have not seen my wife in over 8 months and in 5 months I was thinking about joining the United States air force but after all this I was beginning to change my mind. So I asked her a question and i said "I am a US citizen going through this and how am i suppose to feel as a US citizen ?

Since I saw the N/A and i was typing this up i was on hold with NVC and had gotten another call coming in with 603 number and I thought who can it be so i picked up the phone and it was the supervisor that i spoke to this evening. She was calling me to let me know that my case was approved and is in line for the interview. WOW how nice can she be ??? What made her move my case ? I have no clue but i am very grateful

    I am very happy.

Thats amazing I pray for good news with my case soon as well as everyone else.
