  1. Hi All:

It seems that I will be receiving my card soon as I received an update from USCIS. The application to remove conditions was approved on October 10th, Biometrics taken on November 10th and in January 30th I received the following information:

If you move before you receive the card, call customer service. You can also receive automatic e-mail updates as we process your case. Just follow the link below to register.

If you have questions or concerns about your application or the case status results listed above, or if you have not received a decision from USCIS within the current processing time listed*, please contact USCIS Customer Service at (800) 375-5283.

I will update you when the card arrives.

  2. Okay, we just had my wifes Biometrics appointment this morning. I was wondering approximately how long after peoples biometrics did it take for you to receive your I-751 approval notice and new 10 year green card? I asked the USCIS official at the counter and he said about 6 months but that seems kind of long when a lot of people get theirs sooner...is that just a generic answer so as to cover themselves?

    Hi ..:

Yes it is possible to take that long or a bit more. Here are people that have been waiting 5 months already and as of myself I went for Biometrics on November 10th to Federal Plaza NY and nothing yet.

    Regards

    Edwin

  3. Hi there:

I went to biometrics on November 10th. No , I have not received anything , no information about the card or anything related to it. But what i did was I went to get my passport stamped at the Federal Plaza office and they stamped it with the I-551 CR6 for one year. The lady told me "Congratulations you are now a permanent resident you can work and travel" and the card should take approxximaately between 2 months to 6 months. They approved the I-751 on October 10th. Let me know if you receive any information or the card.

The good thing is that on April I can apply for Citizenship so...

    Regards

  4. I hear ya.., we also want to move but we decided to wait until that card comes because I do not want it to get lost or whatever.. Keep going to your old address and check if it arrived there and also when you call, do they say anything about the card being sent?. I went to federal plaza to get the passport stamped too like five weeks ago and she told me it would take between 2 and 6 months... but many people (about 80%) as i have noticed received between 1 to 4 months and about the other 20% after that.

  5. HI:

You should be ok, you sent the packet within the time limit and plus there is a holiday in between "Not your fault". it's like when you deposit a check you haave receipt that you deposited on 12/21/2006 but it would clear in the next three following days but it's considered deposited. Keeping your receipts is the most important thing and also about the USCIS thing ... I made the check the same way 6 months ago hehe...

    That was case one..

Case 2: Your wife can continue working... I kept working for three weeks and my card had already expired until I received my NOA...If they say anything.. she can tell them to confirm it with USCIS, thats the way the process is and you applied within the time limit.

Case 3: The letter you sent them explaining what you were enclosing is self explanatory, I read somewhere in the forms before that even if you are late senging out the I-751 you must submit a letter stating why and you did it.. (This is not the case for you because you sent the form on 12/21/2006 and you have a receipt). So no worries. Just hang in there and wait for the NOA (approx 2 to 4 weeks).

If there is a problem they will let you know which I do not really think there is..

RE: Any news on Vermont Service Center for Green Cards? It's been two months and havent received the 10 year card :(

    Hi Ed and Aparna:

I recieved my approval letter on 8/2006 and got my passport stamped and all formalities biomatrics and all and since then i have not heard anything from them. They told me I will be recieving my new GC in 6 months. But no words yet... I will be moving next month so going in this week to NEW YORK USCIS to update address and about knowing status.

Wow so its taking long time :(

  9. Congrats on the approval :)

No, no children until we both finish school and yes we provided a lot of evidence the first time and some for the i-751. All basic Such as:

    Bank Statements

    Affidavits from Friends

    Joint Taxes

    Pictures

Letters from my jobs stating my emergency contact was my wife

    Bills

    Life Insurance

Pay Stubs with the marriage status

    Marriage Certificate

    Lease

This is what I remember and for the i-751 the same exept for life insurance since it was already there. We are really happy :)

    Thanks all

  10. Congrats on the approval.

One more year to go for Naturalization!!!! Best wishes.

Well, In May 2004 I applied the first time and I applied for the Work Permit and everything I remember but for my surprise on June 2004 intead of receiving my Work Permit I received the Interview Appointment for July 2004, yes it was super fast. Then we got approved, we brought all the documentation and he just asked us two questions "have you ever been arrested?" "Where does she go to School" and then i was approved. On around August 2004 I received my Conditional Card. Then i waited until May 2006 to apply to remove conditions. I received my NOA the next two following weeks in around May 25th 2006. Then I waited until now where i received a letter from Vermont stating I was approved and that I will receive another letter from one of the local offices for the photograph and other information for them to process my I-551 card. They ask me to bring my passport, the card, this letter and the one I will receive from the local office. The date for the approval is October 10th.

PS: I went to Federal Plaza NY for interview for the Conditional Residence

    Thanks Aquarian and ray :)
