my husband recently received RFE at his citizenship interview. He was applying under 3year rule so his interviewer really wanted to see all the supporting documents (lease, joint accounts, tax reports, photos..etc.,) which we weren't prepared for (our fault)On our RFE we were also asked to send "you and your spouse 3 year tax transcripts" - if we filed jointly all 3 years do we need to send his past 3 year tax reports and my 3 year tax reports separately? Or do I just send his 3 years worth tax transcripts because on his transcripts that he is filing jointly under status and have my SSN / last name?

My husband had his citizenship interview under 3 year rule and he passed civics test but he got rfe
The officer said he was missing past 3 years worth tax returns. We filed jointly the last 2 years but didn't file in 2019 because we did not meet minimum threshold to file a tax return.
When the RFE notice becomes available to us ( the officer verbally explained to him why he is getting rfe but we didnt receive any official mail yet) we were going to send our most recent 2 years tax return and explain why we didn't file in 2019. But I just checked our documents and we answered NO to a question that asked Have you ever NOT filed a tax return.............. And now I'm scared that his case will be denied for not answering truthfully.....although it was a honest mistake. We are planning on sending our tax documents for 2019 that shows that we were not required to file a tax return and we are also planning on filing late tax return for 2019 anyway and send that as well...
Is filing a late tax return anyway a bad idea? If we attach a letter explaining that we realized we answered a question wrong hurt our case? Any answer would really help... -
Hello
I hope each one of you's k1 journey is going well! I was wondering if anyone could answer a question I have.
My fiance and I (US citizen) are in process of filing for K1 visa and because I'm a full time student and don't make enough income, a good friend of mine
has thankfully agreed on becoming a co-sponsor for my k1 visa. However, she's going through some situation right now and doesn't want to become a cosponsor
after my K1 petition is approved. I wasn't sure what I could do for adjustment of status. My fiance has enough asset (cash/home property) in his home country to prove that
he meets required asset/federal poverty line. Could I solely use my fiance's proof of asset to apply for adjustment of status? I made a bit more than 10,000 last year,
but that was because I took a semester off from school and worked as a part time. I'm only working 2 times/wk now at my part time job and won't be making as
much anymore. Would my fiance's asset be sufficient to meet income requirement for adjustment of status? I did some online research, but couldn't clearly understand.
Thank you I wish everyone a good luck with their K1 visa

My boyfriend and I've recently started gathering information to apply for k1 visa by end of December. Visajourney has been such a great help/resource for us, but
we stumbled on this major issue with finance. I'm a 22 year old US citizen and I'm currently enrolled in a college as a full-time student. I have a part time job which is no near
to meet financial requirement for K-1visa and my major source of living is from my mom. My boyfriend is Korean and he is currently unemployed.
I understand that the best thing to do in this situation is to have my mom as a joint sponsor, but unfortunately, she disapproves of our relationship and my plan to
get married at this age. What would I be able to do in this situation? I read on other websites and from here that bank account balance could be used to meet the
financial requirement (125% of federal poverty line). If my boyfriend transfers me at least 125% of FPL to my bank of america checking account, could that be used to meet
financial requirement? From my part time job last year, I'm earned about $8000 and I have W2 form for that, but I'm not sure if the combination of the w2 form and
my bank balance would be sufficient.
Does anyone have information about this or advise me on this? I've been doing a lot of research, but couldn't find the answer that applies specifically to my situation.
Thank you in advance and good luck to everyone!

Thank you Bob for clarifying! I thought we would need to print out transcripts from our own irs accounts which will basically be the same transcripts so I was bit confused! Its our first time getting RFE throughout this whole process so I'm really overthinking and doubting everything
