I was told by an agent at an InfoPass appointment that the 1 year extension is from the expiration date on the green card.

I attended an InfoPass session last week, thinking that I would need an extension stamp because my NOA is Nov 17, 2015. However, the agent informed me that this isn't the case, and that the 12 month extension is from the expiration date on the green card. She told me that people come in with that question all the time, and didn't give me an extension stamp.
I hope this helps, and if anybody out there had a different experience please let me know!
Also, still no approval for me yet. Can't wait til this process is over!
