According to VJ & USCIS, it says to attach the following (note the OR):

* Tax returns, bank accounts, leases, mortgages, or birth certificates of children, or

* Internal Revenue Service (IRS)-certified copies of the income tax forms that you both filed for the past three years, or

* An IRS tax return transcript for the last three years.

To me, the 2nd and 3rd options are the same thing. I have our past 3 years partial copies (1040 & 40) in which we filed jointly. For option #1, I am not sure how many years of these forms the USCIS wants.

It sounds like the 2nd/3rd are the same thing while the first may only be 1 year + other docs such as bank statements and mortgages? Would this be true? Searching the forums, it seems many others just included all 3 options, i.e., 3 years worth of the tax returns + bank statements + mortgages and so forth. The more the better...? Or not this case?

Hey everyone. This is the US citizen spouse of a former K1 visa holder. My wife is now trying to get citizenship. Based on the VJ guides and document checklist provided by, there seems to be a lot of things that we can send. I was wondering if this is enough:

1) 2011 Income Tax Return (or should I provide 2011, 2010, and 2009 aka 3 years worth?)

2) Our most recent mortgage statement (or should I provide a few months worth?)

Do we need to provide banking accounts? There is some sensitive information on 2 of my checking accounts, i.e., account balances that I wasn't sure if I should include them or not. But then again, the IRS statements probably show more than enough info already. We have no children so thus birth certificates for them are out of the question. I was thinking maybe just 3 years worth of income tax return alone should suffice?

Hi everyone. My wife and I moved just recently to our new house, and we're changing our address online electronically via the AR-11 form.

She is waiting to file citizenship which is in a few more months. However, there is a section where it says "Last entry into the US" and "Approximate date of entry into the US (month/day/year)is required" --

Do we put the date of when she FIRST arrived into the US (approximately 3 years ago), or the LAST entry into the US date? We have gone back to her hometown a few times since her first arrival, and do we use that recent date of when we came back (which was last year) instead?

The wording on both choices seem to be counter intuitive, hence the massive confusion.

Hi everyone..its been a while since i logged on here, lost my previous password so i had to open a new account,need to add my time line..question to all that have send their ROC or getting ready to, did anyone include the form I-797D that the the 2yr green card was enclosed in when send in there package. It states "use this section to speed your application for extension or replacement of card", just double checking. Thanks will appreciate your response

We didn't, and got approved pretty fast... so I don't think that particularly speeds the process.

Hi there nancy. Do not worry about it. My wife did not include hers in our ROC application, and we just got approved. I was just reading this thread and trying to remember if I saw it on the instructions to include this or not. I didn't even know there was such a requirement to include it.

Date of I-751 = The Date you sent your application

Congrats DAN02006! Anyways, I noticed that your new post somehow deleted both Coco&Kitten and my approval dates. I guess you were using an earlier filer list, heh? No prob, though. I'll update it back here. Good luck again to those who are still waiting!
