  1. Hi all,

Hope there is someone out there that can give me some advice.

I have been a long time resident of the U.S. I applied for citizenship on September 30, 2015. I followed the procedures and paid the fees. Unfortunately, I never received the letter for the interview notification and I missed the interview (supposed to be in February 8, 2016). As per the current USCIS rules I notified the Newark Field Office in writing back in February and they replied that they started the interview scheduling process and my case was in line for an interview. 10 months later I still have not heard anything from the Newark, NJ Field Office. I’ve written letters, spoken to them in person (4 infopass appointments) and feel like I am getting the run around. They always tell me the same line - "your case is not lost, you'll just have to wait." I've spoken to tier-2 Officers and get the same answer. I even contacted a representative's office and still nothing.

What's most puzzling is that the whole process from when I first submitted my application to when I got the interview notice only took 4 months but waiting for an interview to be re-scheduled has taken 10 months and counting. So it's not even like they have to do an FBI background check, bio-metrics, etc. all over again. The Newark's office current processing time website says 5 months for N-400 cases (which is normal), so it's not like they are backed up or delayed.

I'm beginning to lose all hope. Should I just re-applying from scratch again? Do I have any other options other than waiting years for them to finally give me an interview?

    <_<
