Yes they gived it back to me, but they told me to send it back to them when I'm ready to send the police certificate.

I was placed under administrative processing in late 2016, well before the ds5535 existed. We waited, and waited and waited, until one day, a year later, I was called. They asked to resubmit some documents along with a fresh medical exam, which we promptly did. We were then placed under a little bit more Administrative Processing, three or four months, I had stopped counting the days and months at that point... They then emailed us the ds5535 form. the latter took about 2 months to finish, and the visa was finally issued.

 

I had honestly never in my life felt more relief and happiness than the day I picked up my passport with the visa printed on it. 

 

 

tl;dr: ap for 400+ days, ds5535 took 2 months to complete, visa was issued.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Wow that's awesome, we are vj group of yours happy that you got your visa after a long wait. Pray  for us to get our visa soon and will reunite to our love ones. I have waited for almost 6months now. I wworked in Syria for 3yrs that's why the put me on ds5535.During my interview  Co was asking police clearance certificate from Syria but I don't have it so I went to Syrian  consulatein Makati City,anyway I'm from Philippines.the day of my interview I went to Syrian consulate office here in philippines to request PC and it takes us to wait 4months but no PC recive but instead the Syrian consul gave me a certificate proven I did my best to obtain one. So I sent this certificate or a. Letter to US embassy together with my passport and a 221g letter. After one week embassy emailed me ti filled out the form ds5535 and I sent it back immediately.after then we got alot of update but our last update now was feb13th until then no updates. Here the date where I took my interview  June 1,2017,request PC that day too and waited for 4months until October,then October 22nd I send the ds5535 until  now we are waiting.its very frustrated bht we never stop praying and hoping to get our visa. I am praying for all of us to get our visa.

Hi i submitted my ds5535 oct 22 they sent me this form after i sent the police certeficate that mr.syrian consul give me.ive got 3update before they sent this form in my email,actually when i recieved this form i cried because its another setback that another months to wait.but we cant do anything about it but to wait and pray and never lose hope to God.my fiance and i is very stressed about it  but we will never lose hope to be each other again.keep fighting and never give up vj friends.we can through this and we will get approve.

Finding this forum with similar problem as ours is somehow helpful and gives us hope. Is there anyone here who got there visa in less than 60 days?

We same situation but i work in syria at under 221g ako dahil need ko magpasa ng police clearance from syria nagbayad kame pero wala kame nakuha at nag antay kame ng 4 months then bmigyan kame ng police certificate ng syrian consul at pinasa ko sa us embassy then nag email cla sken to fill out the form ds5535.at now wait namen ng fiance ko when to have a visa.we hope this wont take long.please send me message if you gor update or got visa issue.

We have the same situation ive got a 2nd 221g and they want me to do an another interview and do my medical again.and send some other documents.we still hoping this is a good thing because we are not being denied.we are still on the process.dont lose,keep praying and as my fiance always told me you need to be strong.have faith in God.

Hi after the 3rs times of updating my files they sent me notification letter saying i need to make an apointment for another interview and do the medical again and during the interrview i need to submit some documents like ds260,ds160.affidavit of support of my fiance form I-864 which im confused,are they the same of affidavit of support I-134?and they ask some more,visa photo and valid passport which i sent already togwther with the additional documents.im confused why im doing it again,am i in bad shape or good thing to do it again?because if we are denied they told us already right?am i in a good situation why they asked more?im stress and fruatrated.

Hi vj friends pls give me some advice im stress and frustrated,i am under 221g or AP i sent the additional documents police clearance from syria but after 4 months of waiting police clearance not arrived so the syrian consul give me police certifecate like a proof that i did my best to get one.my first update oct 13,second update oct 16,then 3rd oct 18 and they send me notification letter saying that i need to do an onlie appointment again for interview.and they asked me to submit some documents in times of my interview again.i'll put this email here i did screenshot it.is it bad sign or good to encoumter this imterview again and send some documents again?read down below the letter pls and explain it to me,im lost and stress.sorry guys cant upload the letter.

I sent my Police certificate to USEM oct 10 and the first update oct 13 and they update it again today oct 16 and its still AP😥
