You should sign up with USPS Informed Delivery - every morning you will be able to see on their app what mail is being delivered that day - you may be able to go in early and pick it up yourself if it is something you are looking for.

Maybe i'll try that so we don't miss any letter anymore. Thanks for your suggestion!

Yes, I had my interview 10/24/2017. I was not approved and waiting for the decision of the IO. The first interview notice was never sent to me, after the processing date passed my PD, i contacted Customer Serv Rep, first I read the same thing that my case was scheduled for interview on August 15, 2016 and blah blah blah within processing time. After back and forth three days later, I found I could talk to a Tier 2 officer, so I demanded to be transferred to a level 2 officer, who was able to confirm that I was initially scheduled for interview on March 6, 2017. I was like wow, I didn't get notice in the mail, no online update, no email or text. So he confirmed that there is an administrative error on my case as he can't find a copy of the notice in my file.

He put in a service request and after two separate infopas appointment and no date yet. I contacted the senator office and luckily three days later, I got an email from the liaison officer that I have been scheduled for 10:15 am Tuesday, 24th October, 2017. That a notice will be mailed to me, the notice arrived home on Tuesday, 24th October 10am.

May i ask how did you get to talk to a level 2 officer? Cause we tried awhile ago and they won't connect me to a tier 2 officer. They just kept saying not to worry and just wait blah blah.

Also, how did you contacted the senator's office?

I hope you hear soon about the result of your interview. Hoping for the best!

Same thing happened to me, I was 10 mins away from the field office when I got a call that i have a letter from Homeland. I was only lucky that I have contacted a senator office where I was already aware of the interview date and time through the field office. I just hope they are not doing this on purpose to deny people. It looks fishy somehow, even as I am writing now, my online status still says schedule for interview as at August 15, 2016, over a year no update, no email, no text.

After the interview, still nothing yet.

You have to either try walk-in for infopass or go through a congressman to get another notice of interview, usually you have a second chance where the field office is suppose to reschedule for interview.

hi @sweetadams, so you mean you were able to get a second interview date? So someone from the senator's office helped you to reschedule it?

And now, you still haven't receive your green card?

We tried to walk in a while ago in the local field office, but no luck cause they are strict about infopass appointment. I got a schedule for infopass but that would still be 2 weeks from now, still trying to get an earlier date as of now.

What does your online case status say?

You called them quickly so hopefully you won't get denied. If you do get denied there might be a possibility that they can reopen your case and get you a new interview date since it wasn't your fault that you missed the interview.

Definitely go for an infopass. Usually there's bad communication between USCIS and its field offices. So even if you called customer suport, the field office didn't get the info and might deny you. An infopass is your ticket to give the info straight to your field office.

Hi, so as of now my online status still says case is ready to be scheduled for interview.

Funny thing was, i called uscis oct 24 in the afternoon to ff up about my case and they just said the same thing that my case is ready to be scheduled for interview. They did not even mentioned anything about an interview schedule. And then oct 24 evening, that's when we found in the mail the interview notice which is for oct 24; 8:45am. :(

That's what i thought also, that the service request might not reach the field office right away. Still can't get infopass appointment, but tomorrow we'll try our luck to do walk in.

    Thanks for your advice

  5. Hi, anyone here who experienced the same thing. I've read cases that they missed the interview because they never received the letter, but for us, we got the letter the same day we are scheduled for the interview! I was able to contact USCIS and they said they sent a service request to the field office notifying them our reason and requesting for a new interview date. But i know, that would take a while, tried booking for info pass but there are no available appointments as of now, what do you think should we do? I'm afraid we might get denied because of this.

There is room. We did it with our bank and no problems. You'll be fine. Relax.

Oh okay! Yeah maybe im stressing too much with this. So we'll just go to our bank then. Thanks! :)

Correct. Your bank may notarized your documents for no charge.

Yes i heard that too so we'll try to go to our bank so we can notarize it for free. Just in case, they tell us that there is no enough space in that part with our signature, maybe they can do it instead at the bottom blank space of the page or at the back of the paper? Do you think that would be okay too?

  8. Hi anyone here who have already filed ROM and sent it thru mail? Cause the forms should be notarized, right? In what part of the form should it be notarized?

thank you to anyone who will respond :)

  9. Hi everyone. My brother is working in uk and still holds philippine passport and he's planning to get a tourist visa so he can attend my wedding and visit me in the us. I'm planning to send him an invitation letter so that he can use it during his interview. My questions are:

1.) Can i just send him a scanned copy of the invite?

2.) Is it ok if I can't send any formal invitation card for the wedding, (only the invitation letter indicating that i'm inviting him to come to my wedding) since i will only have a simple court wedding with our family with us?

3.) What other evidences/supporting docs should he bring for the interview?

    Thank you in advance!

Hey, I believe this is a good link for questions that you may be asked at your interview

    http://www.nolo.com/legal-encyclopedia/k-1-fiance-visa-interview-questions.html

The questions I had for my interview were very basic, like how and when did we meet? what do we have in common? things like that. I think in total they asked me about 5 questions. I know yours will probably differ from mine as different country but I am sure the questions on the list I have provided will be more than likely what you are asked.

Best of luck and I hope all goes well

Thank you!! I also reviewed the list you provided. :)

They can ask anything about information given in your original I-129F packet or any of the extra evidence you give them (if they ask for anything even, they did not want anything from my partner).

As ZoeUK said, it is pretty standard simple basic questions. Maybe 5-10 of them.

Thank you! Hope everything goes well on my interview :)

  12. I would ask him to send all of those documents again with updated dates. The more recent the date, the better! Outdated paystubs for example could look bad to a reviewing officer; recent stubs show he still has the job and is earning, whereas 5 month old stubs don't prove much besides that he worked then and since it's been a mystery.

    Good luck! :)

Okay thank you for answering. I think i'll just ask him to send updated documents just to be sure :)
