My wife has been issued her visa and is now in the U.S. I read the paperwork about her visa and it says the stamp on her visa acts as her green card until her green card arrives. My question is: Can my wife legally work with the visa stamp until her green card arrives? She has already been issued her Social Security card.

The US citizen does not need to provide any background checks of their own. The NVC and USCIS do all of this automatically.

Thank you!

I am unable to go to the Philippines for my wife's and son's (step-son) interviews. I am a bit confused on what documents I need my wife to mail to me for their IV packets. I am planning on sending her everything I mail with the IV packets so she can take them to their interview. Do I need to get a police background (NCIC) check on myself for the IV packets? I apologize for all of the questions, I am just afraid I will leave something out or not have her send me something I need. I appreciate all of the help all of you have been.

It does get confusing at some point but once you read the below links things might be easier.

I am in the process of preparing the IV Packet for my wife and another for my Step-son. I have become confused as to what I need my wife to send to me from the Philippines to be added to the IV Packet to be sent to Portsmouth, NH. This is all so overwhelming and I am afraid I will leave something out of the packet or not send my wife documents she will need for her and her son's interviews. Any advice would be welcome and very helpful. Thank you in advance.
