  1. Hello VJ,

My husband and I are planning on a Europe tour this coming September and we have already the approved extension for his green card or the approval letter. He also finished his biometrics. My question is: Do we have to get a stamp for his passport for the extension of GC while waiting for his physical green card? or a letter of extension is okay to carry. His Gc is expired dated 6/29/2019.

    Any experience?

Thank you in advance for responses.

  2. Hello VJ Members!

My husband is preparing for Removal of Conditions on his Green Card soon.  (started from K-1 Petition )

    Any tips and guides?

What are the evidences that are considered MAJOR ? so that I can gather all those as early as now.....

I already printed the FORM i-751 and the guidelines under uscis.gov.

Thank you in advance! Knowledge and preparedness is always a key for a smooth application. =)

  3. Hello!

This is a question regarding our friends case in Manila, Philippines. He had his medical done at St. Lukes and had both (+) X-RAY and (+) Sputum. He was instructed to back after a month for the Treatment. How long will take for him to finish the said treatment and cleared for an interview? Thank you. Btw, It's a spouse petition.

Any similar cases? Can you give your time frame as per experience?

    Thank you so much!

    First, congrats! :D

Secondly, I've seen from about 1-4 weeks or so in ppl's timelines I believe... it should update again when mailed. almost there :)

    Thanks!

No after approval it shouldn't take long i think. I don't think its another 4 weeks of waiting.....

I was checking the AP/EAD timelines. They received the card 7-9 days after it was approved... the max was already 9 days..... So prob next week or so.

  5. Hopefully for you, since you got youe NOA 10 weeks ago, you SHOULD receive your EAD/AP card very soon. Did you get your biometrics appt yet? In any event, hope things go smoothly for you. Please let us know what happens when he gets his DL, if you don't mind. The uncertainty is the hardest part after the waiting. Thanks and enjoy the holidays!

Yes. Biometrics done since November 17, 16' then we got an RFE December 8, 16' but sent back a reply days later. Yes hopefully. Current status online was RFE reply received. I read a fellow member indicating that the online status is kinda sketchy when it comes to the processing. People who are updating the online may sometimes be in delay to update a movement in the process.

    You as well. Merry Christmas.

  6. Hey, jerseygirl. My K-1 wife and I are also in NJ. We got married 2 weeks ago and went to 2 different DMV offices. They both said that, since we are now married, the K-1 visa status no longer applies. They also said we can't get a DL until we have the EAD. We just filed our AOS application which should take 8-12 weeks for the EAD. The problem with NJ is they say one thing on the phone but something else when you go in person. Maybe a different office would help; we went to Lodi and Wallington in Bergen County. Good luck...I know how frustrating it can be. My wife is DYING to drive because she drove in the Philippines all her life

    Hi!

Our plan was to fo to Rahway MVC but since I got your response.

Alright, so might as well wait for the EAD/AP combo card. I just thought once we have completed the 6 points verification - my husband can apply. anyways, we are waiting for the combo card EAD/AP since our NOA1 for AOS was Oct 11. Hoping and wishing for it to come sooner so that my husband can get his DL and as well open bank accounts here in NJ.

    Waiting process again.

    Good luck and thanks

  7. Hi all,

I think this is the correct place to post this.

I received an RFE in the mail today regarding a lack of information with my I-864 Affidavit of Support. There are three things requested, however the last request does not make sense when taken with the first.

    1. Sponsor's household size - I forgot to fill it after I printed, this was a straight up error and I'm rather frustrated about it, so they need that page filled again, easily done.

    2. I rushed the gathering of supporting tax documents and ended up forgetting some, again, we have full tax returns so it's just a case of sending that, also easy.

    3. The problem is, they say that my wife does not meet the required income amount for the household size. Refer back to point one, if they household size is unknown, surely they can't know if the income is sufficient? She earns significantly more than the requirement for our actual household size, so I can only figure that the officer adjudicating the application had to say that also until further evidence proves it wrong.

Furthermore, they stated no figure to compare the difference to, and so that seems to further reinforce my impression that it's included as a formality.

I'm currently awaiting a call back from an officer to discuss the issue, but failing that I'm left uncertain of my position. Anyone had a similar experience? Hopefully I'm not the only one to make a silly mistake.

    Regards, Dan.

    hey,

i got a similar situation. My husband filed AOS on OCt 21, 2016 then Nov 17, 2016 biometrics done then Dec 12 came with RFE. Similar... household size was filled up incorrectly and recent year income tax return. On the initial, I just submitted an affidavit of support and 2015 W2. Returned back the specific page of the affidavit of support for the household size and the entire income tax return submitted on my recent income tax. Now, waiting time again.....

I read previous post that the USCIS website is kinda sketchy which doesn't right away affects anything after i replied on our RFE request.

  8. In our experience, the online status is pretty sketchy. Ours didn't change from the RFE sent until we were approved, two days before we received the welcome letter. I've seen others stuck at the biometrics fee status the entire time.

Geez. I checked your timeline. It took two months for your RFE to come after the fingerprint. Thanks a lot. =) good to hear that its kinda sketchy... congratz on your GC. =) Looking forward for my husbands ead/ap card.

  9. We got the RFE last Dec 13, 2016 for my husband AOS that we applied last October 2016, Fingerprinting done on November 17,2016.

When they got my RFE, does the status change in the system whenever i check the status online?????

I am praying & hoping that his EAD/AP comes before February 2017. We have plans for out of the country trip.

Waiting process again... but thinking it in a positive way.....
