So excited for everyone! Sounds like processing is going faster than you can blink!

I am currently waiting on two peices of information: police clearance and 2016 tax transcript, in order to complete my packets.

Just ran into a question that maybe some of you can help me with, I am a US citizen in Canada under a student visa, my spouse is Canadian, what are they looking for when they ask proof of US domicile? I've got parents and family members that will help offer a place to stay as we apartment shop, but none of these things are solid documentation. Will this be an issue?

Proof of domicile is required if you live outside the country, I had to submit it. I included:

    - A signed letter from my mom explaining that we will be living with her once we came back to the states

    - Title from my car that my mom maintained while I was abroad, and my valid drives license with a US address

    - Emails setting up times to look at apartments

    - A bank statement showing I maintained a U.S account and address

    - Confirmation of my one way flight back to the states

I think they just want to see that you're taking steps to move back, that's all I sent and they approved us!

  2. Hi everyone!

So I submitted all of our documents yesterday and we got our case complete and interview scheduled today!! I am in shock it was so fast!

The only weird thing is that my fee payments were rejected for apparently no reason. I called the NVC and they said it was no big deal and to pay when my husband goes for his interview, so i'm just wondering if this has happened to anyone else?

I am following the case on October filers' forum.

Yet, it is very weird that your payment is been held more than 2 days when your payment went trough without any error happened.

What is your case exactly? Was the payment withdrawn from your bank account? If yes, is it just about the payment status didn't change to "PAID"?

So it was the Chrome browser. They rejected my payments because of that. In true USCIS/NVC style this requirement was nowhere to be found on their website <_<

I just repaid using Safari and it went through so lets see how long it takes to change to 'paid'!

@Jnicole, I had the same error on Google Chrome browser (When I clicked "make a payment", it appears as an error but payment status shows "In Process") and I heard the representative said Google Chrome browser has been troublesome.

Could you please tell me what happened to them afterwards if you heard anything about it?

The representative said if the payment didn't go through it will show up as "Rejected" but I haven't had any new change on its status after 2 days of payment.

Mine still says processing..and I paid over a week ago. I'm about to call them again and use option five so I will let you know what they say!

  5. I just called the NVC to see what the holdup was on accepting my payments (people on the Oct. filers board were saying that there was a error in the system when using Google Chrome browser) and the woman said that we were not even in the system as being sent from USCIS! I told her that I had received my case number by email last Thursday and had already paid and she basically said she couldn't help me. Has anybody else gotten this response when calling them?

It will take 1-2 days for it to process. But remember that since Monday was a holiday, they might not process payments. Also, you won't get any notification or email that the payment was accepted. If I remember correctly, as soon as the payments are made, you can start submitting your documents.

Thank you! It will show up when I log in though as paid, right?

Just an update for the group.

    Processing Date:Oct 12

    Date Approved: May 2

    Transferred to NVC: May 5

File arrived at NVC: May 9

Case number created at NVC: May 15

Congrats! I was wondering if you called them and got your case number? My file was sent to the NVC at the same time and they keep telling me they haven't received it yet...

I don't know if the person I spoke to is just misinformed or something since they are saying it takes 6 weeks to get in the system and another 2 for a case number. The woman this morning also said "well we only let you know when there is a visa available, so it could be awhile". After I just explained we are filing CR-1.  Things like this make me really doubt their entire system haha

  8. Were you still in school after your visa expired with a valid I-20? If your I-20 was still good for the duration of your program, which it should be or the school wouldn't have let you stay in classes, then you shouldn't have any ban on returning, as long as you left within 60 days after you graduated.

  9.

Thanks for that, so I called again today, and after getting a tier1 agent that did not want to transfer me, I finally got her to transfer me, and 3 hours later they called. The tier2 agent was probably the nastiest agent that I have talked to, but when I finally got her to take a look at the case, she came back on and told me that the status of our case was Approved!!!!

Now, I believe her, but at the same time, I want to see either the psychical paper or at least see my status online change, but I am still happy!

    PD 10/19 NEB

    Move to TX 03/10

    Move to NEB 05/04

    Approved?? 05/05

It's funny, for a while now, I have been wondering why people were so happy when the i130 was approved since it is really the half way point ( as far as I understand right now) to getting their loved one to be with them, but without a doubt, I understand now.

Here is to a speedy process for everyone who is not approved yet!

Congrats! It seems that online status change/emails don't happen for transfers, until it is sent off to the NVC, which takes about 1-2 weeks after approval. As far as being only half way done, if you're going through the Sydney consulate you will now be uploading documents to the NVC through their new online system CEAC. (as of May 1st) Since it just got started we don't know for sure, but their website claims it is the faster option. Even better than email processing which was taking 1-2 weeks instead of 11 for those mailing documents. We are in Rio and get to do the same, and hoping for an interview date in late June or early July!

