  1. My Fiance did her interview on October 5th. The interview went well and they told her 2-3 weeks for the decision. They also kept all of her proof of our relationship, money, and passport. They needed an extra 2x2 photo because the one she took was somehow blurry. They received everything that following Monday and still haven't reviewed the case yet. Whenever I track the visa that status always reads "Ready" and they just update the date to whenever they do something. Last date as of now is 10/27/16 which is when I contacted them to see what is taking so long. They said the photo and case is still pending for review. Why is this taking so long? Anyone else has had a similar experience or could tell me how it went for them after the interview process in Islamabad, Pakistan?

    Thank you.

Hi, I am hoping you received your visa by now? How long did it take to finally turn to issued, and how long for you to receive your passport/visa back?

  2. Hi

Nice to see that his visa got issued

Unless he payed them 18£ for home delivery then the passport will be kept at their location.

Every county has a DX location he can use the track number to see if they have it in that location

What is his county ? I can try to find the location address for him

For example if he is from West Yorkshire their location would be Leeds .

He needs to go there with an id

  3. Hi ceisenbruch,

So far, we only got one update, the day after the embassy received the passport and docs.

November 16: Administrative Processing (Immigrant Visa)

    Case creation date unchanged.

From what I've seen from other, it needs to change to nonimmigrant admin processing before changing to issued. Good luck and keep me posted on your progress as well!

  4. Also, in addition to your birth certificate proving she is your mother, she also needs proof that she is either an American citizen or a permanent resident. So green card if a LPR, or passport or her own birth certificate if she is a citizen.

Also, we also had our interview at London. Although the tax 1040s aren't mandatory, we brought them just in case, and they ended up keeping them. So it's better to have something in case they want it, than assume they won't want it and then be wrong.

  5. Since the embassy is more interested in the sponsor's current income, your mom will also need to provide evidence of this. Evidence of current income includes pay stubs and a letter from her employer confirming she has a current job there and outlining her annual salary. Only the most recent year's tax transcript is REQUIRED for BOTH you and your mother, but I would highly recommend bringing the past 3 years just in case. As someone already mentioned, they are free to print out online :) Good luck!

  6. Hi there!

Today my fiance had his interview at the consulate in Ciudad Juarez. He was asked questions about how we met, past entry in to the U.S., etc. He was that he couldn't get approved today because he needed to get police certificate from Costa Rica since he lived there years ago. The instructions on the blue sheet stated to send the police certificate once received along with his passport. Anyone else with this experience? If so, how long does it take to get processed once received? We are hopeful since he has an opportunity to further this process. Thanks for input!

    Hi AmGe,

I'm in a very similar situation as you. Would you mind telling me how long it took for you to receive your "ISSUED" status on the CEAC website after submitting your police certificate? Also, how long was it since you submitted it until you got your passport and visa back?

  7. November 7 - Interview. Given 221g and asked to see CV, which we gave them at the interview. Passport returned to us.

November 14: Received email to submit a new CV (I think because a name of a university was slightly cut off without me realizing it) as well as passport. Submitted requested CV and passport same day by special delivery - they should receive it tomorrow! :)

No change of status on CEAC. Status update date only ganged once, on Nov. 14, status still shows "ready"

Can anyone guess if I'm on the right path to be receiving my passport and visa back in about 10-15 days as is true for visas that have been approved? Or will they likely hold my passport while they continue to do AP?? The suspense is killing me! :P

  8. Hello Everyone!

Just got an update on our case today and an email was sent asking for "your CV/Resume with a comprehensive list of your education history, including, if applicable, a detailed list of all your publications to date".

At the interview, the consular officer did ask for a CV, which I was prepared with. However, now that I received this email, it is assumed they would like to see more information? As in, list the courses I took at each university? My original CV that I submitted did have "key modules" listed under each degree, however i'm not sure what they mean now when they ask for a "comprehensive" CV. Or, have they possibly misplaced the CV I handed to the officer and just need a new copy?

Also, does anyone know if, for immigration purposes, a master's dissertations counts as a "publication" they would like to see? It wasn't peer-reviewed and it wasn't publicly published. But I don't want to not send it in case they do consider it relevant. **Especially since they also requested the passport to be sent with the documents, I don't want to hold up the process any longer than it needs to be! :)

    Thanks for any input!

  9. Just wondering who updates the case status on the CEAC website? After my interview my case status has not changed from 'Ready'. Granted, it's only been two days, but I was wondering if since I was given a 221g if the next update changing to admin processing would come from the embassy when they send it back to Washington, or from Washington when they start the actual administration processing? It would put me at ease knowing what time zone I should be expecting a status update :)

  10. Thank you everyone for the quick replies. But if my country of origin was an issue why wouldn't they require more documentation from there? I had a paper from state.gov explaining that Libyan police certificates are not available to current non-residents. At both interviews, they said that's fine not a problem. Also, the only additional info asked for was in regards to my studies. I would understand if I needed background checks because of my origin, but 1) if that's the case then why would they say the ONLY reason I'm under AP is my studies? And 2) when they go to check me again won't they see that I was recently cleared after AP 5 months ago? They should have the results and info of my last AP, no matter what they are checking, am I wrong? Thanks again everyone

  11. Hi everyone,

In early December 2015, I had a B2 interview at the US embassy in London. I wanted to go to the states to meet my then fiancé's family before we got married the following Februrary. Everything went very well until I mentione I was in the middle of studying for a masters in Drug Toxicity and Safety Pharmacology. The consular officer asked me various questions about my studies and topics covered. Eventually, she gave me a white 221g slip asking for a letter from my university aND a list of courses I was taking. I was able to submit the required documents within a few days but heard nothing about he case after notice of receipt of my documents.

4 months later I received an email from USCIS asking for my CV. I responded with a scan of my CV the same day. 2 months after that I received an email informing me that my visa had been approved and that I could send my passport to the embassy. The whole process tool 6 months. Needless to say, I did not get the visa on time to meet my now wife''s family before our wedding. I did, however, send my passport to the embassy to get the approved visa put into my passport, which is still valid for another 2 months from today.

After getting married here in the UK, we filed for a CT1 visa. We got our case expedited at the NVC stage and at the interview stage since my curent UK visa will expire at the end of January 2017.

Yesterday I had my CR1 interview at the US Embassy in London again. The officer again said everything looked great, except because of the nature of my studies, which i have now finished, additional administrative processing was needed before I could get an approval. She asked for my CV, which I had and gave to her. She did not ask for any additional information, not even a list of courses. She only gave me a blue 221g with the box checked, "Additional administrative processing. The Embassy will contact you when processing is completed."

I don't have 6 months to spare this time, I barely have 3. Since the admin processing for my CR1 visa is for the same exact reason they did admin processing for my B2 visa, will this shorten our wait time? Should I be worried that she didn't ask for a list of courses like they did last time? Will this slow down the process in case they DO need it? Or did she not ask for it because she knows they have it on file? The officer said she put notes on our case that we need approval in a rush and that we had been granted expedited processing twice, and also that I've done AP before and recently got cleared. Has anyone else had this or something similar happen to them? Any insight would be so appreciated! :)
