Hi-does delivery of the green card require a signature by the recipient? I will be out of town when the cats is due to arrive. I know I can have the post office hold the mail but I don't want to go through that option.

We have someone picking up our mail as we are traveling.....We don't know the exact date, but are saying approximately 35 days......It says the day issued is the day entered POE ( same date)
Thats awesome. So far 35 days is the fastest I've seen.
My husband received his 36 days after entry. He arrived on Nov 9, received green card Dec 14.
Thank you for sharing. I'll report back when mine arrives.

Well like always....The electronic system says my wife's green card is being produced......They update the system late....Her green card is in the mail box......35 days
Just to confirm.. Your wife received her card after 35 days after entry?
-
We entered Nov 6......I never pay attention to the electronic status. It has never been right in 1 1/2 years for us
I'll keep my fingers crossed for you and hope that it comes sooner than later.
-
Called.....All tier 2 officers busy. Was told to call back......Tracking system is junk and sucks....Said our case was locked
Case was locked? What does that mean? When did you enter the US?
-
Yes most ppl get there's a month time
Really? I thought it was closer to 2 months?
-
I enter here October 25th and got it on December 7th
Thank you for sharing. The seems to be quicker than most.

We are in the same boat...entered the US on the 5th....it will not let us log in
Michael and Ganna, any word on your GC yet? Please provide an update if possible. Thank you.
My card being produced two days ago so thank god for that.. So any minute now I be receiving it.
Hutchy984, may I ask how many days it took from POE to GC in hand?
Thank you!

uscis status never updated but we arrived on 20th of october and received card today ! so basically 43 days not bad at all USCIS not bad !
43 days is amazing. I'm assuming you paid your fee prior to arrival into the US?
I'm checking for updates and it keeps saying error as well?
I've read the forums and this seems to be a common issue.

Paid before I left the U.K. Got it in five weeks

Paid $165 on 10/04/2016
Arrived at JFK on 10/08/2016
Received a status update on 11/16/16: "On November 15, 2016, we began producing your new card for your Form OS155A, Immigrant Visa and Alien Registration, Receipt Number IOExxxxxxxxxxx. We will mail your card to the address you gave us."
Will let you know when we receive GC in the mail.
Thank you very much for sharing new2010. Please do let us know when you get it

KierenHby's response is pretty accurate.
I got mine 2 months-ish after arrival and I paid the $165 before my flight to the US.
Thank you for sharing your experience KierenHby's

Doesn't make sense to count the days before I came to the US. There is no action on the production of the green card until you come to the US. Coming through immigration starts the process.
I actually didn't know that. I thought paying in advance (prior to US entry) would actually give it a bit of a kick start.
-
I paid two weeks before POE. The status just changed recently. Will update as it changes.
So 2 weeks + 40 days.... approx. 54 days?
-
Been tracking mine on USCIS. 40 days after POE status changed to card is being produced
Thanks for sharing. Couple of questions. Did you pay your fee prior to arrival in the US or after? If after, how long after your arrival did you pay the fee? Also, when they say "card is being produced"... how long does that message stay on before the card is actually sent out?
-
Please report back when you do get your GC. I'm interested to know how long it takes from POE to receiving the GC.

~Inquirer is LPR~
You've stated that "inquirer is LPR" and this raises an interesting question. Do wait times for the Green Card upon arrival to the US vary based on the petitioner/beneficiary relationship? For example, will a F2A will longer for the plastic Green Card longer then a F1 would if arrival into the US is on the same day?
-
You're putting the cart before the horse. Your wife is still in Canada, and at least 2 if not more years before she obtains LPR status.
And, take a moment to
I have no clue what you are talking about. I'm asking because I'm trying to get a sense of how long it's been taking everyone.
-
No set timeline, but anywhere from 2 to 6 months.
Based on your timeline, I see it took you 2.5 months. If you don't mind me asking, did you pay your fee prior to arrival into the US or after? I want to get a good estimate of how long it takes.
-
For those of you who have newly arrived in the US (within the past year or two).... how long did it take to receive your Green Card in the mail after your entry into the US?
Please share your experience.

You can look up different visa types on the USCIS website; dual intent means the visa is NOT an immigrant visa by itself, but you are allowed to want to stay and have plans to do so (such as by marriage to a greencard holder or citizen).
Thank you kindly
-
Technically no, but you have to see if it's TN or H1B. TN is not dual intent, so entering on a TN with intent to adjust status is immigration fraud. H1B is dual-intent, so no worries with that one.
Also, not sure if you have to be a Canadian citizen to have a TN? Is she?
I'm so glad I've asked.... I've never heard of "dual intent". Can you please provide more information on where I can find information on this?
Yes she is a Canadian citizen.

I have a Green Card and my wife to be lives in Canada. Her job is willing to transfer her to the US on a work Visa (not sure which visa it is...TN, H1B, etc...). If she comes down here on her work visa, and we get married, can I still petition for a I-130 for her in the while she's working in the US through her employer? In other words, if she is on a work Visa in the states, and has my I-130 petition (F2A - Spouse of a PR) being processed in the background, will this cause any problems?

Thank you for the quick response. I was worried about not being around to sign off for it
