  1. Hello All,

I have a green card,I want to adopt a dog from my country.I looked at prices to send dog alone with cargo and it is crazy expensive. It is cheaper to fly and bring dog with you.I was wondering if anyone on Green Card, traveled outside the US with their pet and if they had any issues?

I ask because in 2014 when I traveled on green card,I had to wait for 3 hours at customes just by myself no pet.So I wonder if they give exstra hard time when importing a pet.

My friend brought a dog in with no issues but she has American citizenship.

  2. Hi,

I had many friends and family who after ROC proccess first got offical approval letter then the actual green card.

Today my green card came and I never got offical approval letter. Is this common?

Im worried what if it was some glitch in the system and sent request to make me a card lol it happened before I read about it.

Do you guys think it is neccesary for me to go to Info Pass and double confirm that I am actually approved?

I called them but they said they dont see I am approved but if I got the card that means I am approved.

Should I just celebrate and not worry about it hah

  3. After long 21 months looks like I got approved.I recieved a txt msg and email that my case status has been changed so I checked on uscis case status site and it says New Card is in production.

I hope it is not some glitch coz I did not recieve offical approval letter in the mail.Im hoping I will get the approval letter this week.Did anyone else recieve the status update first then the approval letter?

Finally, looks like my journey is almost over hah

Its been so long and we got RFE in March that I do not believe it until I get the card in hand.

Good luck to everyone else still waiting.

  4. Hello I am joining the party of "the waiting game".It has been 22 months for me.

Went to Info Pass last week they told me since I am moving to another state they have to transfer my case and it will add additional 5 months of my wait.

Unless the officer that has my case makes decision in next 4 weeks.Hoping for it but unlikely I bet he/she ll jump from happiness we are moving so he can just ship it off to FL and hey less work for him/her haha

So yea ill be on this journey for a while.

This forum is lika a therapy.Thank you.I know it sucks for all of us who have been waiting but makes me feel better I am not the only one.

Interesting -- how would you do this? Make an Infopass? What would they stamp to acknowledge your new address?

Yea I know its kind of tricky. So my plan is to schedule info pass last week of May,so I need to start checking the site now. Then before the info pass meeting change the address online.

Then go there show them print out of change of address,Im guessing when one changes online it give you some type of confirmation. So go there with that and ask agent to stamp or sign that it is updated in their system.

  6. I am sorry to hear you are going through all of this. Most people here are also waiting. For me I have been waiting for 20 months, just now we got request for additional evidence.

I also suggest you call check everything is good, make info pass check everything is good.We got a lawyer and he said that from his 30 years expereience USCIS loses stuff all the time, and dont update their systems. He told me for address change to literally triple check they updated it.We r moving to another state in 6 weeks and he told us I MUST get a stamp from them acknowledging they updated our new address.Coz if they sent invitation for interview to old address and we dont show up we would get denied.

So yea,he even thinks the reason we got letter for evidence coz they lost mine I sent in 2015 because they pretty much asking for same stuff that we sent to them before.

Its been a long journey for all of us here on this forum.

When you did AOS you must have known that one of the requirements for this whole process and ROC is co-mingling finances.... why did you both decide to go ahead and set up separate bank accounts? Put pen to paper and write a letter in response to the RFE explaining why this was the case... that's all you can do. Sending a billion pages of separate bank account statements are fruitless... They have specified JOINT bank account statements.

Yes I did know but that doesnt mean we have to have joint account. There is no law that states when you get married you have to have joint account lol. We did have one in 2013-2014 but that didnt work for us so we just continued to use our personal accounts which we had before we even met.

  8. Hi,

RFE is asking for joint bank account statements past 3 years.Me and my husband do not have joint bank account. Do I need to send my own bank account statements and his for past 3 years? For every single month past 3 years?

I have been printing past 7 months omg so much paperwork,1 month bank statement is 4 pages long.

Dealing with insurance, utility companies, and banks is insane everyone takes 10 or more days to deliver the letter.

I am so stressed out I literally had to take off work because I could not concentrate on anything. Already have huge stack of papers, ran out of ink,and blank papers.

  9. Thank you all for your replies. We had joint account but closed it so I will send them that all statments I think we had it for like 7 months back in 2013.

Yea we have credit coz we get points so we use it for everything then we just calculate what we each spent and transfer funds from each of our own checking accounts.

