I think you guys may be worrying about nothing. I received my NOA1 in January (see timeline) and of the boxes at the top, 'notice date', 'received date', 'priority date', 'preference classification' and 'date of birth' were all blank. Only the 'notice type', 'case type', 'USCIS alien number' and 'receipt number' were filled out.

I think they use the same NOA1 form for people filing for AOS from different types of visas. So people filing from a work or tourist visa may have different boxes filled out. I was filing from a K1 visa, and my receipt/case number works on the USCIS website, I received my biometrics appointment letter in February as expected... everything is fine. I was confused about the 'notice date' being blank, but it doesn't seem to have caused any issues.

Note that on my biometrics appointment letter it also had blank boxes: 'social security number' (even though I have one), 'account number', and 'TCR'. The only boxes filled out were 'application number', 'notice date', 'case type', 'USCIS A#', 'code' and 'service center'.

We have the same case and I'm also done with biometrics. However these noa dates are important to me cos my i-94 has expired and I can't get any USA id amymore so I would like to carry my noa's all the time together with my marriage certificate because of all the ICE arrests. I look Hispanic, and I see on tv that they arrest mostly Hispanics. I just want to be on the safe side and have something in purse that can tell them what my status is.

  2. I received my 3 noa's and biometrics letter mid January 2017 and the 3 noa's don't have dates. I called customer service end of January to inquire about this and the csr made a report for the Missouri service center which issued these noa's and he said that he put there were typographical errors in my noa's. He told me to wait for 2-4 weeks for a reply from Missouri. No mail from them as of today.

  3. My USC husband's minor child is not declared as his dependent on his ITRs. He said it's his ex wife who puts the child in her yearly ITR as her dependent.

    My husband gives child support.

Shall I put his child as his dependent on the form I-864? If I do so then the info on the I-864 and my husband's ITRs will not be uniform. Cos there's no dependent on the ITRs and there's a child dependent on I-864.

    Thanks in advance.

  4. You don't need to schedule an appointment. It's first come, first served but you have to preregister online. You will just have to input you and your fiancé's information but there is no part there that asks you to choose which date and time you will come.

  5. Hi there. I read the VJ step by step guide on how to file for AOS. It says there I need to submit only the marriage certificate. However, I browsed the forum section and some people mentioned that they submitted many other evidences of marriage and cohabitation like photos, insurances and bank accounts.

    What is the SOP?

Should I also include these other evidences? I'm afraid it will take me and my husband more time to generate these other evidences. Whereas if we need the marriage certificate only, we can submit my application for AOS very soon. Thanks.

  6. Most people use the ACD

But there is not setfast rule.

You could retain your maiden if you wanted

I want to use ACD but my k1 visa says my given names are AB when in fact B is my middle name. If I follow this, my married name becomes ABD and this is not the Philippine rule.

I guess I will just ignore my K1 visa given names.

    Thanks for your reply.

  7. Hi there. I just got married yesterday and now filling out the I-485. Shall I follow the Philippine rule when it comes to middle name?

    My maiden name is ABC

    My husband is D

In my I-485, shall I put ACD or ABD?

I don't have any usa ID's yet but have already applied for an ss number before I got married and the ss guy said I should expect my number and ID after about 4 weeks.

Thanks so much for your replies.

  8. We were married here, from K1 visa and I'm in the AOS processing, I applied my AOS under my husbands surname as my last name and my maiden name as my middle name, because I know that in ph rule, taking your last name (when you were single) to be your maiden name when you get married. Fingers cross that the IO will not intervene with my names during interview or green card production.. Lol! Very conflicting rules from one country to another. ?

Hi there. What happened to your AOS application? I'm from the Ph and will file my AOS soon and now facing the middle name issue.
