  1. We are preparing for my wife's Green Card interview next month and I have two questions:

    1. Is it necessary to bring affidavits from friends who know us as a married couple? I saw somewhere that's it's only required in lieu of primary evidence (which we have plenty of, including our 1 year old son)

    2. Do we need to print out photos or can we show them on the smartphone? I hardly know anyone who prints out photos in real life anymore and we have a couple of them at most

    Thanks in advance!

  2. We finally have the interview scheduled for my wife's Green Card application. I read that sometimes it's possible to get the I-551 stamp in the passport right then and there if the application is approved. Is that standard practice (we'll be at the New York city office)? Do we need to bring evidence of a need to travel or any other documentation? Her Advance Parole has expired, renewal request is still outstanding after 120 days and we are planning to travel 2 weeks after the interview.

  3. Dear VJ community,

My fiancé is currently working in US on a TN Visa from Canada, and we are planning to get married and file for AOS soon. When she went to do a medical examination for I-693 form, the doctor told her she needs to provide the alien registration number, which she does not have (since TN is a non-immigrant visa). Is it necessary to get the A-number before the filing, and if so, how? Or should she just tell the doctor to leave the field blank?

  4. Dear VJ community,

My girlfriend is a Canadian citizen and she came to US 8 months ago on a 1-year TN visa and lived with me the whole time. We just got engaged during a trip outside US and would like to get married and file AOS as soon as possible - so that she can get a new job after her TN visa expires.

How concerned should we be about the 90-day rule since she just crossed the border on a non-immigrant visa? She wasn't asked any questions and her passport wasn't even stamped this time. I've been told that historically this would be a non-issue but does anyone know whether USCIS has tightened up on applying this rule under the new administration?

  5. Hi, I have successfully passed by N-400 interview in November 2015 at the New York City office but still have not received an invitation to the Oath ceremony. I have called USCIS and spoke to a level 2 officer but all they are saying is your case is still under review, call again in 3 months. How unusual is this? Does this mean I still haven't cleared the FBI review? Is there anything further I can do to get more information?