We just signed a new lease for apartment in FL coz we are moving in 2 months I will send that as well.

Is there such a thing how much evidence to send like is there too much lol i literally could print out all txt msgs we exchanged also I have ton of emails from his parents to us on various topics that is how usually they send emails to us to like come for dinner or smthg.

I also have direct emails his parents communicating with my parents and me transleting.

I want to try to avoid interview coz we are moving and i dont want to have to fly back from FL for an interview.

We have ton of evidence in terms of various things but yea just not that joint account past 3 years.

We traveled to TX,NY,FL three times, also I was going to Vegas for a busniess conference and my husband was gonna go and we booked flight however he ended up not going but can I still send them flight info.

Also my parents came to visit so we have pictures together and his parents Ill send those too.

I think this is coming after my Senator contacted them althgouh they told him i am in proccess and have no updates I think it pushed it for them to look at my case.

  10. Hi,

Its been 20 months since we filled for ROC.We just got a letter for additional evidence.

it is asking us to send joint bank account past 3 years. We had one back in 2013 and we closed it in 2014.After that we never opened a joint checking account.

We did open credit card in 2016 but like I am listed as authorized user.Does that even count as joint?

We have Best Buy credit card since 2014 also I am authorized user.

As evidence can I send emails?Like we have lot of from like family and friends inviting us to places, dinners, etc or casual convo. It is from various time dating back to 2013 till present. Can I print those out?

I already sent them ton of evidence now they want more.

Im freaking out about joint account thing it was bolded in the letter so its like we must send them.It was personal decision we made to have seperate coz joint was not working for us.

Can you guys give tips on what else can I send?

  11. Hello,

I have been waiting now 19 months(August 2015 filer).Me and my husband are moving end of May to a diffrent state. My case is at our current local office.

When I change the address is my case going to be transffered to my new local office?Do I need to ask for it or do they automatically do it based on when i change address on file?

I do not want to fly back if we get interview.Does anyone have experience with this type of situation?

We are moving from Maryland to Florida.

    Good morning,

Just a quick update on my case :

Received a mail from USCIS yesterday notifying me that my case is scheduled for an interview on Apr 11th.

I was hoping to get an approval letter just like many people here without interview, but I guess I'm just so "special".

Well it's better than no update I suppose, now I just have to gather all the information that I have sent them...

Also FYI, I called USCIS yesterday morning to inquire my case details, and tier 2 officer did not even mention that I'm scheduled for an interview and the letter was sent out 3 days ago - they really need to do a better job on consolidating information in their system.

    Thanks

I think interview is better then nothing. After the interview you will get it within the month.Good luck.

Let us know how did it go.

  13. If it makes you feel any better I have been waiting longer then you hah August 2015 filer.Coming onto 19 months wait ?.Called multiple times, submitted over 3 e-requests,went to two infopass appoitments, spoke with senator of my state his office made an inqury about my case and still nothing.

They just tell me these cases are not a priority, and that they have seen cases take up to 3 years.Absolutly insane.

Yea i also got the i-551 handwritten with stamp looks like I wrote it lol

  14. I am still waiting. The Senator representative contacted me that they made an inqury on my behalf and they will let me know when they hear back. Its been a month now and nothing.

We are moving to another state in 3 months.Do you guys think that will prolonger my case?

My case is currently at local office here in Baltimore so when we move I think they will have to transfer the case to the new local office.I am worried this will make the proccess even longer.

I so hope I get it before the move.

  15. August 2015 filer here and still waiting.Called multiple times, went to two info pass, sent several e-requests and its always you are in process.

The last e-request reply was a bit strange. In my inqury I asked why am I waiting for 18 months now,and what is the case status. Is there a timeframe when they will make a decision.

Their reply was "Your petition is still pending consideration. We regret for not being able to give you timeframe when we will complete review of application.

Your I-551 is evidence of your temporary permanente resident status.USCIS does not inspect or admit individuals into the US.Please contact CBP for travel requirements"

The last part is a bit odd,I am not from a country on the ban.I am freaked out by that random reply because in my inqury I did not even ask about travel so its was a bit off they replied with that.

After the ban I am not planing on leaving the US at all, never know if he will add more to the list.Seems like even ISCS doesnt know who can be let in.

    Anyway yea still waiting....☹️
