  1. After one year and a half I finally got CRIS e-mail that says my AOS was approved and a welcome notice and card are on the way.

I would like to thank to all VJ friends who helped me with filing last year, especially to you Dr_LHA, for your assistance and help in times of confusion and need for advice.

VJ community helped me and still does just by reading postings of people who are sharing their experiences on the forum.

Thank you again and wish you luck to ya` all!

  2. Hi everybody from VJ family. I just dropped by and saying hello to all the helpful friends I have here on the VJ website.

I didn t forget your help in times of desperate need for an advice, help, reassurance.

Still pending with my AOS but at least I have a job now as a legal secretary and I am far too busy to adjust my life here rather than adjusting my status.

My husband will soon be leaving the country for a job overseas and I guess I ll visit the site more often in the near future. Helping others if I ll be able to.

See you and wish all the best to all who are or will be in my situation.

  3. Thank you my friends , appreciate this. I live in Baltimore County and my husband works in the City. He suggested that i might start off as a Substitute teacher but I probably lost my self confidence lately-:)) Despite my previous education and professional experience in my country, I still have some reservations.

After all, it is a sensitive kind of work and it is like part time.

I m really in the beggining of this endeavour of mine but I hope to find something appropriate for me.

After reading your postings I understand that it might be a more than I could ever expected lengthy process to find a suitable position. But I do hope to find something ASAP . The idea of contacting a professional recruiter is great. I ll follow it up.

  4. I recently got my EAD card and had the interview with a verbal approval for two years GC.

All `s well and good but I m facing right now the job hunting issue. I surely am a lil scared of not being fit for an interesting and good job here since I still have an accent( I know I should consider it as an asset) and sometimes I might not find the most appropriate verbiage when needed, especially when great communication skills are a " must have" requirement in a certain field like teaching or administrative ( worked before in my country).

I feel a bit vulnerable now and i d really like to learn from VJ people`s experiences in this regard. Especially from foreign spouses like me who have to adjust to an environment definetely different of all we had known before.I want to start working the soonest and some shared experiences would help for sure.

  5. My husband was let go from his job yesterday with no warning. To make things worse he's going in for a planned day surgery tomorrow which the doctor has said he needs at least 2 weeks to recover from.

My question is how is this going to reflect on my pending AOS, EAD & AP applications? My application was received at CSC September 13th.

    Thank you for your help

    :(

Brace yourself, Megz. I hope you and your husband will overcome this obstacle soon.I am sympathetic since i know the unemployment of my husband delayed my I 485 application . But now, Thanks God , we are happy and " employed".

    Just keep faith.

  6. i failed to take the biometrics today cause i had not the marriage certificate with me and the appointment letter was on my new name.so i had to go back home which was not very close . i feel a lil worried but i know i can go back on wednesdays , same place same hour , as long as i appear there by a certain date.

is there somebody who failed to take the biometrics at first shot and did it afterwards?

  7. hello again.

i ave another big concern now. i sent AOS recently but my husband got an offer that he cannot refuse so he might consider to change his job . i am afraid this will affect the process since the Affidavit of Support was based on his current job , income, etc.

how do u think it will change the course of events a sudden change of employment ? in terms of my AOS .

    thank you again.

  8. I came to my husband in June using my visitor Visa. Afterwards he submitted the I 130 only since he didn t know whether he would leave US for an overseas job or not.We got NOA a week an a half after and then another NOA subsequently informing us the case was transferred to CA center.

As my husband got immediately after a job in the US, satisfactory in terms of income, we are now ready send away the AOS package to Chicago center.

Please tell me it is still ok to do this or this only implies the EAD and Advance Parole are out of the question.

    Thank u in advance.