So I just got off the line with a tier2 agent, and they said that my case had been moved back to Nebraska! Has anyone else had this happen? My case was received on Oct 19th, then moved to Texas on March 10th, and now is it apparently back in Nebraska??? She didn't know when, but her info was that it was in Nebraska now. Going to call again tomorrow to see if I can get more info...

This is exactly what happened to me! I freaked out since I thought we were finally out of the black hole, but the Tier 2 Officer I talked to said they moved us back since TX was now overloaded. Our PD was 10/31/2016 and our case was sent to the NVC yesterday! Don't worry too much your approval should be any day now!

  11. Hello! my PD is 10/27/2016, so pretty close to you. My file was sent to Nebraska and we are still waiting. You should join the thread for October I-130 filers, but I haven't seen anyone get approved yet. Based on other threads and the timelines Nebraska is working on the end of September, so for us late October filers i'm hopeful for the end of April or beginning of May!

  12. Hello! I am currently working on getting documents together for the NVC part of our IR-1/CR-1 process including the affidavit of support forms. My income won't meet the requirements since I live abroad with my husband. My mom and step dad have offered to help us out as co-sponsors. We will be living with them for a while upon our return to the states so I had them both fill out the I-864A form for household members but I was reading that they sometimes won't accept step parents with this and he would have to fill out the I-864 and be a joint sponsor, then list my mom as a household member? I am so confused! If anyone has been in a similar situation and has some advise that would be great!

    Thanks!

Ok, here is what @Trinbago from the September filing boards had to say:

    *** "Hello Everyone,

I am happy to announce that I was FINALLY approved today. For everyone who says that their case was assigned to a specific service center but the USCIS automated case status when you call says Nebraska, do not be alarmed. This was happening to me and no one could explain it until today. Basically their system is flawed and they are trying to improve it. The tier 2 supervisor I spoke to today informed me that it can sometimes take up to 30-45 days for any updates made to a case to actually reflect correctly on the basic system (go figure....). " ****

So i hope that clears up some worry for those of you who got the transfer letter, and the automated system still says Nebraska! Thanks for the info @Trinbago

    ~E

Thank you for sharing! This makes me feel more hopeful!!

My husband called USCIS. First, the automated message said our case is in Nebraska EVEN THOUGH I received a transfer notification mail today. So he spoke to an agent. My husband gave her LIN number and shortly she replied she sees my case is in Texas on the system. So, I report here that I got a mail saying my file was transferred to Texas AND automated message said my file is in Nebraska BUT the agent said my file is in Texas as the system shows.

So im very confused now. My file remains in Texas when someone's file was sent back to Nebraska.

This is sooo frustrating! I hope yours is still in Texas as those transferred should get approvals in April! I just don't understand WHY they would send files back when Texas and California seem to already be approving some December filers :(

  15. 12 minutes ago, Elleandeff said:

Omg why??? They transferred you and 2 days later returned your file to Nebraska? I hope it is wrong,  because it is completely unfair to make people wait so long.

I hope so too! She told me that Nebraska was processing faster than Texas so they sent us back, which is wrong, as she also said that TX is working on Sept. 4th right now...She also asked if I was military when I asked her why we are back at NE, which we aren't, but I thought that was weird. I guess all we can do is wait. Hopefully some of us October filers start getting approvals soon!

  16. Hi everyone! So I finally spoke to a human at USCIS! On the 14th we were transferred to Texas, then on the 16th our file was sent back to Nebraska, where we originally filled, who is still processing August 9th. The woman said that based on our PD of 10/27/2016 and how many files they are processing per day we are looking at around 90 DAYS  until the NOA2/decision is made. This is insane and based on that and current processing times at the NVC our whole process wont be over until late October or November! I am really hoping that someone has different information and this woman was crazy or something :( really, really sad that they seem to be up to 8 months on I-130 approval times.

Yes, you are right. I'm expecting to see a big catch-up on next update in USCIS website. I'm planing to prepare documents for next process with NVC in April (birth certificate, police report, tax report and stuff...) by the way.  I want them to be ready before I get an approval so that I don't waste a single second on this. However, it seems  pretty complicated after getting an approval. For instance, I need to call NVC to get a case number, set my husband as an agent, pay some fees and wait for barcode sheet is generated ... I hope we can also discuss about next process around next month and some tips for preparing all the documents to save some time when October filers all get an approval!

This post on the NVC really helped clear things up for me NVC Process . I have been working on getting everything all ready to go as well! Hopefully it goes smoothly for all of us and the worst is soon to be over!

Hi, we both filed I-130 on the same date but yours was transferred to a new service center a week earlier than mine. Did you receive a hard copy mail saying where you got transferred to? what kind of information was written in the hard copy mail? What I read on "my status" online, I should follow the instructions in the notice. Could you please share the info with me if you received it by mail already?

Im living in Brazil with my husband and all of our mail from USICS is always delayed :( so no news yet. I was hoping someone had this information also.
