Well they denied the Visa at the interview!!!! Reason: not enough documention proving we met before Aprii!!! We actually met in the summer of 2005 and provided 5 notarized affadvits stating so, plus phone bills, pictures from my recent trip to her country, diamond ring reciept etc etc etc. I can't believe this. My fiance saw me through a life threatening ilness at the begining of the year and a 5 month recovery and they question the validity of our relationship! I am beside myself.
If you think that it was not fair and you realy gave to the embassy all what it was requested, contact your USA Senator (by phone) and complain with him/her, they can contact the USA embassy and ask for an explanation. It realy works.
Good luck!
i am really confused about this case
You are not the only one. I still can't figure out whether they are questioning the validity of the relationship, or they're questioning whether adequate proof was provided of meeting in person during the two years prior to filing the petition, or whether they're requesting to see a filed I-191 form (and I don't know why they'd want that, but maybe it has something to do with the US domicile requirement for the affidavit of support?).
It's vital to find out what they want before making a plan to provide it to them. Providing them lots of good evidence to overcome one grounds of inadmissibility will not help at all if their only objection is to a different grounds of inadmissibility.
Simple: box 221g checked on denial form. Hand written explantion "Not enough evidence of relationship prior to April 2006". We stated we met in the summer of 2005 which we had. Most of the evidence is from this spring. As I stated before we have pictures together, phone bills/records, noterized affadavits, reciept for a very expensive ring, a trip to her country, she was here legally for a year and a half twenty minutes from my home - all proven through evidence. It's simple, there is more then sufficient evidence, they didn't like it, and excercised their power. As I said my fiance nursed me through a life threatenging illness at the begining od the year. To go through such trauma and then have a beuracrat invalid your lives together is not a pleasant experience. Lawyer has appealed and I am gathering more evidence. I will not give up!!!! If there is one thing I hate it's injustice and I will fight for whats right!

Any photo copies of your passport showing you were in the Country
They photos of me (with her) in the country at significant landmarks
What about copies of your passport pages?
Since they are looking for evidence of them being together PRIOR to his visit, copies of HER passport pages with entry/exit stamps would be of more use.
Which they have along with full documention of her stay here which was 20 minutes from my residence!

The form is "pursuant to section 221". The reason - "not enough documentaion prior to April 2006"
Most of the cases refusal (221g) are because of documents missing or additional information required by the consulate.
If you provide the necessary documentation (even when their request seems strange or ridiculous) you should be fine.
This is what I was thinking, that they are requesting more documentation.
Fred, you giving us bits and pieces here. Does it state that they want more documentation or does it say they are sending it back to the USCIS service center that initially approved your petition?
Also, I am sure there are many people that can testify to the fact that you were indeed together during the time you stated. You can get letters from them stating this. Make sure they include a phone number so they can contact them for more information if they choose too.
They have noterized affadvits or our relationship from 5 people, pictures of us in her country, a video of her dancing at my sisters house, phone bills, passport stamps, emails and on and on. I was very ill at the begining of the year, which they know) and we have no earlier pictures and the phone bills are unavailable. I am not in the habit of saving movie tickets or restaurant receipts either. THis is ridiculous as I mentioned before even if we did meet only since April then that is still completely legitamte. Nevertheless they have overwhelming proof and it is evidence of how subjective a system this is.

Before anyone here can effectively help you, you are going to need to provide us with some information. Did you get the 212 or the 221g?
If you got the 221g, what box is checked, and what are their notes underneath the checked box?
Optional Form 191 (4-91)
I can find no reference to this form under USCIS or DOS
The form is "pursuant to section 221". The reason - "not enough documentaion prior to April 2006" which makes no sense - there is nothing magical about April. I am amazed at the power some people wield. My very expensive lawyer has sent an appeal.
Fred I have a question for you? Have you been residing in Romania for a long period of time? Since you said your fiance had nursed you back to health. If so the only forms I am finding on the USCIS website deals with Unrelenquished Domiclie? Here is the link http://www.uscis.gov/graphics/formsfee/forms/files/i-191.pdf. This may not be helpful. But good luck.Mary
No - just got back from a two week visit. She was here (legally) for a year and a half, up until mid-June

Did they tell you what to do next? I am very sorry to hear this. But, I am sure there is something that you can do.....
Yeah, get some non-existent pictures prior to April. The thing is even if we where togeher since April, which is not the case, that in itself constitutes 7 months! I was just in her country for 2 weeks!

We had little in the way of photos, some grainy stuff I lifted off of a home movie. We were approved very quickly and provided:
Notorized affadavits of our relationship from famlily/friends
Cell phone bills - with numbers noted
Emails
Phone Card bills
The above info also was cross referenced with her time in the US as noted on her passport.
So it was pretty week but we had no problem. Hope this helps.

Hi, my fiance just got her K1 visa the other day
and she is interested in going to school once coming here.
I was wondering what would be the best way to go about getting her into a school. Also how long it would take.
Thanks for your help.
My fiance was accepted to college prior to returning to her home country. They had admisions people who specifically handled "foreiegn students" and were very helpful. She had to take an english test (not TOFL) and had to have proof of support as well as her high school transcripts (grades). SAT's were not required. Your process should be similiar just call admisions at the school you are interested in and they will guide you through the process.

I don't know how this happend but we are approved in less than 30 days!!! I know a lot of you have waited a long time and feel bad for that but I am simply beside myself about this happening so quickly!!!!!

Not sure how many of you know about this, but if you both have internet access you can use skype to talk for free and also use a webcam. We both have webcams and talk and see each other frewquently. Actually seeing each other is very helpful during this waiting period. I'm not at all ascociated with skype but have found it to be a godsend. Check it out at www.skype.com Hope this is helpful.

2 Part Question
1)At what point in the process did you buy/recieve an engagement ring?
2) If your (female) fiance is an country where egagement rings are not "traditional" and wearing a diamond could mean losing it would you opt to keep in the US?
What is our status?
in Adjustment of Status (Green Card) from K1 and K3 Family Based Visas

After being married and apply for AOS what is my spouses status? The K-1 expires in 90 days during which time we were married however the AOS seems to take months to process, so where does that leave the spouse's status? In limbo?
