  1. We have someone picking up our mail as we are traveling.....We don't know the exact date, but are saying approximately 35 days......It says the day issued is the day entered POE ( same date)

Thats awesome. So far 35 days is the fastest I've seen.

My husband received his 36 days after entry. He arrived on Nov 9, received green card Dec 14.

Thank you for sharing. I'll report back when mine arrives.

  2. Paid $165 on 10/04/2016

    Arrived at JFK on 10/08/2016

Received a status update on 11/16/16: "On November 15, 2016, we began producing your new card for your Form OS155A, Immigrant Visa and Alien Registration, Receipt Number IOExxxxxxxxxxx. We will mail your card to the address you gave us."

Will let you know when we receive GC in the mail.

Thank you very much for sharing new2010. Please do let us know when you get it :)

  3. ~Moved from Bring. Fam. USC to US to Bring. Fam. LPR to US Forum~

    ~Inquirer is LPR~

You've stated that "inquirer is LPR" and this raises an interesting question. Do wait times for the Green Card upon arrival to the US vary based on the petitioner/beneficiary relationship? For example, will a F2A will longer for the plastic Green Card longer then a F1 would if arrival into the US is on the same day?

  4. You can look up different visa types on the USCIS website; dual intent means the visa is NOT an immigrant visa by itself, but you are allowed to want to stay and have plans to do so (such as by marriage to a greencard holder or citizen).

    Thank you kindly :)

  5. Technically no, but you have to see if it's TN or H1B. TN is not dual intent, so entering on a TN with intent to adjust status is immigration fraud. H1B is dual-intent, so no worries with that one.

Also, not sure if you have to be a Canadian citizen to have a TN? Is she?

I'm so glad I've asked.... I've never heard of "dual intent". Can you please provide more information on where I can find information on this?

Yes she is a Canadian citizen.

  6. I have a Green Card and my wife to be lives in Canada. Her job is willing to transfer her to the US on a work Visa (not sure which visa it is...TN, H1B, etc...). If she comes down here on her work visa, and we get married, can I still petition for a I-130 for her in the while she's working in the US through her employer? In other words, if she is on a work Visa in the states, and has my I-130 petition (F2A - Spouse of a PR) being processed in the background, will this cause any problems?
