Hello everyone! It's been around 200 days or so since I filed the I-129F to bring my boyfriend to the US on the K1 visa, and I realized that I might've made an error. I have not yet received my NOA2.

Around 12 years ago, my boyfriend changed his name legally. He had a first, middle, and last name, but he didn't like his first name. Now his middle name is his legal first name. His passport and other documents have just these 2 names now. 

Unfortunately, I forgot all about this when I submitted the I-129F, so the section "other names used" on page 4 is blank. Eventually, he will have his birth certificate with him at his interview (assuming my 129 form passes USCIS), so this information will be known. And then again when we do the AOS here (I see now that the wording of the question is much more detailed in the I-485 than in the I-129F). 

What should I do to correct this mistake? Should I call USCIS and make a correction? Should I wait until he has his interview? Is this really a big issue? Thanks in advance!

So this has already happened. I skipped a week of classes in October and we met up in Europe. (He hasn't had any issues getting EU visas, so I was bummed to see that not work in his favor for a US one-- but oh well.) I'm also going to Turkey at the end of this month. I get help from my family, and I also work a few extra jobs on top of my classes, so it's been a bit easier for me this semester. Also, I'm not paying for the cruise. Nor would I be paying for him to fly to me, so it would be the most affordable option since he has higher paying job. Plus he could meet my family here.

"What sort of 'professional' are you using?"

I met someone in Turkey who have worked in consular affairs before, so we want to run our thoughts past them. I know the interviewing FSO has the final say; we just want to know if this is something worth trying or if they think it's a terrible one.

"Have you thought of a cruise elsewhere?"

The cruise has already been booked unfortunately, since it's a family trip that my boyfriend recently got invited on. Everyone has put down their deposits.

I know I left out some stuff before, but I didn't want to write a long book! I asked about the deposit only because I've heard from others that it looks better when you have more of a set plan. Of course he wouldn't book any flights, but I didn't think a small deposit would be bad. But yeah, if it won't help then I don't see the point.

Hello everyone!

I've been dating a Turkish man for almost a year now, and we've had poor luck getting him to come visit me. As a graduate student, I've had more free time than him (but not really), but I'm very low on funds. Before I get to the main question, here's some background:

Two years ago, my boyfriend applied to a language school in NYC because he has family there. He was rejected for a student visa, probably due to the school not being a affiliated with a university, and him applying to NYC of all places, as well as the fact that he didn't has as much money as he does now. His cousins in New York agreed to sponsor him, but I know not that that's not enough.

Fast forward to June. He applied for a tourist visa to come see me in October. Despite having a great paying job, a car, family in Turkey and even property, he was denied.

I know he has a huge obstacle to overcome (I spoke with a visa specialist). I'm praying that he hasn't been somehow blacklisted. My family invited him to come on a five-night cruise next May, and we think it would be a good step for our relationship. We're planning on speaking with a professional and booking the cruise before setting the embassy appointment. I'm hoping he can come for the cruise plus an extra week to see my hometown.

With all that being said, is there a chance that he will be granted a visa? I'm hoping that the cruise will be seen as a more stable plan, but I'm not feeling very confident. Has anyone here had success after multiple rejections??
