We know each other for 11 months now, he visited me 3 times. Every time for a week!
By the way I know someone got the visa and his fiancee visited him just one time. They got engaged and when she left and applied for the k1 visa , he had his interview and he got the visa !
Did you know each other for 11 months and seen each other 3 times before or after you filed your initial I129F petition?
-
But is the CO really gonna read over 300 pages? That's the Egyptian way of thinking... work hard not smart
-
At the interview did any of the COs ask to see your social media page? Like to show that on your FB it says you're engaged or that you have lots of pictures together on Instagram? (just curious)
-
Does anyone from Egypt even get their K1 visas anymore? Or is this thread just for those that haven't gotten yet?
-
For an Iranian citizen, and with the travel ban in place, and with today's political climate... I say you guys just made a ***HUUUUUGE*** accomplishment. When you get your passport with a visa in hand, make sure you celebrate, cuz you guys definitely deserve it.

Egypt is a really tough embassy. Probably top 5 toughest ones outside of the countries listed in the travel ban. Make sure you get as many visits as possible and front load your application. Also, make sure you travel with your fiance at the time of the interview to attend the interview together. It could make a lot of difference. I'm not saying that to discourage you, but just to make sure you are prepared and not take any shortcuts.

That's so weird. Those people were from Egypt too or a different country?

Alhamdulillah for everything. I believe it happened for a reason.
He asked me all the red flags questions. And a lot of guys here had their interview with the guy at window 14.. you know what ? He was nice and smiling all the time! He interviewed most of the guys who have been on Ap for a long time. I think the reason will be that he wasn't convinced with our relationship and I am looking forward the visa and the passport..
Call the support team. Cause when we kept sending emails we had the same automatic email. Just call the support team and they will escalate your case inshAllah.. yes, probably I saw her on that day..
Wish you guys best of luck inshAllah..
How many visits do you guys have? And how long have you known each other for?

Hello Yasser,
No, unfortunately they sent our case back to the NVC " which means my visa is refused " .. Alhamdulillah for everything.. we won't give up and we are ready to try again after knowing the reasons inshAllah..
Good luck inshAllah Yasser..
I am sorry to hear that. Can you please tell us why do YOU think it got denied? Does your case/applications have any red flags? Not enough face to face meeting? do not know each other for a sufficient amount of time? Or the guy interviewing you just doesn't like Egyptians?
-
Keeping your passport and documents is definitely a positive sign. Stop panicking, stop moaning, stay focused, and submit what you need to submit.
-
You mean your application was accepted. Your K1 visa hasn't been approved yet. The CO will decide whether or not to approve your K1 after the interview.
Also, while it might not directly affect your K1 visa approval, your B2 denial will definitely raise an eyebrow so be prepared to answer why did you apply for it? Was it to go see your USC fiance? Make sure you tell the truth. If they think your're lying then you're in some serious trouble.
Rather odd that your ESTA would not be approved and they held your passport for so long, since you're from Germany. They usually hold your passport for so long to perform background checks. Unless you are originally an Arab or Middle Eastern native with a German passport, then it would make sense.

I looked on the Department of State's website but I couldn't seem to find this information. Can you tell me where exactly on the website this info is located please?
-
Where are the top 10 or top 5 most difficult embassies out there to get a visa from (not counting war torn countries or the 6 countries that are banned)?
-
Did the CO say congratulations you're approved? Did the CO keep your passport? Did he tell you when to pick yup your visa?

You can't 'just' choose a consulate. I'd assume he was living/studying in the Netherlands.
Yes you can. If you are a legal resident of that country you can have the interview done there.
-
I'm sorry, but I've never heard of any COs at the embassy requesting the applicant's phone or social media account. Maybe at POE but not at the embassy. I also have an Egyptian friend of mine who lives in Kuwait who applied for a B2 visa back in April. He got his visa in less than a week.
-
Is a long lengthy wait for AP something that happens in the embassy in Egypt, or Egyptians in general? My fiance is Egyptian but he will have his interview in Bolivia. He's also been issued a US student visa in the past. No criminal records.
-
Greetings everyone! Is Bolivia known to be a tough embassy to go through? This is for K1
-
Did the CO say that you are approved? Did he/she keep your passport?
-
Congrats! May I ask what country you are from or did the interview from? That probably has a lot to do with how long you waited
-
Is it required that we need to attach a copy of my fiance's work visa or ID for the foreign/third country where we will have the K1 interview in our I129F application? We wanna start filing already, but his work visa won't come until at least a month from now.

The officer will almost certainly be familiar with your case before you are called to the 'window' for interview. By this point background checks have been done, the relationship has been proven to be legitimate and they are happy that you have the intent to marry.
Not true. If that's the case with background checks then why is there Administrative Processing?

The US will be looking at a few different things than Canada. Like if he's already married, or using you for GC and stuff we may never know about.
How will they find out if he's only using me for a GC or what his intentions are with me? Maybe they need to teach me how to do AP too

I think that might be the reason why. Typically, for "high fraud" countries (and North Africa is on the top of that list), they wanna see more face to face time BEFORE the filing of the application. COs usually make their decision before the interview when they review the application. And COs are under the presumption of "how did you only meet once and suddenly decide you want to get married".
I understand that there was a case where someone met his fiance only once and got approved, however, that cannot be your main basis of comparison. Those types of cases in high fraud countries are really rare plus luck always plays a factor.
Again, I would like to ask the same questions, how many times did you visit your fiance prior to filing the application?
Lastly, this is for future reference when you guys decide to file again or go the CR1 route, its always advisable to be with your fiance at the interview as it helps tremendously.
